Finally found him! I love Reg, watched an old BBC show and we were just cracking up at how every race Reg "missed the gate"! He's a treasure! (We didn't know he was a world class rider back in his day!!??) Speedway doesn't seem to have these characters anymore which is a bit of a shame. DW434EVA

I recently saw an old television show that had an eccentric chap who seemed to never win anything. He wore a gold helmet and every race claimed "i missed the gate". Can anyone tell me who this guy was, it's hilarious! I want to get a poster of him done up ;-) He always had his wife accompanying him and she had a dress sense that was....'unique"
