  1. Think you have it spot on there Finchy, although I'm loathe to agree about Bjarne even though my head says you might be right, the Pirate part of me says no way José!! Really pleased for Lukas, he's been dealt a bum hand with injuries and persoanl circumstances in the last 3 years - it all started with that horrific crash in Slovenia. I hope he does well - to think he was leading the series for a while. Good luck to him. Edit: Think you'll see Lindgren handed a spot tbh
  2. Should suit Bjarne coming from the Poole track then.
  3. I must've missed these comments. Don't think I#ve ever thought Bjarne not interested...if anything his lack of performance in this year's series has been an enigma to him. It's nothing to do with not wanting to be there. Don't think he'd have bothered with the qualifiers in the first place if that was the case...
  4. Felt tonight's GP was a bit like some films...started well, dipped in the middle and then picked up at the end. Gollob is still pure box-office. The move was madness and no-one else would have got away with it. Think Nicki's adrenaline kicked in with his immediate reaction but he was at least philosophical abouut it afterwards. KK did better than I thougt, even if it did mean my other half swearing at the TV all evening...he hates him. Nice touch for him to mention his contacts at Poole and also Lakeside. But what is up with Hancock? Surprised no-one's really mentioned this. Is it to do with a lack of British racing or is he just sliding down the tree?
  5. I'd love to see Lukas back in there, but that's for purely aesthetic reasons Hope Bjarne does enough to stay in...hes quality but strangely off the boil in GPs this year, he is better than that. Think Lindgren will be in anyway as part of the FIM/IMG newbie strategy. The rest...who cares.
  6. I know I shouldn't click on this thread, my head is screaming 'no, don't do it', but every time I do. It's like the angel on one shoulder, the devil on the other, a verbal ping-pong.... The result every time is 'Arrrgghhhhhhhhh'.....to the main protagonists on both sides of the fence.
  7. Big, big congratulations to Brendan Had the text through to say he'd won it - perfect performance from him this evening and well deserved! Typical...knew we shouldn't have changed our plans after initially deciding to go. Grrrr...
  8. Even more so for Troy when it appears he was on borrowed machinery. Not bad when you consider he only lost out getting to the semis on KK's win over him. Edited to add: full story here
  9. If you're referring to Crumpy - that's slightly harsh. His knee was a right mess last night - look at the full story here if you're prepared to. Forum member BobC was unlucky enough to have seen his knee last night and reckons it wasn't a pretty sight. Think even a PL or CL rider might have struggled with a glued together knee-cap. I'm just amazed he hasn't missed more meetings, but then perhaps even that's not good enough for some. Perhaps you'd prefer him to make it worse even in the long-term just to prove his worth Edited to add...speaking selfishly here but as a Poole fan, I too would rather he missed tonight to be fully fit for our crucial meetings coming up too. No good him riding tonight and then he's boogered for Monday and Wednesday.
  10. KK loves these individual meetings, and if he thinks he's got a shot he'll be trying all guns blazing. Think he could well - I rate him more as an individual rider than a team man. If anything he's likely to over-try.
  11. Aha - thanks. Fair enough. Stops me getting on my soapbox about the usual farce that is the ELRC if it's a legit withdrawal.
  12. Far too sensible a suggestion Rebecca. The Scotty debate has been going on on here for yonks even before the latest protagonists on this thread were on the forum, and I can't see it stopping until 1) he wins a GP or 2) he retires. Makes for amusing reading in a sad voyeuristic kind of way.
  13. To be fair Screeny, Trav and Loobie are in by right as qualifying from their club/being highest averaged rider available. As for Coventry having 3 riders, think that's just Sky jumping on the Bomber band wagon again. Agree it would've been better for one team like Wolves or even Arena to have been allowed a second rider instead.
  14. Fair enough Wacks - apologies for jumping to conclusions. Guess mud does tend to stick with certain riders and you roll our eyes skywards and think 'here we go again' each time they vanish eastwards.
  15. Just about sums him up and why the EL is in a mess. If he gets a contract next year, then I say 'more fool you' to whoever signs him. He and his ilk should be cold-shouldered period. Get Trav in for Thrsday - at least he'll give it a go for Reading.
  16. Aha, cheers, that's one that's passed me by.
  17. Love your optimism Pirate Roxy, but think there are for too many other Saddlebow Road specialists who will do better than Barney. Can see it being between Nicki P, Adams and Crump personally.
