  1. If stoke sign the likes of Gareth Isherw0000d and Jonathon Bethnell then they will fold in 1 year. Sorry to be blunt, but this is a make or break season for the Potters. The stay away fans will not return to a team of previous under acheivers. Barrie Evans might be a good start, but the only other assetts on Vog's list are Isherw0000d, Lowe and Tom Brown, and I heard a rumour he had retired????
  2. How can Stoke be so bad at promoting the product though, they have 2 pressmen, one of which does a good job, and I don't mean Neil Adams either. They have the people there, one of the best team managers in Malcolm Vasey, and the fans that want to support the team, the website and forum is full of good ideas, but why can't the promotion see their own failings? I can only come to the conclusion that Dave and Caroline Tattum are the ones holding the Potters back. Perhaps its time to see if someone else is able to take the team forward?
  3. Self serving promoters. With no interest in British speedway, just their own clubs. How many clubs run training schools, or give young riders the opportunity to practice. I understand tracks that have other events staged there, Football, Rugby or Banger racing etc. Vojens is a copy of Loomer road in Stoke (The track, not the facilities, I hasten to add). A track that is not used for anything else, the Danes practice there, so why not Team GB?
  4. Team GB will never be good enough to do anything in the SWC while we continue to allow second rate foreign riders to stop British riders from getting a team place. Why are Poland so good? They give Polish riders team places and a chance to ride in their top leagues. While we allow teams to track a team of non Brits we will always be second rate. Waits for the "little englander" comments to follow. Apart from that the GB lads did everything they could in tricky conditions. Well done to the Poles on a well deserved victory, from last place after 5 heats as well.
  5. Perhaps the Super 7 bit is the problem, its a Premier league event, so it should be in the Premier league section. Perhaps more posters would see the thread and question the secretive Masonic style qualifying criteria. Or are the BSPA looking to wind the PL fans up as well?
  6. So we have team events in the idividual section???? Are the BSPA running this forum now? I thought qualification was based on how many mates each promoter has on the managemsnt committee.
  7. There were more than enough passes tonight. Gollobs "team ride" with the Russian who was riding his nuts off to try to pass him, was class. Adams had some superb first bends as well. If Monday night is as good then it will be an entertaining evening. Doubled my money with Skybets heat by heat deal as well.
  8. I second that Vog. I'll be there, so if the phone gets a signal I can text the evening meeting.
  9. Updates available HERE At present I think its a 20 heat 16 rider individual, but no news about anything else. I may be updating this from the track, so please be patient.
  10. Best not go there. Lets hope for a load of money for Steady and a safe meeting for all concerned.
  11. Are you updating Voglette? With a few more riders to be named it looks a good lineup.
  12. Robbie Kessler uses a Red baron symbol, and he is of Germanic decent.
  13. Never heard any germans bitching about "DER BOMBER" Gert Muller. Plus noone from France, Britain, Belgium, Holland or Luxenbourg were much bothered about "DER KAISER" Franz Beckenbauer. So its COME ON BOMBER!!!!!!
  14. I have been waiting to see if anyone would think that the bikes are the cause of a lot of the problems. I remember Jan Staechmann posting on the forum about the laydowns having on/off power while the uprights were more controllable. Maybe thats why riders don't want to be out on a very slippery track, and we all hark back to the good old days of black and white, where meetings went on regardless. The ELRC was the same as the PLRC of a few years ago and the Swindon Test match, riders decide if they will ride or not and the officials follow their lead, Speedway referees should all be ex riders, and their word should be final. The track looked ok on SKY, but I wasn't there so I can not comment on that, but the organisation looked shambolic with the riders (or some of the riders) badgering the referee ON CAMERA. If we are to see speedway grow through SKY, these scenes shouldn't be seen on the TV. That is the fault of the organisers and the ruling body of the sport.
  15. As much as I enjoy watching the racing at Stoke, and as good as the track is, the facilities are just not upto scratch. Coventry is the ideal place to stage the meeting, or on good friday at Cardiff, and have the GP on the Saturday after, it would give the GP riders that can be bothered with the British league an advantage, and if it is raining, so what. I don't think the promotion and trackstaff at Poole can be blamed for riders not wanting to race, after watching the Superbikes race on a river at Donnington, it is making this sport a mockery. Since when have the riders had the power to refuse to ride, as has been stated earlier, the ref should should have put the 2 minutes on and excluded all those that didn't get to the tapes, they didn't even give it a try. For the second SKY meeting on the trot the riders have shown the sport up, I thought they were professionals??
  16. Earl Street former home of "The Kings" 53 05' 31.37" N, 2 25' 56.80" W
  17. I don't think that it was the refs fault, in Gollob, Rickkardson and Andersen we have 3 riders who will deliberately lean on an opponent and put down their bikes in an attempt to get a rerun and an exclusion. It is the ultimate Professional foul, just the same as staying down on the track to get a rerun when your partner is on the recieving end of a 5-1 and you fall off. The rules were not written for the likes of these cheats, and referees will need to be very good to see it in the short time they are allowed to make their decisions, when a televised meeting is running late as tonights was.
  18. Its a simple solution, only allow foreign riders to have an 8 point or more average. That will cut the cheap dross that is blocking the leagues for the British riders.
  19. Another intelligent post from Pinny. It seems not just Crumpy has to grow up.
  20. Rickardsson is a very clever rider, he knows just what he can get away with, Crumpy is an out and out racer, just like his dad. Both are capable of winning GP's. It shows that its better to race with your head than your Heart, most of the time. And when Sky do try and interview Trick after a bad race his mechanics muscle the interviewer out of his garage, all round the team is cleverer at PR. Probably because Speedway is such big buisness in Sweden, and not here or in Oz.
  21. Was this a bit tongue in cheek after Scotts use of the F-word in an interview with Sophie? Crumpy- 3 exclusions, 2 wrongly IMHO, what do you expect, how calm would you be, when has slamming your helmet onto a barrier become a crime? I think most of us would have done the same. He has just chucked a bucketload of points away against Trick, I think he was entitled to be a bit peed off. Trick- Mr "I'm not doing too well I'll just get someone to nudge me go down, change my bike and win the re-run"Rickardsson, is the ultimate professional. The wall of death against an Air fence, superb. Nikki P- How did he not get excluded first time when he put Bjarne into the fence(again)? I could see from his third ride he wanted to go wide into the 1st corner, so with 2 races to go and both in red there was going to be carnage. If he is not calmed down soon someone will be seriously hurt by one of his skittles first corners.
  22. Hard but fair, yep I suppose so he would have flattened any rider outside of him last night, so thats fair. Even Nikki was laughing about knocking Bjarne off. He's a nutcase, but he is good to watch.
