  1. Next Wednesday see's the Brummies second visit of the season to Poole. Last time round they run us close and picked up a league point. This was down to some impressive gating from Daniel Nermark and a strong showing at reserve from Paul-Starke and infact a all round team performance. Poole need to build on last weeks strong performance against Leicester and 3 league points are a must if we are to start looking at getting into the playoffs. Thoughts?
  2. Well Wednesday brings the first visit of the season and the first for 30 years of the Lions to Wimborne Road. The Lions have of course ex Pirate Jason Doyle in thies ranks add in Mads K and Simon Stead to the mix should hopefully be a good meeting. The Pirates cant afford any more home slip ups and must claim all 3 league points. Thoughts?
  3. Sorry stupid error on my part i have gone i and corrected the post.
  4. Well next Wednesday brings the 2nd visit to Wimborne Rd of the Bees. There seems to be unbalanced feel to the fixtures list this season with teams meeting twice before completion of the A fixtures? Anyway on to the meeting, Coventry were a tough nut to crack last time out and pushed Poole hard, Kenneth Hanson in particular rode well as did Ryan Fisher. Then through in Hans Andersen and track expert Chris Harris it could be another tight meeting for Poole. My view is this could be decided on how well the reserves do as last time Jason Garrrity and James Sargent struggled with the track. kyle Howarth rode well last time and had some titanicbattles with Kyle Newman. The Pirates will be relying on Kyle Newman to score big but Ben Hopwood could well struggle again. Also will Darcy Ward return or will we be relying on a guest? Thoughts!
  5. Well next Wednesday the current elite league leaders the Lakeside Hammers arrive at Wimborne Road in search of points. The Pirates have been riding ok at home apart from the meeting with the brummies so should be an entertaining 15 heats. Hopefully Kyle will be fit to return to the reserve birth as he will up against Adam Ellis who has been scoring well for the Hammers. The Hammers have a good top 3 in Peter Karlssson Davey Watt and Mikel Mikelssen so the Pirates will need to be on their guard. Josh Grajczonek has been on fire for Poole and Workington so far, both he and Vaclav Milek will need to outscore Lewis Bridger and Richard Lawson If Poole are to get the win. Thoughts?
  6. <removed - hitting the report button would have been appreciated rather than responding>
  7. After a long drive back from Manchester and slightly downbeat mood. Firstly well done to the Aces for the win last night. The meeting was won and lost for Poole with the under performance of Holder and Janowski as opposed to the sharp gating and passing by Craig Cook and Matej Zagar. At 36 all Poole were still in the hunt but fell away badly over the last 3 heats. There is plenty room for inprovement from the Pirates but nevetheless Belle-Vue are a lot stronger at home this season. We will get revenge a week on Wednesday when the Aces come down to Wimborne Road. Now quickly on to another matter, the anti Poole bashers on this forum really are a sad bunch of people constantly hijacking Poole threads to go off topic to attack Matt-Ford and Poole in particular. There is not a day goes by without some nasty vile comment made towards Poole or accusations made. My view is this to all the anti Poole keyboard warriors out there take a look closer to home at how your clubs are run Too many of you have rose tinted glasses on when it comes to your own clubs. Also calling Poole cheats firstty you have to have proof of a any mis-doing. The absence of Lee-Smart has kicked up a storm and seems to have started a witch-hunt. Also the alleged average dropping by Chris Holder. Rant over from me. Once again well-done to the Aces.
  8. Well weather permitting i hope to make the long trek up to Kirkmanshulme Lane on Monday hoping that the Pirates dont get a battering from the Aces. The Poole team have riders who will find the tight turns at Kirky Lane to hot to handle on thier first visit-Vaclav Millik will be making his debut and surely will struggle. This will be a tough test for Poole as Belle-Vue are already dialled in at home and it could well be damage limitation on the night. Thoughts
  9. Another waste of space post and talking of Blue tints what about your Black and Gold blinkered Wolverhampton stance. The fact of the matter is Woverhampton are just as much light-weights and you know it but your bitchy Poole posts are sad, sad, sad.
  10. Steve Brum, this is a Poole vs Swindon thread so why are you discussing the Lakeside postponement? Your obsession with Matt Ford and Poole is pathetic you and EI-Addio cant leave it alone. I suggest you concentrate on your own clubs dwindling play-off hopes
  11. Will be attending this meeting weather permitting on Thursday having not been to the STMP for 3 years. Looking forward to seeing Micky Dyer in action for the Bears having signed him as a double upper for the Pirates. Not sure of the line ups of both teams. Lets hope the weather does'nt spoil what could be agreat night os speedway. Thoughts?
  12. Well on Monday the Pirates make the difficult trip up to Kirky Lane to take on the Aces. Belle Vue have made wholesale changes to thier squad this season and are fairly solid around thier Home track. Chris Holder has stated in the past that it's not one of his favourite tracks although he has had some good scores there. My concern is our Polish riders will struggle to pick up points around Belle-Vue and Dennis Andersson has not fared well there either. This has a home win marked all over it as we have made an indifferent start to 2013 and our two Aussies are not at thier best. Kyle Howarth and Rowan Tungate have performed well so far but Kirkmanshulme Lane is difficult to master. Thoughts?
  13. Hi mate sorry to hear about the motor, keep the chin up. Come on the PIRATES

  14. Hi Trees, come and say hello to us, i sit with a certain Mr Shovlar second row to the left of the start line in the stand

  15. Looking forward to the annual trip to Cardiff and will heve a certain Mr Shovlar in tow. will be going to the P.O.W and probably the Gatekeeper as per usual so come and say hello will probably be wearing our Poole jackets so expect the usual abuse but save it for Steve and not me, after all he is the pantomime villian.
  16. Well after driving through some heavy downpours on route to Devon not to mention the traffic i arrived at the ST-Bonaface Arena to a glorious sunny evening perfect for speedway. The racing from heat 1 through to heat 15 was brilliant with both sides giving everyting only slight criticism was the dust coming up i think the track could have been watered more. Bournemouth's downfall was through not being able to match the excellant Nicki-Glanz and Seemond-Stephens who were gating well but were also using thier track craft to come from the back. Also Jamie-Pickard abd Matt-Bates were on good form. Dissapointing for the Bucks as a last heat 5-1 would have earnt them a draw.
  17. Cant see a thread for this meeting so here goes. The Buccaneers travel to the ST Bonnaface Arena tommorow with thier new look line-up hoping to pick up points against the Devils. This will be my first trip to Plymouth sice 2006 and iam looking forward to seeing how the facilities have improved and the race strip also What are your thoughts on this meeting?
  18. Does anyone have the dates for the remaining rounds in particular the round at Nortside?
  19. Fourentee, i live near Southampton but i will be on holiday that weekend and intend on taking in Workington Vs Kings Lynn and Newcastle vs Kings Lynn.
  20. Great, thanks for the driving directions very much appreciated
  21. Hope to be coming up to Cumbria on this weekend and take in both meetings, i need directions to get to the Northside training track.
  22. Hi Paula, if you are going to the Prince of wales for some Bevys come and say hello i will be there with the famous Mr Shovlar who iswell known on the forums.
  23. Hi Clive, i'm coming and bring the famous Mr Shovlar with me i think a lot of people meet in the Prince-of-wales.so come and say hello, that applies to anyone form any of the clubs.
  24. What about a certain Andrew-Gordon Buck who rode for the Eastborne Eagles, he was well over 6ft. with an awkward style.
