Adams was one of the few riders I would have paid money to see ride round on his own. Awesome style and superb throttle control, he was brilliant at avoiding the 'Rooster Tail' of the rider in front and I loved watching him do the big cutback coming off bend two at Lynn. So ironic that one of Speedway's least injury prone riders ended up the way he did. As an aside, with regard to the best rider that was never world champ I think Henka is in the running for that one.

Too much time on my hands at work tonight and was just thinking. Is the sport slightly bereft of 'characters' these days. I remember the Michael Lee days at Lynn as a kid and went with my parents during '76' and '77' but was then lost to the sport until 1995. Since then have been a Speedway fanatic. I'm too young to have seen Peter Craven and don't remember seeing Zenon Plech so this list starts at 1995. Which riders would you recognise if you just saw a silhouette picture of them whilst riding? Discuss........ 1. Mark Loram- Furiously wa~#ing the throttle with one knee under his chin whilst passing everyone from the back. 2. Henka Gustafsson- Moving around all over the bike. 3. Bobby Ott-Bike upright with rider at ninety degrees. 4. Krzysztof Cegielski-Rubber man. 5. John 'Cowboy' Cook-Pulling wheelies and whipping his horse. 6. Ben Howe-Leg back and millimeters from the fence. 7. Joe Screen-Purely for the (low) position of his handlebars. 8. Todd Wiltshire-Always rested his left foot on the engine casing, never on the footrest. 9. Slawomir Drabik-Sitting on the bike sideways.

Zagar is one of the most stylish riders of all time. I've always thought of him as a more aggressive Leigh Adams. Agree that he is now in the twighlight of his career but he's a class act. Damn good bloke too.

King's Lynn Stars 2025

I think Mr. Laguta/Basso/Starmer fan should keep politics out of a Speedway forum! I am unable to type what I think............... -

If Chris Harris signed for Lynn I would turn up to a lot more meetings. I also think Simon Lambert should be given a birth. Controversial maybe, but the amount of times the guy has come in and done a job for us is commendable, as is his attitude. Most riders would question why they are only called upon at a certain time of season because no one else is available, or as an attrition replacement, but he doesn't. He gets on with it and usually scores more points than anyone predicted. -
Best TV Speedway Broadcaster.

Screensport were great back in the day with Dave Lanning. "And a why thy droive from the starrrrt!" Also have to mention that pre-digital era, I used to manually turn my dish a few degrees to the left (North East I think) and pick up Polsat for free. Along with some, err, Dutch channels.............. -
King's Lynn Stars 2025

I personally would love to see us go into the Championship. More teams and a better chance of being competitive at that level. Surely more cost effective for the promotion also. Only negative as far as I'm concerned is that most of the other tracks are pretty distant if you like going to away meetings. I thought the last stint in the lower tier with Daniel Nermark at the helm made for excellent entertainment. -
Lions v Aces POF 2nd leg
Zagarmeister replied to AceBelle's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm in the trench and have my tin hat on so here goes. Congratulations to Belle Vue who were the best team by far, but I can't be the only person on this forum that never watches meetings from Leicester. I made an exception on Thursday and feel even more vindicated in having that mindset. Apart from a rider nicking it on the run in to the flag or a tussle in the first turn, has there actually EVER been an overtake at Beaumont Park? I know it's been said countless times before, but they had Carte Blanche to build a track of what ever size and shape they wanted and they built this! The good folk of Leicester deserve better than having to watch this every week. -
Brilliant news!

Eurosport, terrible professionalism.

And the way she gasps for air in between every word! And as for the stupid hashtag........... -
You 'gotta believe' certain riders will be 'going along nicely' And once the track settles down we'll be in for some 'smashing' racing........... Um err..........

Playing devil's advocate I feel that ideally the atmosphere at speedway meetings should be more football like in general. I would never condone foul language in front of children or physical violence. But I never understood the King's Lynn mantra of 'I don't care if we lose as long as I see decent racing'.
