Went past it a couple of weeks ago - it is currently just waste ground being used to park buses on!

Paul Whitt driving a lorry??? This I would love to see! Bless him - Paul was a bit favourite of mine at Hackney and a lovely guy also.

2005 Benfield Wildcards
Robyn1972 replied to Splatty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think Hans is determined to do enough in the final rounds to ensure either automatic inclusion OR a permanent place.......agree with whoever said that Scotty will get in on the ground that if it hadn't been for the injury he would have been top eight anyway. It is a shame but Mark Loram would indeed appear to be an unlikely inclusion, and sad to say it but I can't really see we have any more brits who can hope to get in next year either. Floppy has gone well this season but I think that 1) his age and 2) his patchy past form will go against him. After that we have some good up and comers who will likely make it to the GP's eventually, but aren't ready yet.......Neath and Bird to name two. Would imagine if his form carries on well Kim Jansson stands a good chance of a wildcard in Sweden in 2005. Jesper Jensen hasn't done enough this year to get in for next IMO. Give him another couple of years and maybe...... -
Sad news indeed, and how strange after we mentioned him just a few weeks ago. Mike always had a great sense of fun - that is the thing I remember best about him. On away trips if you followed the laughter you would usually find Mike at the source! All the best to Alisdair and the rest of Mike's family. Thanks Bryn for passing on the news. Robyn

Sorry to be something of a pedant but: Medium = singular Media = plural Medias = doesn't exist! Just curious Chris - how good is your Danish?
-
Looks like this one's heading that way anyway!
-
John Louis is still involved in speedway........!!! (Oh - was that not QUITE what you meant??!)
-
Oh yes - remember that one. There I was cheering for Hackney to win, but with a certain degree of, let's say, Ipswich interest! Talk about split personality!
-
He did Bryn! And no, before you say it, Roly WASN'T a bridesmaid!!!!!
-
Ah, but Pete - apparently according to others on here, as it was Pedersen he kicked it was alright.......
-
Remember Veggie well - he was a laugh! Last time I heard from Roly he'd given speedway up for good he assured me, and was doing well running his own business. Have lost contact with him over the past few years though so if anyone knows how to find him now.......! Last address I had was in Beckenham I think. We had some cracking junior sides at Ipswich - Darren Fitch, Shaun Tacey, Lol Hare etc are three that spring to mind from about 1991......good times! Shame that both Darren and Lol have had to give up through injuries, and Shaun went over to the Dark Side.....King Lynn!

You seem determined to turn this incident into a sort of hans andersen incident... jason didnt complain about it , he knew what he had done was wrong... end of story... I think you would have done the same if you were in his situation I didn't mention Hans - this thread is about Crump, not Hans. Also, to say that "I seem determined" to do anything with it is a bit much as that was my first post in the thread. I assume you are getting me mixed up with someone else.....I'll just wait for your apology shall I?! Yes, he knew what he did was wrong, fair comment there. However, the thought of doing such a thing should never have even entered his head! As for you thinking I would have done the same thing....sorry, wrong again.

Right - presumably your aim by posting pointless conmments like this is to put people off sponsoring speedway altogether? Sounds to me like the Poole Tourism people should be applauded for the amount they are doing for speedway in the town, not slagged off for it by small minded fools who can't see what is good for the sport. Of course it would be good for speedway as a whole for ALL teams to have British riders, and as many as possible, but at the moment Poole are breaking no rules by building their team in this way.

Sorry Philip - you can't have been reading these forums in the days after the World Cup........there are plenty of us who were posting in favour of Hans then too! As I've said before, unless anyone on here is claiming mind-reading powers then there is still only ONE person who knows what was going through Hans' head during that race, and that is Hans himself. As for team GB fans "forgetting" well, I think it can be said that there are a few on here who have attained sufficient maturity in their lives to put defeat behind them and look to the future.

Because too many people in this country are poor losers who cannot accept being beaten. When as a nation we are able en masse to start taking responsibility for not doing well enough, we will improve massively in the World standings in many sports as there will be a great drive to improve via training of youngsters etc.
-
The point which seems to have been missed is that a rider kicking another rider is NOT a racing incident! It was closer to an unprovoked assault, but whichever way, it has nothing to do with racing. I hope Nicki puts in a complaint about him.....hard riding is one thing, but behaviour of that type has no place in any sport.
-
To be fair you can leave Chris out of that - he was actually pleased to see Hans winning, and bearing in mind how well Hans was going at times on Thursday, not as surprised as most!! Sky and Havvy were clearly attempting to encourage him to have a pop and I thought he was very professional not to rise to it in any way.
-
You weren't watching very hard then - he certainly did!
-
Phew! Thank goodness for that!
-
What a sensible post from CrazySue there. The word "supposedly" is key I think.....we NONE of us know what was going through Hans head during that race. The ONLY person who does is Hans. Judging by what I heard tonight, Sky are determined to carry on sitrring the whole thing up. Had team GB been three points in fronht going into the final heat the result wouldn't have mattered......we simply did not score enough points on the night to secure the win. We now need to be looking forward to next year, and cheering on the "other" team GB in the olympics now, NOT dwelling on what might have been "if only"
-
Good on Hans - in spite of all the hassle he's put up with other the past few weeks he's pulled through and shown everyone that he can keep a cool head regardless. Good Man!

Well said Mad 3:16. Read through some of the rubbish on here and quite frankly it's just not worth replying to.But i notice some of the people having a go at team GB, or the ref, or saying sour grapes etc support other countries.I bet none of them actually come from THAT country. They are the type of people that give this country a losing mentality, the mentality they speak so often about.Go away Glory Hunters.I have about as much respect for you as Hans 'Sh**house' Andersen. You two should be ashamed of yourselves - what a ludicrous way of behaving. Whatever happened (and I didn't see it so am not going to comment) resorting to mindless violence will have no other effect than getting our sport the kind of bad name which has dogged others for a long while.

VV - Bryn may have copies... I used to love reading the KN every week - also Birdbrain in the programme - great laughs from that (always suspected Bryn of that too.....) The phrase which always sticks in my mind is "the rotund pusher with the fruity language" for some reason - a regular "character" in more ways than one at Waterden Road who cropped up most weeks. A brilliant piece of writing anyway. Sadly all my copies of both KN and the Hackney programme's got mildew in the loft and had to be thrown away !

ROFLMAO!!!

Nah - I'm too young to remember! Tigerblade - if the Simon Green crash is the one I'm thinking of I still remember getting the phone call from Maureen - a horrendous few days.
