  2. Okgeordie2, Your posting got lost when the forum was moved to this new server. You will have to post it again, sorry

  7. Sean Wilson – DVD? Does anyone know if there are plans to do a DVD on Sean’s 20 years in speedway? It Would make a cracking dvd..... How about Part 1 the last 20 years and Part 2 the cracker meeting. If there is one planned, get plenty of interviews in with Sean rather than just all racing.
  8. Last year I did the same and 84.40% voted NO to keeping the Tactical Ride / Tactical Substitute. The new ruling basically allows a team managers to nominate two riders whose points can count as double if a team is eight nine points behind. Have your views changed? So what do you think of it?
  9. Sean’s website has been updated with details about the Sean’s Cracker meeting and include sponsorship forms (MS word Document) for many different levels sponsorship. The first even is on the 3rd of November 2005 @ Halifax. More details here
  10. With a massive £15,000 in Prize money I sure GP riders will be reading this post right here and be thinking of giving Sean a ring. With several very good corporate hospitality suites Sheffield Speedway has it is a great place for companies and individuals to show there appreciation to Sean. There are loads of different levels of sponsorship packages available.
  11. Don’t forget that Sean Wilson’s 20 year celebration meeting – The Sean Cracker will be held at Sheffield’s Owlerton Stadium this Sunday March 19 at 5:00 pm. The line up contains a glittering array of the world’s top speedway stars, and is certain to be a great afternoon out. 1. Sean Wilson 2. Chris Harris 3. Ryan Sullivan 4. Leigh Adams 5. Simon Stead 6. Andre Compton 7. David Norris 8. Nicki Pedersen 9. Gary Havelock 10. Sebastian Ulamek 11. Billy Hamill 12. Joe Screen 13. Steve Johnston 14. Jason Crump 15. Fredrik Lindgren 16. Scott Nicholls Reserves 17. Ben Wilson 18. Kyle Legault There is a £15,000 prize fund comprising a 2006 model GSX-R 600 superbike, a brand new GM engine, a Cooper replica 125 X-sport dirt bike and a Teng tools stacking tool box. There is a free DVD for the first 3000 fans through the gates, the back straight viewing area will be open for the first time since the world cup of 2002, and one of the most outstanding programmes ever seen at a speedway meeting – certainly a collectors item. After the meeting there will be an auction in the Panorama room where items such as Sean’s 20 year celebration meeting kevlars, unique paintings of Sean and all the rider’s race jackets for the event will be up for grabs. Get there early the gates open at 3:00 pm – it really is going to be a CRACKER.
  12. Well done to all the British riders, good experience for the future, and next years competition. Nice to see so many of you have been talking about them, opposed to the foreigners in your team.
  13. Next years line up i think will probably be: 1 Rickardson 2 Crump 3 Nikki P 4 Adams 5 Hancock 6 Bjarne P 7 Gollob 8 Jonsson 9 Hampel 10 Nicholls 11 Lindback 12 Richardson / Loram. 13 Andersen 14 Zagar 15 ? They should speak to Mark Loram and ask him how interested his is and what support team / sponsors etc he has. Then if he REALLY wants to be back in the GP give him the ride instead of Lee Richardson. Would certainly make it more interesting.
  14. "Sheffield are also pleased to be staging a second half academy fixture featuring some of Britain's best young under-16's. The meeting will be staged over eight races and fans are urged to stay behind and give the youngsters some encouragement." http://www.sheffieldspeedway.com/
  15. Thanks to Peter Ballinger for the quality instructions on getting from the airport and to the GP. Super GP thanks to Scotty and the brilliant atmosphere on the 3rd bend (loads of brits there, even spotted a few with the same race cards! There was only about 6 of us on the tram back from the GP, slight disappointment that GP closed so quickly afterwards and was walked out of the grounds by the police while trying to talk to Tony Steele, they would not even give us ‘two minutes’ warning to leave. Visited nearly every major attraction in the guidebook included the 299 steps up Saint Vitus Cathedral at the Castle….Think I will give all them steps a miss next year!. The lift in the TV tower is a much better idea and the lift up Petrin Hill I was a bit tired at the British Final in Legends but was good with about forty people in there. I wonder how many people would have been there if there were no BSF! Come to think of it some people may have never met each other, unofficially of course. Didn’t have a single problem for the whole week we were there, but didn’t go into town on the Saturday night. If you drink in pubs like the George and the Dragon then you have only yourselves to blame, no offence to yourself though Tsunami. Walked up Wenslasus Square a couple of times but never even thought about eating or drinking in that direct area, apart from Lucerna Music Bar which is a converted theatre playing 70 and 80’s on the Friday night. Which was good fun, relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent in all the restaurants we ate in, some very good ones such as Kolkovna close to the old town and towards the Jewish area as well as some local to our Hotel. Nice cocktail bar near hotel called Jet Set for the odd drink or three! The Ibis Hotel at Andel was pretty awful and I really would not recommend it for next year, well not until my place is securely booked!
  16. Still raining here, plenty of standing water on the road and the tram tracks, off to practice later, although dont expect to see much in the way of bikes.
  17. Well it's over and out till I get back from Prague (but will probably have a quick look in here now and again!) Arrive on Tuesday till the following Tuesday and will hopefully see some of you around Prague. PM me if people are meeting up somewhere. Will be going to the Practice on the Friday afternoon and then standing for the GP. Look out for the 45 Team Tour Banner. ala Joe. Will be in Legends for British Final. Have fun. Some printable race cards.. gpprint.pdf gpprint_1.pdf
  18. Cannot see riders dropping out if they get offered a place unless they are retiring from the sport. They would stand a large risk of their major sponsor dropping them!
  19. Can we start the betting Steve? I am away from Friday afternoon.
  20. Reading comments on the net, Andel sounds Vgood Staying just around the corner in the Ibis.
  21. Thanks Rob. I have read on a couple of websites that as well as validating your ticket you should also out your name and the date of birth on it. Might be a new thing? http://www.travel.cz/guide/17/index_en.html Also do not cross a road when the (pelican crossing) traffic light is RED. Even if there is no traffic about! Maximum fine is 1000 crowns, but often 200 crowns.

  23. Thanks Steve, Shame you are not going. I will have couple of bottle of Budvar for you. I will have a look out for the 'Blue Duckling'. Might give 'Drake's Club' a miss, think that’s the one Shoddy always goes on about or was that ‘Captain Nemo's’
  24. I am looking forward to my first visit to Prague. Here are some directions which were posted on the forum a year or two back. Unfortunately I have forgotten who posted it! (I think it was the kind person who sent me the Prague DVD but not sure?) Please note the details could have changed since they were originally posted. Public Transport from the Airport Upon clearing passport control, you will pass through some automatic frosted glass doors, leading you into the Entrance to the Airport. To your left will be an automatic money exchange machine, to your right some stairs leading upwards. Infront, and to the right are car rental desks, public information desks, etc. It is from the public information desks that you can purchase 3 day (or even 5 day) public transport passes. These give you access to buses, trams, and underground. Exit the building via the front exit, and go straight ahead over 2 or 3 zebra crossings, following the signs for the 119 Bus. After 100 yards or so, the roads conclude with a standard road, from where you can pick up the 119 Bus. The 119 Bus runs from the airport to the underground stop at “Dejvicka”, and only to “Dejvicka”, i.e. it is the Airport Shuttle. Once aboard the bus, stamp your travel passes in the on board ticket machines. This validates your tickets, and the period starts from the moment you stamp your tickets. Note: You might also have to put your DOB and sign the back of the pass but not sure if this is correct or not ? Dejvicka is where you can pick up the Underground (Green Line – Line A), and is about 3-4 miles journey on the bus from the airport. It takes about 15-20 minutes. Just get off when everyone gets off. The bus goes no further than Dejvicka, apart from back to the Airport. Being foreign, the bus will be on the correct side of the road for the Underground station. Go into Dejvicka Station, watch out for the fast escalators as they are easy to fall down after a tiring journey especially when you are loaded up with cases. (There speaks the voice of experience :!: ) Once in Dejvicka station, continue down to the platforms, the train will only be going in one direction from Dejvicka, and indeed arriving from one direction, as Dejvicka is the first stop on the line. You will not need to stamp your tickets again at any time whilst in Prague, just look after them, and if a ordinary looking bloke (ie. No uniform) approaches you and shows you a “Sherrifs” Badge, he will be a ticket inspector, just show him your ticket and you’ll be OK. Travel on the Underground from Dejvicka all the way through to the most appropriate station to your hotel / accomodation. Stops on Line A are as follows. Dejvicka Hradcanska Malostranska Staromestska Mustek Muzeum Hlavni Madazi Nam Miru Jiriho z Podebrad (the TV Tower stop) Flora Zelivskeho Strasnicka Stalka Getting to Stadion Marketa Take the Underground to Malostranska station (Green line). Exit Malostranska station to street level, where you can pick up the No.22 tram which will take you up to the area of Prague called “Brevnov”. This is where the Speedway is. The tram lines run in the middle of the road, accordingly the tram stops are in the middle also. You will need the No.22 that is going uphill, rather than the one going downhill back into town. Once on the No.22, watch for the stops on the onboard displays, and the maps that are in the carriages. There are around 20 stops beofre you'll need to get off, but its a nice route up past the Castle. You need to get off at the stop "Vypich", rather than "Brevnov". You will see the stadium up on the hill from Brevnov, but Vypich is closer to the Stadion Marketa. Practice: July 8th, 2005 Time: 3:00 PM Think this is local time? Q. Are there some bars near the stadium? Q. Saturday afternoon. What is the best place to soak up the atmosphere for the build up to the GP. Wenceslas Square or is it mainly spread out? Q. Can you get the tram back to town after the GP? What time do trams stop running? Sky Sports - Sun Jul 10 Championship of Great Britain SS1 For those who are staying in Prague on Sunday night, the Championship of Great Britain will be live on Skysports 1. It starts at 7:00pm GMT. There are several sports bars in Prague which include… Legends Location: Near to the old town. http://www.legends.cz/ Jagr's Sports Bar Location: Near to Wenceslas Square. http://www.praguepubs.co.uk/pubs_details.php?id=50 Q. Any recommendations from people who have been before? Think I might try Legends as it not too close to Wenceslas Square. Pickpockets Like all major tourist cities around the world, pickpocketers operate in busy locations in Prague. Read this website for simple advice…. http://www.livingprague.com/warning.htm Any other recommendations for the visit to Prague? PS. If you see a big motorway blade hidden around Prague please note down the location and give it to Ole Olsen!
  25. I will be going for a week as long as Robin Hood keeps running well
