  1. Could well be that they are struggling to find a taker for their temp job. If you are a youngster that fancied their chances of scoring above your assessed 2.00 would you risk getting a real average knowing that you are getting dropped regardless, when that might stop you getting a team place elsewhere? If you signed that temp contract and didn't get above 2.00 then that might put you down the pecking order if another team looks for a 2 pointer later in the year. And like you say, if you are a 2nd string/reserve in the NDL, do you really want to finish last 3 times a night for a couple of months and deal with the stick that would come with not being on the pace?
  2. Well he managed to get to the 2nd bend in the lead a couple of times a match, sadly he regularly went backwards from there and almost never passed/re-passed anyone. Through whatever combination of the tracks generally being smaller, tighter and rougher than on the continent and a different rear tyre, Ivacic never performed as well as hoped/expected. However if say Poole were to sign him on a 4 at reserve I reckon that he could hold that ave as he would score well enough at home. Sadly there was no sign of improvement over the time that he was here to suggest that he'd be worth bringing back, and given the costs involved I very much doubt we'll ever know. PS personally I'd say Richard Juul, Kevin Wolbert and the 2024 Lee Complin were all far worse signings than Trent Leverington
  3. Ivacic was a good gater but offered nothing beyond that, and gave no hint of any improvement over the time he was at Glasgow. Could do a decent job as reserve at a gaters paradise on a 4 but would not be UK based and therefore expensive, plus he's in his 30s whereas Pearson and Hook were much younger. I would doubt that Ivacic will be back anywhere in the UK. Nick Morris is a favourite rider of Stewart Dickson, so may well become a Bandit mid-season once his ban is over.
  4. Keynan Rew has signed with Birmingham https://britishspeedway.co.uk/rowe-motor-oil-premiership/brummies-snap-up-rew/
  5. He got an 18 month ban (from 5/9/23), with 9 months suspended, then got an extra month's ban for comments/messages objecting to the original findings. He also got a fined both times. It's believed that he never paid the fines, so the 10 month suspension would not have started yet. The original suspension also required that he provide 2 months with of regular negative tests at his own expense before he is allowed back. Doubtful that he will ever return to speedway
  6. Bomber's own FB page (30th Oct) suggests that it wasn't a straightforward parting of the ways: "I have raced every season in full for British Speedway for the last 26 years and pride myself in giving my absolute all to every club I ride for on and off track, with professionalism. Speedway is a funny old sport at times, I urge fans of any rider or any club to not look through rose tinted glasses especially this time of year, there is always more to a story, I can confirm my story is going to be a good one one day, but only when I hang up my boots - which won’t be any time soon 👊 Bomber 💣"
  7. Looking at this article, and how the promotion describe the situation, I'd say that the last rider is likely to have an ave 2 points (or just under) higher than Vinnie Foord's ave. The way I read it they had 7 lined up to 38 points including Foord, and dropped/replaced Foord when the limit went to 40 https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/24738479.poole-pirates-danny-ford-vinnie-foords-departure/ Not sure what that means for the other (unannounced) team places though
  8. He is still listed on the Oxford Cheetahs website as part of their team plans, but the rumour keeps getting repeated and it only seems to be him going to Glasgow, not anywhere else. I guess we'll find out when the Tigers announce their 7 (or at least announce enough that his ave no longer fits or no longer makes sense to fill the gap) https://oxfordspeedway.club/team/2025-oxford-cheetahs/
  9. He was announced by Oxford, but he has taken down his own social media post announcing the he will be back at Oxford. As I understand it he has fallen out with Oxford to the extent that he isn't going to be riding for the Cheetahs next season. Not sure where the story/rumour originates from, or how true it is though. I believe Chris Harris was mentoring him last year which might be where the Glasgow rumours come from? Young British rider with potential and he has proved that he knows the quickest way round Ashfield so I get why Glasgow would be interested if he was available
  10. My trading if good from the BSPA website is that it was James' choice not to be back (well sort of, his Polish commitments rule him out as he "can't make it work" with a Friday track) https://britishspeedway.co.uk/cab-direct-championship/pearson-on-the-move/
  11. Bomber will be back at Glasgow next year. He loves the Ashfield track, and Glasgow wouldn't let him go for the same reason that most fans want their team to sign him...top class entertainment every meeting. Given what Cami Brown has said about the Tigers team, being led by an experienced UK based rider that will maintain his average and use his experience to bring on the youth in the team, Bomber will be a Tiger again next year
  12. That was an earlier rumour but seems that he is not in the Glasgow 1-7, but I believe that Max Perry will be.
  13. Sadly no Robert Lambert in the UK this season https://www.fimspeedway.com/news/chapman-missed-out-in-lambert-bid-as-he-reveals-stars-seven
  14. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/miscellaneous/scb-statement-nick-morris-3/ 12th July assuming that he paid the fine on time. If he didn't, then I believe that the suspension (2 years) starts from the date that the fine got/gets paid.
  15. Could be wrong, but "frantic Friday" might be 6 different announcements over the course of the day
