OK I was being a little sarcastic in my post, but honestly has dropping to the NL helped Stoke? 2 years on and now we have riders on social media stating they haven't been paid. This didn't happen when they were PL, to my knowledge anyway. I honestly don't think the current Stoke promition are good for Stoke Speedway, they are keeping it going, but just how many have they driven away from Loomer rd? Getting those supporters back won't be easy, the Stoke track is one of the best I have watched speedway at and it's a shame the club is not still in the PL.

Is this the last year of the NL racing 3 years then?
-
So will there be some uplifting news for Lewis Bridger then?
-
Its the tip of a dangerous iceberg really, Bridger is not going to be the only rider to be losing sponsors in the present climate. If Doubling up/down helps then British riders should be able to. They are where the BSPA's focus should be, stuff any poxy EU rules, like they haven't got other things to worry about.

True

Hasn't he done this before.....I can't afford to ride speedway.....?
-
We were spoiled when Lee Complin rode for Stoke, Complin and Barker made a formidable pair. PL heatleader was probably as far as he could afford to go, which was a shame as he could have been up there with the EL 6/7 pointers on the right machinery, IMO.

This forum is not even a 10th of the British Speedway paying support, it is the most outspoken though. There should be a Brit in the GP, as there should be a Pole a Swede or a Dane. I couldn't give 2 hoots who the Danish wonderkind beat in Denmark. British Speedway is owed by the GP's, if only for providing a starting place for all of these damned Aussies. Yes some of them are very very good, but without the haven of an English speaking nation with a penchant for selecting foreign riders over their own home grown talent, where would they be? -

I will tout Woffinden for next years GP's, only because he IS the best British option at the moment. Once we lose the single Brit it will take years to get it back, so you can take your, "it doesn't matter if there is a Brit in the GP's" and shove it. If there is not a Brit in the GP's I will not be watching the GP's. If that makes me a little Englander then so be it. -

OK, Its an emotive subject, but we have been prevented from discussing Ward + others legal issues very strongly on here. Which is why whenever Wards name is mentioned there is always going to be the shadow of the unmentionable court case present. I have no idea what went on, but the few posts on here have enlightened me a little, but someone is alowed to have strong opinions on the goings on without being an idiot! Ward on the track is a fantastic talent, Ward off the track needs to do a lot of growing up, but he is only 20 and can do so. For all of you saying forget what happened because he was found Not Guilty, that just means that the CPS couldn't prove what happened broke the law, not that it didn't happen. There is a young lady out there that wishes she could forget it. -
I have to laugh at some of the posts on here. Do you think that there would ever be a point where Danish, Swedish or Polish fans would ever post on a forum for the GP to go ahead without one of their riders in the 15 riders at every GP? It may make me a Little Englander, but there has to be a British rider in the GP's. Just watch Sky's subscriptions drop without one and we all know that they won't let that happen. This is a minority forum following a minority sport and until there is a major overall of the way the sport is run in this country that's all it will be.

Top 8 from the previous year automatically qualify. From those that were not in the top 8. Two wild cards chosen by the hosting nation, to keep the locals happy. Saturday Afternoon meeting of the next best 16 riders, 20 heats to decide the next 6 places. The 6 qualifiers will have had to ride more, but should have an idea of the track and it's only 5 minutes of effort really. Haven't a clue how to pick the next best 16, but I would look at the top of the averages in Poland, Sweden and Denmark as a starting point, plus then let BSI choose their wildcards. Just my 2 pennethworth. -
And how many times has he been leading the British final before either being taken out or someone else causes the race to be stopped and Nichols or Harris has gone on to win the rerun? Woffinden just needs that little bit of luck that other riders seem to get, a bit like getting a wild card pick for the final of the qualifiers that is to be raced at Wolverhampton as a hypothetical scenario perhaps.

Would that be the same replay they showed twice yesterday and again today. -
Nichols and unfortunately Harris, have shown that they cannot take the mental side of the GP's. Harris needs to go back to square 1 with his gating, you cannot give the best riders in the world a 2 meter head start out of the gate every time and expect to be competitive. Nichols last GP season was a shocker, he has the confidence to win in league meetings, or in the presently very weak GB championship, but I still think he would not want to splash out on a season of GP's. Woffinden has the mental strength and the hunger to prove himself, I'm not 100% sure but didn't his GP challenge suffer because of injury this season? However, this whole debate just shows how the short term thinking of the BSPA has crippled British speedway, the constant influx of young foreign riders, some good, some poor has really hindered the chances of young Brits. The GB team manager drooling over Pooles next import yesterday, to add to their foreign legion is just one reason, but Poole are not alone, how many Elite league and Premier league teams have no British riders? Would the Poles, Danes and Swedes allow that to happen? There should be a Brit full time in the GP's and the only one that could survive and possibly grow into the role is Tai Woffinden. But the Cardiff wild card should not go to Harris or Nichols either, how are the next generation of young Brits going to experience the step up they need to make to survive in the GP's.

Last time a comment like that was put, the Plymouth meeting was postponed without a wheel turning, after a lot had paid to get in. I think I will pass on tonight.
