Attendances For British Gp
rabbit replied to Sheephead's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Only singing Ferrari driver i know of is Jamiroquai Surely times aren't that hard... -
Agree. Really hope he makes the practice sesh at Poole and rides at Somerset. Always thought he got a bum deal (no pun intended, well maybe just a little ) when he rode for us before. Thinking of making the trip to the OTA to see this one. Great start to the season and good luck to Piotr with Czestochowa.

Sorry to piddle on your fireworks FR but this is old news....all of this has been on here for at least a week or so. Better luck next time. -
Afraid we've always had our fair share of Neanderthols down here.

Premier League Best Pairs
rabbit replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Did this trip when Glasgow were at Somerset a couple of years back. It was busy yes, but not that bad...and there were roadworks at the time as well. Think we left our hotel at Cardiff just after 5pm and still made it to Somerset in plenty of time - not long after the gates opened anyway. Certainly no worse than travelling to any metting during the summer heading south on the motorways...and having been stuck in queues on the M3 heading back to Poole I speak from experience Plus although the Newport meeting on the pre-GP week has a decent crowd, it's not that big... I've been there for 3 of the last 4 seasons and think you're exaggerating a bit that Somerset couldn't cope with both crowds. Think I'll be heading to this Pairs meeting anyway...should be good. -

Best Places To Meet Up In Cardiff ?

Definitely the Prince of Wales. That's usually heaving with forumites as well as other fans from all over. Starting to wish I was still going now... Ho hum. -
Grand Prix Millenium Stadium June 30th 2007

SCB has it spot on...the middle tier is always pretty popular but I reckon you'd be quite a few rows back if you booked now. Top tier is always emptier but you are a bit further away...not much though. As for atmosphere...don't worry, you'll be totally immersed in it wherever you are! Best thing to do is try the Seetickets site, stick in a few prices etc and see what seats it chucks back at you. Go by their seat plan and see if you like what you're offered. -
El Riders Championships
rabbit replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
At least that was on a Sunday... -
Great idea, like the venues etc but to me the biggest question is... Are the top guys going to turn up at the EL events? Or will it be more of the same from recent years...

New Year Classic
rabbit replied to davidba's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
He did well Slav - pretty fast from the tapes and looked better than his points would have you think. He got more confident as he got the track sorted out and I agree with Mark Poulton - I also think he'd do a good job in the PL - is a consistent gater and doesn't give up. Think he should be pleased with how he did - Newport isn't the easiest track to ride first time and he was up against a lot of Newport specialists. Just got back from Newport. Very enjoyable meeting and credit to all the riders for a decent afternoon's entertainment. Some good racing and nice to get a fix before the season proper. Bomber was unlucky not to win but fair play to David Howe for taking advantage, although how the two of them didn't end up in a heap on the floor coming off that 4th turn i'll never now. Thanks to Bren, Dave and Bob for another great day's travel as well. Great fun. -

There's a band of rain crossing west-east at the moment which is just on it's way out of Wales... Tomorrow's forecast looks much better - Met Office has a bright sunny afternoon on it's website. -
No you carry on mate, I'm amazed you can find so much to comment on that's all - it's been so dead for news over Christmas.

Reckon they're both going for SCB's record.

Flippin' heck Spin King - you on a mission today or what, seems every other post I'm reading is one of yours. Do you realise you've single-handedly made over 20% of the postings on this forum in the last 24 hours. That's going some!

Well if it's the one in Cardiff Bay, take an extra pillow with you. Having just stayed there last night, their beds are shocking. It's like lying in a giant marshmallow and you feel like your feet are higher than your head. I'd have slept better on the floor! -

Didn't they say that he didn't know about it until Jon Cook showed him a programme with his name in it - until that point he had sworn point blank that he wasn't going to ride. Agree with you LW...it's nice to see him back on a bike. He was alway one of the Poole fans' favourite anti-heroes. -

He seemed pretty certain it was broken yesterday, but you always live in hope that it's worst case scenario. A real shame for him and I wish him well for a speedy recovery - I hope all the other Academy riders who also fell yesterday are OK today with nothing worse than a few bumps and bruises. I've got to say how impressed I was with how friendly, polite and eager all the lads were who I saw there yesterday both before and after the meeting - I knew Brendan and Matt already and know what good guys they are, but it was great to see such a buzz amongst them all. Gave me some hope for the future and I keep my fingers crossed that they keep getting the opportunities to progress. -

Sorry I didn't get to say hello other than that quick wave. Was all rather manic there and we took off quickly after the last heat of the afternoon, and then you weren't in the same spot for the evening session. -

Totally shattered this morning. A big, big thanks to Dave and Brendan Johnson and BobC for a great day - now that 8am start all makes sense! Guys - Bob was right - you are all totally nuts on meeting days - in the nicest possible way! I'm seeing you all in a whole new light. Great laugh. The meetings were the same as I remember from previous years but it did seem to drag on a bit in the evening, but that's maybe cos it was a long day. Great to see the academy lads give their all - well done to Bren and Matt Bates on their points and hope Richard Franklin's wrist isn't as bad as first thought. Good to see the usual reprobates from Coventry during the afternoon and nice to say hello to 21CH and Kitten there yesterday too. -

OK so the nonchalant stand-offish approach doesn't wash with you SCB. Some of us just want to be loved. -

Do we care? Anyway, for anyone there, if you see a bemused looking rabbit, come up and say hello. I don't bite. -
