  1. Si, This link is where me and the other half stayed a couple or three years ago. http://www.hoteljosef.com/ Can't fault the place. A1 location, within walking of all the touristy stuff and excellent staff/service. The place has only been done up to the standard as seen on the website in recent years, very clean and sharp. Me and the Mrs. had a great time and would highly recommend the Josef to anyone. Do ask for room at the front and on the higher floors if possible, we got one by chance and loved looking out in the morning over Prague. Enjoy, wherever and whatever you end up doing!
  2. Now, that is the attitude Jeff!! Like it! I had the pleasure of attending the last G.P. in Oz and to be fair, I made sure it was sandwiched into a fantastic three week holiday, what a time...... I think staging the last G.P. over there is a bit rough on the European fans who have backed the series as a whole, both in numbers and with their wallets. Why not stick the first one over there, that makes more sense to me??? To be honest, I think the middle ground is the U.S.A. Still a reasonable distance for most fans to get too, even the Ozzies?? I think a U.S. GP is more viable, would possibly be better supported by the fans but then again, I'm just a fan.
  3. Understatement of the speedway season. I had Antonio on an eachway bet, gutted. Would have got away with it if it wasn't for that pesky Crump Tony Sr. and Tony Jr. both amazing
  4. What a great read! Couldn't put it down after starting on the Boxing Day. Having been a speedway fan for only 4 years now, it has certainly helped fill in a few blanks regarding the sports history and legendary riders. As any good book should, it does raise many points of discussion. Tell me people, did J Cook throw that Cup Final? Do you agree that T Davey was better than J Louis, or in fact could have been one of the best ever? Even when Berry is, so called, putting the boot in on people you can tell he is holding his tongue (or pen in this case) and does want to say that little bit more!! Could have been more forthright but there is such a thing as libel, as Mr. Berry does point out. Highly recommended
  5. Same as in most sports that we have half a chance in. i.e. if we perform to our full potential, sprinkled with a bit of luck, we can we it. I reckon though, we'll cock it right up and have no luck Coupled with the fact that the Aussies and possibly the Danes and Swedes also have better teams than us, it will be tough
  6. You can get a 4 event ticket, seating if you want, for about £95. Now considering this is the cream of world speedway on show, bar Team USA, I think it ain't bad value under a £100. My point is e.g. like a Ferrari, now I would love one and yes they are a few bob, but just because I can't afford it does not mean it's expensive/ not worth it.
  7. Ordered mine on Sunday and they said give it seven days, which seems fair enough. How long have you guys been waiting?
  8. Holta may well have been able to stay on but would not have qualified for the next heat and thus did what, possibly, every other rider would have done in that situ. i.e. went down, many thanks re-run. You can't blame him. Wasn't dirty, two inches from the fence and same move, then yes, dirty. What annoyed me was Leanna Richardson running straight out to Holta after the incident. Just because Anderson was involved. Get over it Lee, move on. For the record, T.V. does show straight away by Holta's reaction he was alright, re-enforced by his performance in the re-run. Racin's, racin'.
  9. It is a shame when people, namely Cyclone in this instance, look at the post and not the person behind the post. I've only met you once Addict but I've read enough of you on here to know what character/type of lady you are..........one big softy, with an even bigger liking for one Belle-Vue aussie who ain't got ginger hair. Oh yeah, you have also been known to be up to all hours destoying a few bottles of the old vino, with partner in crime LW ;-) I know we are all just pleased Lukas is 'alright.' I'm pretty sure there won't be more jokes/smiles being cracked anywhere, than around Lukas's bed. Although I think Lukas may refrain from the smiling, unless Nicki P. has already been in touch
  10. Agree with you there Flappy. Remember also, if someone had been involved in the breaking of your back, I think your judgement may be a little biased. For the record, I am a Nicki fan.
  11. Anyone reckon Nicki P. will do the right thing and offer to donate one of his teeth to Lukas It is good to see Lukas should be O.K. Big cheers for Scottie, looks as though he's coming of age this year. Just at the time us Witches are about to drop out of the top tier of speedway :-(
  12. Pack it all in Gollob..............and pop down to Foxhall, please
  13. Well, it weren't too bad a day was it To be fair, it's gonna be a while yet before they get these one off tracks sorted, so I weren't surprised at the indifferent racing. The beer helped, lets say that Scotty made it for me and thank the lord he kept in there, else I reckon there would be a lot more disgruntled Brits on leaving. I had quality seats too. Right in front of the SKY box where Ermo and Loram were doing the inbetween bits for TV with Keith. Got me photo done with Loram and Havvy, with the programme signed too I enjoyed me self and to those who didn't, you must try harder
