Poole Pirates Vs Leicester Lions 21/6/17
Shaleshifter replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Swindon started the meeting on fire purely down to quick gating.once Poole started to eat up the deficit after heat 8 we only conceded a heat advantage in heat 13.The fact we were almost 15 points behind at heat 7 and still took it to a last heat decider says it all. I don't underestimate Swindon at all but certain Swindon fans on here have the match won before it's been ridden. -

What shear and utter arrogance in your post you were lucky to win at Poole in the A fixture. Morris and Doyle top scored with Bellego and Ellis having a good night.Kurtz scored 8 and Holder 7 whilst Kasprzak scored a lowly 6 points. Only takes Doyle or Morris to have a off night and Swindon will crash and burn. Bring it on. -
After another week without a home meeting the Pirates return to action to take on the Lions. The Pirates welcome the return of Paul Starke to the Pirates line up. This has not been without controversy with Kyle Newman being axed to bring Starke back in causing mixed feeling's amongst fans. Anyway back to the meeting I won't be underestimating the Lions but expect Poole to win this one comfortably however, not sure if Nicolai Klindt will be fit enough to return and if so what points he will get This could leave us weak at reserve if a guest is needed. Thoughts?

Weather permitting this Friday looking to make the trip up to the National Stadium to see the Pirates race on the best track in the league. The Pirates will be using Josh Bates for the Injured Nicolai Klindt and will be looking for a better showing then the K.o.c meeting back in April. The Aces having lost at Somerset last Friday will be looking to bounce back and defeat the Pirates. Poole have yet to win at Belle Vue and I am not expecting them to triumph but live in hope. Thoughts?

Next Wednesday sees the league leaders visit Wimborne Road which could be a tough encounter for Poole. I have started this topic before the result of tonight's away meeting at Leicester.I am hoping for an away win but taking nothing for granted. The Pirates have not had a meeting at home for a month, so could be a little track rusty with new temp signing Gzergorz Zengota making his home debut. Poole will need to all be at thier best to see off the threat from the Wolves. Thoughts?

Wolves V Poole 29/5/17 6 Pm
Shaleshifter replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Looking forward to the trip to Monmore Green on Monday although not a happy hunting ground of late for the Pirates. With other meetings scheduled for the bank holiday I hope there are not any riders missing? Looking on tonight's updates I see that Jack Holder has been withdrawn from the meeting at Armadale with a knee injury. Hope this not to serious. Back to the meeting Wolves are the form team and at Monmore are virtually unbeatable. Poole will need to be at thier best to get anything from this meeting. -
Well next Wednesday sees the visit of the Rockets to Wimborne Road for the first time in 27 years I believe. The Pirates lost up at Hoddesdon by 5 largely thanks to gaining an 8-1 to get back into the meeting and some determined riding in heat 15. Poole will need to get back to winning ways after last week's home defeat to the Swindon Robins. The concern at the moment is the form of Krzysztof Kasprzak who clearly is well of the pace and is a pale shadow of the rider the Pirates fans are used to seeing. Not sure if Kyle Newman will replace Lewis Kerr next week but the whole team need to step up and claim 3 points. Thoughts?

Poole V Swindon Ela 1/5/17 6pm
Shaleshifter replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Have to say I was not expecting that result however, just like any sport results are not always forgone conclusion. Well done to Swindon who were far far much sharper and more determined then the Pirates over the first half of the meeting. Poole have been so used to riding a slick track every week that when it is grippy like early on they were left flondering. The gloating from the Robin's fans was to be expected but as has been said it's along season. So making predictions about being in the top 4 is a little premature. The Pirates will bounce back from this defeat so dont write us off just yet. -

The weather forecast on the bbc has changed from earlier on and now has heavy rain showers right through to late evening so this could play havoc with any track prep. If the meeting goes ahead I will stick my neck out and go for a Pirates win by 10-12 points. On another note it was good to see Kyle Newman come through last night's fixture at Berwick unscathed. Your 2017 Prem Winners.

You may well be right One of Clubs,Kaszprzak can go missing at times and certain tracks and conditions can affect his mindset.Whether it's your season or not remains to be seen. Will be coming up to the National stadium next Friday for the knockout cup match with a certain Mr Shovlar so we will see how both teams fair over the two meetings. -
Looking forward to tomorrow night although on a sad note with the news on Kyle's potentially season ending injuries it's put a damper on the season, but the show must go on. I did not go to Monmore but spoke with Steve Shovlar who was there and it appears that some riders have not found thier form yet but let's see if we can pull back those 10 points and claim the first trophy of the season.

Really in your opinion of course as you are not a fan of Poole. My view is that the top 4 could be a combination of Poole,Kings Lynn,Wolves,Rye-House or Belle Vue. My opinion of course and anything can happen during the season injuries can make or break a team if they occur. Anyway good luck to all teams for 2017 -

Can't help yourself Ouch can you? -
The Pirates take on the Stars next Wednesday incredibly for the first time this season in what will be a tough encounter. Kings Lynn have a solid 1-7 and with the likes of Iversen and Lambert in their ranks will make it an entertaining meeting. The Pirates will looking at nothing less then 3 point's at home and hoping to get a result at the Norfolk Arena on Thursday. Thoughts?

After today's wash out the Pirates try again on Wednesday against the Wolves. With Fredrik Lindberg,Jacob Thorsell,Sam Masters, plus Pk, Kyle Howarth,Joonas Kylmakorpi and Max Clegg this will be a tough encounter for Poole. The Pirates have already tasted victory over the Wolves in the A fixture and will be looking to get another 3 points. Thoughts

The Pirates are in action on Monday when they take on the Leicester Lions at Wimborne Road. Although at the bottom of the Elite League they have had a resurgence of late especially at Beaumont Park. They have riders like Hougaard and Klindt who have had good meetings at Wimborne Road and then throw in Paul Starke and this will be no walk over for the Pirates. Poole with two home meetings in quick succession with Wolverhampton to follow need to pick up all 6 points on offer if they want to get into the top two. Thoughts?

The Pirates will be looking for swift revenge over the Bees when both sides meet on Wednesday at Wimborne Road. Last night's loss at Brandon a fired up Coventry side were deserved winners against a less hungry Poole team. Poole will need to ensure they pick up all 3 point's against the Bees next week. Having matches in hand is OK but with out away form as it is we can't afford any more losses at home. Thoughts?
