  1. Now you really are just trolling. Find someone else to react. If I'm elitist for considering the expense my fellow fans from around the country and area would go to on the day, and the time and effort expended by people to have it rained off then shoot me. I've said and done worse
  2. Now excuse me, but you are the one who has descended on this thread, and with your second post on this forum, indicated that because you don't agree with the pricing for children, you hope the whole event is rained off and therefore ruined for the fans and financially a liability for the club we support?!! Then yes, I am indicative of Poole fans because I find that a disgusting suggestion, and however much I disagreed with anything your or any other promotion might do, I would never, in a million years, as a fan of this sport, wish an event to be rained off, knowing the amount of effort that goes in behind the scenes, and the distances people might travel to attend it. By all means disagree with the pricing structure and argue it, as many before you have done, but your comments have left you open for criticism and i have said nothing that I would not say to anyone else from anywhere else wishing for an event to be cancelled.
  3. And I'm assuming you don't go to many concerts where there are no kids tickets either? Whether I do have kids or not is, with all due respect, is none of your business and not relevant at all. I'm objecting to your vehement wish for the whole event to be ruined by rain. Best you stay up there in P'boro and let us Poole fans enjoy our 60th festivities.
  4. Your comments are contemptuous in the least, not only to the people outside of the promotion involved in making this event hopefully a success, but also to the many fans who are looking forward to the meeting, and the associated events. You may not agree with the prices and you are not alone in that, but to wish failure on the event says more about you than anything else I'm afraid. I'm sure Colin, Mick and your fellow P'boro fans (of which thankfully you are not representative) are exceptionally proud of you.
  5. Thanks for your generous good wishes. Always good to see the spirit of speedway shining through amongst fellow fans. So guess you won't be interested in a ticket then?
  6. Almost right...buy in advance, pay the booking fee of £4, get a free programme worth £6 and the voucher for £5 off the Lakeside meeting. Buy a ticket on the day without a booking fee, pay for your own programme if you want one, and still get a voucher for £5 off the Lakeside meeting as per the quote from the Echo website on the 6th Feb 'Everyone who comes to the meeting will receive a voucher for reduced or free admission to our home meeting against Lakeside on March 12'.
  7. Chill out CP, there is no booking fee. Steve, I still have the text on my phone from Matt confirming it and he's seen what I posted as a result on the Poole forum last week. Here's the details I had clarified: Reading through this thread there seem to be a few mis-conceptions about exactly what is being charged/paid and when. So just to clarify: If you pre-book your ticket through the BIC, then yes, you do pay the £4 booking fee per ticket, but on the day you will each get a free programme. You can buy your ticket on the day at the stadium (availability permitting of course!), with cash, as always; there is no booking fee payable on the day through the turnstiles, but you do not get a free programme and will have to pay for these as you would normally. The price of a programme will be £6. Feel free to check with him again but I'm not making it up, honest!
  8. There is no booking fee payable for anyone buying on the day. The booking fee only applies to tickets booked in advance through the BIC, hence the free programme to offset that cost.
  9. There seems to be a few PP...best to give the BIC a call and they'll be able to tell you. Try 0870 111 3000 or have a look at the BIC site for the event.
  10. Sure hope so Shazz! Gawd, after all the flippin' whinging about everything going on, I wouldn't blame M&M if they said never again!
  11. If true that is very good news. He just needs to take his time though and do things when he feels ready and not when people pressure him to. Have heard that he's been learning a trade back in Sweden and having a totally different life so perhaps he's just going to dip his toes back in gently. Good luck to him.
  12. Meaningless to you maybe Kev, but as a Poole fan, this meeting kicks arse out of any poxy GP. Guess we won't be seeing you on the 9th then?
  13. Thanks for that. Obviously there's no comparison between a GP and our meeting before anyone jumps down my throat again , just didn't think I'd seen specific children's prices for the GPs before and hadn't heard gripes about having to pay out adult prices in the past, so wondered what they did.
  14. Simply playing Devil's advocate here, but is it possible that the reason for no concessions is down to the costing of the event? Having a level pricing structure with no concessions means the promotion can assess the known income based on various crowd figures. If kids tickets were available, you obviously don't know from the outset how many tickets likely to be sold will be for children, which would then impact on the income from the event. Certainly helps when setting the prices in order to cover the costs for this, which are huge. If you suddenly lose a big chunk of money because say 1000 or 1500 kids tickets are sold, could be the difference between profit, breaking even or even making a loss, particularly if these are in the higher priced seats. Just a thought - are childrens prices available for the British GP or is it one price fits all for the various pricing levels? Serious question as I've no idea not having sproglets of my own.
  15. Just a few bits of info and news about the meeting, some known, some perhaps not. Just to please some of the ticket-obsessed, sales are going well, with last week being the best week for sales since the week the meeting was announced and they were first available. As Steve has said, grandstand pretty much sold out bar a few seats and restaurant getting there. Matt is more than happy with the way things are going so far. Reason for comments in the press about buying tickets is simply that if more than the maximum number allowed turn up on the day - the doors will be closed and people will be shut out. They are well on their way to that number. That is fact. If the day is wet and the 3pm is in jeopardy, then the meeting will be attempted at 7pm that evening, so if Mother Nature is being a bitch then at least there is some leeway to work on the track with a delayed start. The stadium is then booked for the Monday night in case the weather really is that bad. To answer Jac's question about refunds for not being able to make a re-arranged running of the meeting, Matt says this is no problem, you won't be left out of pocket for your ticket. Buying an advance ticket will get you a free programme for the event to offset the cost of the booking fee charged by the BIC. Pay on the day and you will have to buy one if you want one - I believe that the cost of a programme will be more than the booking fee so make your own conclusions as to whether it's better to book in advance. For those wondering about what happens if a rider(s) pulls out of the line-up, there is a list of riders who have been on the phone desperate for a place, so rest assured there's some quality names who'll be there instead. There's only one name Matt seems a little worried about, but if the worst happens, he won't be missed (have to say I'd rather see one of the replacements! ). Crumpy and Nicki P are well up for it and have been on the phone about the meeting again in the last few days. Gates will open at 1pm as there is no car-boot in the stadium carpark that day clogging it up. As parking is always a pain for big events and one of peoples gripes I'll post a link to other carparks closer to the day for people travelling who maybe don't know the town centre as there is plenty of additional parking all within a 5-10 min walk. Hope that helps :-)
  16. That thing called freedom of speech Steve. Those with unjustified attacks have been invited to discuss them with Matt on a personal basis - whether they've taken the invitations up I know not. But others are allowed to voice their views...we don't want to turn the forum those from other clubs where only nice things are allowed. Sube..i did see that I was hoping for BP to see it too and respond albeit on a private level.
  17. flippin' heck you're good! Is there anything about continental speedway you don't know? Thanks muchly, that's a big help.
  18. Seem to think your last post on there was moaning too Steve.
  19. Cheers Schumi...I've seen that. Definitely a help in my investigations! Looks like I'll be doing some major harassing during the season. Off-topic but don't suppose you've got the Czech league fixtures have you?
  20. Thanks Schumi....I did see some of the squads listed but haven't seen (to my knowledge) Holstebro listed yet so wondered if any others were missing. Is the WWoS the final list now or just scheduled meetings? I'm just trying to gather as much info on the major continental leagues and what's available during the course of the season as possible at the moment...
  21. Sorry you feel that way BP. The Postbag is still alive and kicking and you're always more than welcome to return. I'm not sure of the reason for your departure (perhaps you'd like to PM me ??) but it's a shame you'll miss out on all the Live Update and meeting banter when we get going. People taking a negative attititude is all part of it, it's up to us as fans of the club, and the club itself to prove them wrong. Hell, regardless of what is said, for those that go, it'll be a great day as long as the weather plays the game. Think of it as wanting to stick two fingers up to the naysayers... They can sit at home mumbling into their beards whilst we have a great day out. Their loss.
  22. Would any kind soul be able to provide a link to a(some) definitive Danish site(s) that contain full squads, fixtures (when available) and even (hope against hope) live updates from Denmark during the season?
  23. Aaah thanks for that - I'd not have thought to have checked out the Allsvenskan line-ups! As for riders missing EL meetings, don't get me started!
  24. Aye, so pleased you went and sat on them and squished them if I remember
