This coming Sunday afternoon the Pirates take on the Brummies at Wimborne Road. A return of former Pirate Chris Harris and also a return for James Shane's riding against their former club. Chris Harris although deemed to be in the twilight of his racing career is a track expert and along with Eric Riss will pose a threat. At reserve they have Paco Castagna who I believe is the son of former rider Armando. They also have Valentin Grobauer who has started to find his feet in British Speedway. Poole will need to be on their guard on Sunday afternoon but I feel quietly confident Poole can pick up three points. On another note I hope Danny Ford gets the track sorted out after the debacle of the dust kicked up during last two home meetings. The track needs to be back to how it was at the start of the current season. Thoughts?

Redcar vs Poole 20/08/21
Shaleshifter replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Disappointed with the way we faded at the end. Our gating disappeared just when we needed it however you have to give credit to the Bears and in particular a superb performance from Charles Wright ,Michael Palm Toff and Jake Allen not forgetting Anders Rowe. A poor night for Rory Schlein and has been already mentioned a under par showing from Ben Cook didn't help the Pirates cause. No excuses though, Redcar came good they were fired up and delivered when they needed to in heats 13 to 15. Well done to Redcar Bears. I do feel that they will give us a good meeting in the return match at Wimborne Road next month but I think Poole will get revenge. -

All being well its business as usual next Wednesday for the Pirates after this week's postponement due to stadium staff having to self isolate after the stadium manager testing positive to covid . Hopefully both Ben Cook and New signing Benjamin Basso will be part of the proceedings. Scunthorpe have in their ranks two riders (Adam Ellis and Thomas Jorgensen) who will definitely pose a threat and they both ride Poole well. I believe Josh Mcdonald who is currently riding at reserve was due to join the Pirates last year until Covid-19 brought the season to a halt before a wheel had been turned. It will be interesting to see how he goes. Simon Lambert had a good evening tonight at home to Redcar but I don't recall him doing much at Wimborne Road In the past. Tero Aarnio I can't remember if has ridden at Poole or not and I don't think Jordan Palin has ever ridden here either. I will stick my neck out and I think Poole should win this encounter but everyone needs to be on the pace. Thoughts?

Sorry Bob, but I disagree entirely with you. The meeting should be restaged to allow riders to earn money and the club to earn revenue. The sport is in trouble with dwindling crowds add in the delayed start to this season and at Poole Stadium because of Covid restrictions the club lost money with only being allowed 1300 spectators at the first two meetings. Without supporters and meetings, clubs will not survive. Tomorrow's meeting being cancelled is beyond the control of Poole Speedway. Stadium staff being pinged by the NHS Covid App to self isolate. Therefore the club has no access to the stadium tomorrow evening . I will also take you to task on the fact you stated Redcar fans won't trust the Poole management to honour tickets for any restaging date. That remark is not only inappropriate its borderline slanderous. You are entitled to your opinion but its not constructive and I don't consider your post is a fair reflection at all.

Thanks Keith we had a great time up north. A shame the weather was unsettled but at least we did get to see some speedway. Steve says it was nice to meet you and the same goes for me. Always enjoy my trips to Tyneside and to Brough Park. Best of luck for the rest of the season. Hopefully see you all next season.

Berwick v Poole Saturday 07/08/21 7pm

Can't argue with the result tonight. Berwick were better on the night and outgated us and fought for their lives. The key for me, was the performance of Kasper Andersen. A match winner for the Bandits. -
Kent v Poole 27/7/21 6.30pm
Shaleshifter replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Fantastic meeting last night at Central Park stadium. Great racing and lots of passing . Kent just need another heat leader and a replacement for Paul Hurry. It's not for the want of trying but I don't think he is going to improve, too many injuries have blighted his speedway career, although he is still a class act on the grass. Kent have a great set up at Central Park and I hope they can make a success of staging speedway at Championship level. -

Hey Scunny Dan there will be a few Poole fans including myself who will be making the trip up to the Eddy Wright Raceway this coming Friday. Looking forward to the meeting as Scunthorpe is a terrific race track and I have enjoyed all my previous visits.
