Poole to follow shortly after apparently.

Danny King who was his captain and was interviewed on CWR confirmed that he had heard nothing from the club to this day, so Bjerre and King at least are contradicting what Horton has claimed. It is hard to understand why Horton would claim something, that riders had already stated hadn't happened. It will surely now call into question the validity of everything else he says. The one good thing at least,is that he now accepts, he needs to go,for the club to have any chance of survival.

Interesting that Rory said that the best owner/promoters he ever rode for were Sandhu and Frost, and that he and other riders had often been owed thousands of pounds by other promoters, that have been allowed to stay in the sport. Funny that 2 ex Bees riders were so effusive in their praise of Sandhu ,and both would clearly enjoyed riding for him Even Wayne Roberts the CWR speedway correspondent, who though perhaps not the most eloquent of speakers, seemed to intimate that the problems are more of Horton's making. Whilst a lot of this is mired in arguing of who said what when, the feeling was that all is yet not lost, but that the Horton era has run its course, and he needs to relinquish control of the Bees.

He's got taste. He even brought Tai Woffinden earlier in the season. Plus of course our most famous fan Sir Rod Stewart, whose son Liam is a Blaze player, who not only turned up over Christmas, but fortunately brought Penny Lancaster with him.

Perhaps a better comparison would be ice hockey and the Coventry Blaze, and speedway and the Coventry Bees. Both are minority sports, but the differences are huge. The Blaze social media output is so far superior to the Bees and other speedway clubs its embarrassing,,information and news comes out on a daily basis.Their website is far superior and updated regularly. In ice hockey each team has a regular weekly weekend home fixture, these fixture virtually never change, and apart from injuries you know all the players will be there, not stuck in Poland. This is for a sport that has only existed in Coventry for about 16 years. Players all interact with supporters far more than they do in speedway, there are bowling nights , casino nights, ladies nights were the players all turn up.After every game 2 players are made available for autographs, the match night experience is somethings most clubs are always seeking to improve. 6-7 years ago the Blaze were the dominant team in the UK, but lately have been overtaken by the likes of Nottingham and Sheffield, however the gates have not only held up, but increased, because the club have made a huge effort without loads of money, to go out and sell the product. All the local radio stations, mention the Blaze regularly, the Bees apart for this fiasco, barely warrant a mention. The sport seems stuck in a time warp. Next year the Elite league is expanding to 12 teams, and they hope to expand even further in future.Crowds are generally increasing at least at elite level, with clubs like Cardiff, Sheffield and Nottingham all having sell outs for just normal elite league games.Even Sam Masters has become a Blaze fan and is a regular when he is in the UK. 20 years ago the Bees were probably the 2nd biggest team in Coventry after CCFC, now they are probably about 5th. With the Wasps netball starting up, and having a sell out for there 1st game, we will soon be probably down to 6th, that''s if we still exist anymore.
-
No they were based at Wycombe, they never have in their history been based anywhere near Coventry. They are a franchise club,in the same way MK Dons are a franchise in football. There is and always has been a rugby club in Coventry with over a 100 years of history, called Coventry Rugby Club, that has always represented this City. A club that has produced numerous England internationals and were the top club in England in the 1970's.
-
Hopefully Trump then.
-
Perhaps Trump could take over. Not the Donald, but Allan. It would be symbolic if on the day one Trump became leader of the free world ,another became the saviour of the Bees. At least he has the finances,or at least he did.

Wow people actually believe this. You do realise that several clubs have already closed recently, and presumably not because they were making too much money. Every year clubs are looking for ways to try and reduce costs, and reduce their losses. Coventry moving to Leicester would see crowds collapse , and the club would fold within weeks. Any promoter who followed this route, should be taken away and sectioned, Horton maybe stupid but he is not terminally insane. Anyway this has hopefully been resolved, at least in the short term. The fact that Sandhu kept ownership of all the fixtures and fittings, always led me to believe that he hadn't totally given up on keeping the stadium open. For if he had no interest in speedway/stock car he would have surely got rid of everything when he sold the stadium last year. If he had wanted totally out, he may as well included all the f&f in the original sale.

While I accept that Doyle's average is incredibly high, I'm not sure it is a bigger handicap to Swindon as being made out, providing of course he recovers from his injuries and rides like he has been riding last season. Of course he can only reach a maximum of a 12 point average, but don't forget he will always barring injury have 5 rides, and averages assume a rider having only 4 rides. So his effective weighted average will be higher. If he were to go through the season unbeaten, very unlikely I know, whilst his average would drop to 12, he would be scoring 15 sometimes 18 points per meeting, and its the points per meeting that really count. It is like having a 6 point and a 2 point reserve, who ride to their averages. By giving the 6 point reserve 5 rides he will actually score you 7.5 points per meeting on average, and the 2 point rider only have 3 rides, will score on average 1.5 points per meeting, so you can gain an extra point per meeting. It is why Ford always goes with a strong top 2, because they always have 5 rides per meeting.
-
The next signing I would like would be Bates (5.02 i believe),and ideally you can fit him at reserve. Would love to see Fricke at Brandon, a rider who is young and is only going to get better. That would give us 3 very good heat leaders, especially in this league and a very strong reserve able to take 5 rides Fricke 9.91 King 9.57 Bjerre 8.22 Schlein 7.17 Walasek 7.63 Bates 5.02 JPB?? 2.00 Hopefully that makes 49.52 or take out Schlein and Walasek and put in Garrity 8.55 and L Bjerre 6.65 which makes us 49.92 I think. I imagine a lot of teams will be interested in JPB , not sure who else would come in on a 2 point average. Either team would have a nice balance of youth and experience, and gaters and racers. I know people have questions about Rory and Bjerre fitness/injuries,but on those averages they don't have a lot of downside and a potential big upsides for both. 4 or 5 years ago both I believe were number 1's, Rory at Belle Vue and Bjerre at Peterborough.

Ha ha ha. I'll tell you what I'll pay your losses, when you reimburse all the thousands of Peugeot workers that lost their jobs plus many more in the supply chain when the EU induced them to leave the UK, a fact admitted on local radio by Peugeot local management. We all remember you gloating when it was announced that Brandon was to be sold for housing, so the fact you are allegedly suffering financially is just an added bonus. You clearly have no concern for other people's welfare so don't be surprised if others take the same view. Some people seem to be forgetting there was back in the 1970's an EU referendum, which Remain won, I don't remember that result not being honoured. There was no talk of another vote then, well not for about 20 years. Of course there is nothing to stop you moving to your beloved EU, if you find Brexit Britain so unbearable.I hear Rome is quite popular. However I expect despite all your bluster, your love of the EU, won't quite stretch to living there. An EU still swamped with a migrant crisis, and they haven't got a clue how to solve it. Thousands now trapped in Italy as countries like Austria close their borders, Italy threatening to withhold EU payments unless other countries take more migrants, the Hungarians telling the EU they will refuse to take anymore migrants. Lithuania electing a government with a policy to try and stop emigration as so many of their people have moved westwards. emptying their country. Of course the fact there is still an ongoing Euro crisis, with the whole of southern Europe are mired in mass unemployment, an ongoing banking crisis now including Deutche Bank, was never going to be any concern for you. How long before yet another Greek bailout? Perhaps you should go into the production of dummies, I'm hearing their's a national shortage. -

I wouldn't hold your breath. If they had names of companies do you think they wouldn't name them.Yet more project fear. Or maybe they mean companies like Peugeot, perhaps closing down their Stoke Engines plant and huge Ryton assembly line and relocating to mainland Europe. Except that already happened 10 years ago, when we were as far as I remember in the EU, a move facilitated by EU grants to Peugeot.Losing thousands of jobs in Coventry. More bad brexit news ,ING the Dutch Banking concern are creating new jobs in the City, indeed moving jobs from Brussels (oh the irony) to London. So the exact opposite of what we were told would happen. Indeed the IMF one of their beloved experts have confirmed that the UK is the fastest growing economy in the G7. Yesterday showed how much some people seemingly hate their own country. Instead of cheering the great news for the North East and the UK, all they could do is whine and carp, perhaps an indication of where their true loyalties lie. They seem more interested in scoring political points, and would rather see bad news for the country if it means aiding their perverse viewpoint. It is clear the Great Remain Sulk goes on. We can only properly judge if Brexit was right or wrong 5 or 6 years down the track. -

So the Treasury 'experts' forecast only 4 months ago that we would now be in recession predicting negative growth of 0.1% , instead we actually see a post brexit vote growth of 0.5%,yet again another Project Fear proved to be totally wrong. Nissan today announces huge new investment in the UK, 2 new cars being produced in Sunderland so yet another Project Fear scare that proved groundless. Yesterday the BBC went to Newry, which has shown a huge increase (over 60% increase in cars coming over the border since June 23rd) to take advantage of the competitive pound, traders said business was booming.since June 23rd In comparison on food prices the UK was massively cheaper on comparable prices. A box of Kellogs cornflakes was £2 in Newry, and was 3 euros in the Republic, So you should be thankful that you are not doing your weekly shop in the Irish Republic. You are to economics what Philip Green is to retail. -

I am perfectly happy for people to have different views, indeed if we all shared the same opinions it would be a boring world. The fact you can't seem to grasp is we had the arguments/debates months ago, we then had a vote, but you just won't accept the vote. Indeed maybe some brexiteers may not of accepted the vote,if the vote had been the other way, we don't know that for sure , but it wouldn't have made it right though. The referendum in the 1970's was accepted by the overwhelming majority back then.I don't remember back then there being any mention of EU Parliaments, the ECJ, single currencies, EU Presidents,EU flags, EU anthems,oh no it was just about free trade. As has been said before, the pound devalued after we left the ERM ,and the economy boomed, despite the consensus of the establishment experts, and of course the 'simple people' were told by experts that not joining the Euro would be a disaster for the UK in terms of trade , inward investment and for the City of London. And yet you still wonder why ordinary people, happily ignore the so called experts. -

So speaks the voice of the morally superior arrogant elite. The poor stupid people didn't really know what they voted for, ha ha ha. The vote to leave was the biggest vote ever, the size of the majority is irrelevant. If you win the Premiership on goal difference you still get to win it. I believe all the regions of England voted to leave apart from London,as well as Wales. You do realise parts of Scotland were and always have been 'agitating for independence for years'. Indeed as your beloved EU made crystal clear if they had voted for independence in 2014,they would have been outside the EU. Clearly Sturgeon and indeed 45% of the population weren't that bothered about EU membership just 2 years ago. So if Corbyn wins the next election, unlikely I know, would he have to implement parts of the Conservative manifesto just because millions of people have voted Tory and he needs to reflect their wishes. As for the future I'm still waiting for the emergency budget , the collapse in house prices, a falling stock market, the recession et al. -

So, the argument being put forward was that he writes for the Mail and so would be automatically for leave, when the Mail on Sunday was staunchly for remain. No the vote said we want to leave the EU, indeed it didn't say we want to half leave or remain in parts of the EU,and both sides are on the public record that we would be leaving the single market. The trade deal we get is something that could not be put in any referendum, as we couldn't possibly know at the time, what that deal is.You don't know every single decision a government will make when you elect them. Indeed Clegg broke an election promise within days of being elected. So what do the 16 million remain voters want ? The idea they all want the same is laughable. Does Corbyn want a Europe like Blair, or Osborne want the same as the leader of Unite. The reality is you and many people like you, simply refuse to accept the result, and continue to seek any way possible to thwart the result, fortunately many people who voted remain have accepted the result. Indeed some of the harshest critics of remoaners like you are actually people, who initially voted for remain. Parliament voted overwhelmingly for a referendum, and it was made clear that they would accept the result and implement it. The result was clear, You just appear as a sore and bitter loser. You lost and when you wake tomorrow you will have still have lost. -

Except he writes for the Mail on Sunday not the Daily Mail, and of course the Mail on Sunday was for Remain not leave. Plus of course Peter Hitchen in his youth was an extreme left winger, so he has examined politics from both sides. Over the last few weeks the Remain side mantra has been yes we voted to leave the EU, but not the single market and customs union, and that people were not aware that leaving the EU also meant leaving the single market. Yesterday on the Daily Politics Nick Clegg again repeated that assertion. Unbelievably the BBC (yes the BBC)and Io Coburn were able to run clips were Cameron and Osborne made it crystal clear if we voted leave, we would leave the single market. They also showed clips of Leadson,Boris and Gove all confirming that we would also be leaving the single market. The face of Clegg at the end of the clip was priceless, as he tried to bluster his way out of it Late last night on This Week, Andrew Neil put it to Chucka Umumna that the only thing both sides agreed on pre referendum, was that voting to leave, would mean us leaving the single market, and he again he had to accept reluctantly that both sides had indeed made it clear we would leave the single market. As Portillo said the idea that the PM could come back from talks and say we still can't control our borders, we still are under the control of the ECJ, and we still can't strike independent trade deals is laughable. The fact that over 3 months since the vote, people are still refusing to accept the outcome, just shows the utter arrogance of some people and their complete contempt for democracy. -

All this would be fine if you actually knew what you were on about. The thing is we have been down this road twice in the last 20 years and both times economic 'experts' like you have been proven totally wrong. Back in the 1990's we were told by economic half wits like you that joining the ERM was vital to the UK economy, what actually happened interest rates soared to 15% as we shadowed the mark, house repossessions soared as people struggled to pay their mortgages. We then left the ERM interests fell to a more sustainable level, the pound devalued, and guess what ,the economy boomed and we went on one of the most sustained growth periods in the nations history. 10 years later the same so called experts , the CBI et al all told we needed to join the EURO, that if we didn't, jobs and investments would dry up, foreign investment would head to mainland europe, and yet again the exact opposite happened. The so called experts were again proven to be totally wrong. So you will forgive us if a lot of people take no notice of your hubris, and bold claims. As for food prices, really ???in an EU that has the Common Agricultural Policy that adds around 20% to food prices, and which even Euro fanatics admits needs reform, hey we have only been waiting about 20 years for that to happen. Once we leave the customs union we can source food from other countries without the trade tariffs that the EU currently imposes on them, which should lead to lower food prices. Your side were wrong on the ERM, you were proven wrong on the Euro, and you will be proved wrong long term on Brexit, Maybe should worry more about the Italian banking crisis, the sovereign debt crisis sweeping Southern Europe, the ongoing migrant crisis now threatening to destroy your beloved EU. -

Yet another one refusing to accept democracy, when people don't vote the way you wish them too.We had a vote on June 23rd and we clearly voted to leave the corrupt cartel known as the EU, Your side lost, what part of 'we voted to leave the EU ,don't you understand. I expect every person on this forum has been on the losing side in votes, it happens get over it. Your side in the referendum had the whole government machine behind them including the huge resources of the civil service.Cameron was allowed to spend over £9 million of taxpayer money on pro EU propaganda. You had half of the Tory party, most of the Cabinet, virtually all of the Labour Party, the LIb Dems, SNP, Plaid Cymru,Greens, SInn Fein/IRA. The CBI,TUC,NFU,Unite, Unison, big business threatening their employees to vote remain. The EU funded BBC spouting pro EU propaganda 24/7, Sky,ITV and Channel 4 all supporting the Remain side. Even large sections of the Press, MIrror ,Guardian,Times,FT,Observer, Mail on Sunday,People were all on the Remain side, Cameron even drafted Obama in to threaten us,and he even begged other foreign leaders to support the remain side. And yet you claim the vote was unfair. and that people didn't know what they were voting for. It is blissfully ironic and symbolic that one of your biggest Remain supporters Christine Lagarde head of the IMF will be shortly standing trial in a Paris courtroom, for financial irregularities and corruption,, Somethings are beyond parody. -

Don't you just love the continuing butt hurt of the remaniacs. Dry your eyes. You can just picture the Duchess of Sherborne on the Poole harbour front, holding hands with his new best mates, and fellow virtue signallers,Yvette Cooper,Diane Abbott,Bob Geldof ad Eddie Izzard, forlornly holding up their refugees welcome signs, whilst gazing over the channel to a distant Brussels their beloved capital. One of the many reasons for the fall in sterling has been quantitative easing,or printing money in old terms, allied to the fact we now have record low bank rates. But inflation isn't a problem in the global economy, in fact deflation is a far greater risk.Fortunately many years ago we ignored the so called experts you worship and didn't join the Euro.So we still have control of our domestic monetary policy. The MPC can quite easily tighten monetary policy if it so wishes by raising interest rates. Still look on the bright side, we avoided Osborne's imaginary punishment budgets, I think we may just have escaped WW3,and your beloved IMF has admitted it got its post brexit analysis wrong, and we are the fastest growing economy in the G7. The FT100 and FT250 are at near record levels, meaning millions of ordinary working people are seeing a huge boost to their pension policies. House prices haven't collapsed, there are no food shortages in the shops, try Venezuela for that. The ex Australian PM Tony Abbott admitted he let out a quiet cheer when we voted for freedom, and said that most of the English speaking Commonwealth will be quietly delighted we have voted to leave.Indeed I believe only last week there was an official delegation from Australia in London to open trade talks with the UK,.- 521 replies

The only thing that changes in speedway every season is the year. The only real surprise is that people continue to be surprised by the antics that Uncle Matt pulls every season. When was the last season that Poole weren't being accused of underhand moves? It always follow the same predictable pattern, rumours which grow by the day, until the predicted move is confirmed. Generally followed by the Star's Comical Ali being wheeled out, seeking to defend the indefensible, Next comes the same 5 or 6 of the Poole ultras on here to fanatically defend the great dictator, either oblivious or uncaring of the sheer contempt fans of every other track holds him in,whilst the sport carries on its downward spiral, as yet more fans walk away. Surprisingly some of the most vituperative comments on here come from the same people who staunchly backed the very same guy back in 2010.However as many Poole fans rightly point out how can you really blame Ford, the real blame lies with the other Promoters who supinely lay on their back whilst Ford tickles their .tummy. As many people have often asked, why?, they can't all be that stupid.,can they? What hold does he have on them? The only real surprise is that they didn't re-asses Lindback's average to 7.00000001.

Well mystic meg finally calls something right, and winning by 4 points as well, ,There seems something rather poetic about winning by 4 points just now, just a shame the final score wasn't 52 to 48.
