  1. He's got 5 FIM Gold Medals and a few Silvers. He might be remembered for those.
  2. From what I read, he decided not to take Latvian citizenship years ago as Latvia does not allow dual citizenship and he didn't want to give up his Russian passport.
  3. Didn't they do 4 groups of 4 for the qualifying in Croatia as well, with the reserves just going out together? I half watched that qualifying and think that was what they did, but could be wrong
  4. There has been a fair bit of discussion about the heat 19 decision over the years. Khlinovsky made a move to pass Plech, who was leading the race, on the last lap. Plech came down. Ref decided that Khlinovsky gets excluded and Plech got given 2nd to Peter Collins, who was a distant 3rd at the time of the clash. If Khlinovsky wasn't excluded he would have been in the run off. If Plech had been given the win he would have been in it. All a bit bizarre.... https://youtu.be/Q7poWMivIpo?si=Ybj_mNoAfVDCkhBe
  5. Very sad news. Like a few others on here, I remember Brian well from the old days and had some great discussions with him. It always seemed like the sport didn't take best advantage of having someone so talented involved with the sport. RIP Brian.
  6. Now, a 16 lapper after qualifying with the top 8 sounds like something interesting and different, unlike what they have proposed
  7. Disagree...IMO, he's not what we need. I think it's what we'll get, but not what we need. Averages don't mean everything, it's about what is delivered in key races, and I just don't think he is the man to deliver even in a weaker league... Especially with Picko as number one, someone who provides entertaining races after s*** starts but often comes up short in the big races
  8. Two seasons is a good effort for their long term plans...usually gone after 1 year.
  9. I'm thinking that Zoltan Adorjan might fit into this category. If he had raced in the UK early in his career, from the early 80s, I think he would have made it much further than he did...although he did not bad as it was.
  10. Best I can think of is a first name starting with X Xavier Muratet
  11. Warsaw has 2 airports. Chopin is the main airport and much closer to the City but most Ryanair flights from the UK go to Warsaw Modlin. I think only Manchester had a Ryanair flight to Chopin this year. Edit - Wizzair usually have a few flights to Chopin from the UK, if you would consider them.
  12. Once again talking about a final round in Australia...Don't like that. They should start the season out there like they did with NZ and finish in Europe. 12 rounds has a really good risk of the final round being close to meaningless for the Championship.
  13. Doyle qualified through the GP challenge, so there is no question about his involvement. Also coming from the GP Challenge is a 2nd Pole, Szymon Wozniak.
