  1. Have to agree, in this instance Mr Ford seems to be a lot more media savvy than his team manager. I still think he is a cheating git when it comes to fiddling rules and averages though.
  2. So posting behind my real name is hiding is it? Starman2006, that's some name, did your parents not like you? Not having had the opportunity to manage a team, how do you know how long I would last?
  3. A shaved chimp could do a better job as Team GB manager, Jokers, tac rides and team selection have been rubbish. Bombers joker ride in the Semi Final was so obvious that most had it written in before the announcement, so what has he actually done as a team manager? Won with a team built on bending and changing the rules, that is not the sign of a good team manager. Helping young Brits in the Elite League, would be a good start, Middleditch would be a better Team Australia manager, at least we might get a chance when he cocks up a tactical ride with them...
  4. Middleditch should be sacked as team GB manager, not for the recent comments, but because he really isn't very good at the job.
  5. I think the comparison with Lindback is a good one. Perhaps the golden child does need some time to put his life in order. We all make mistakes, but we all don't get arrested continuously....
  6. Done, some interesting questions, don't expect the promoters to act on any of your suggestions though.
  7. Wilson was the reason that Jan Staechman had to retire, dirty b'stard. Pickers was a class act, with Stekkers they were the best 1 and 5 in the league when at Stoke (IMO). The season that Stekkers got taken out (go on Wilson sue me) and Pickers got hurt was a bad one for Stoke, 2005 I think it was, but I'm not 100% sure. He tried a comeback in 2007, but was not the rider he was, the blasts around the outside just weren't there. Quite understandably when he had spent so long out injured.
  8. Your belief in the SCB and BSPA is nice to see, and I'm sure that they will appreciate it. So speedway riders won't get paid now, thats after there won't be any insurance and that the riders are rubbish, whats the next line of attack I wonder. They already run succesful motorcycle racing series and brought in sponsors such as Red Bull and Monster, just as BSI have with the World cup, which is more than the BSPA have managed for a few years. Remember Gospeeds Janet and John selling PowerPoint presentation of last year. David bloody Cameron could run a better setup than the BSPA FFS.
  9. What does BSPA stand for again? Who signs the riders?
  10. And importing a bunch of second rate foreigners to ride for peanuts is?????
  11. Think that one up yourself, or did Matt tell you to post it?
  12. That didn't take much shaking to start to get the South West Mafia involved did it? Speedway in the UK is being run into the ground, if Sky do pull out after next season the Elite League teams will really be up the swanny, the PL will be forced to follow whatever the EL promoters desperately bring in to cling to their antiquated rules and set up, or we will have the he’s our rider and you can’t have him rubbish that we see in the closed seasons. The remaining GP superstars will bugger off to the continent and we will become a speedway backwater. Farfetched? Let’s come back in 5 years and see where we are.
  13. Having looked at the Arenacross videos and been to the Western beach race twice, these guys can run a very good meeting, the BSPA and the SCB could learn a lot from them. Most Speedway tracks are rented from other parties GRA for example, including Poole. So if the organisers went to the GRA they could hire the Poole track, use their own kit to prepare it, can't be any worse that normal, and run the meeting. Just how many Speedway fans actually give a toss whether its a BSPA meeting? There is no way that the SCB could stop an organised meeting with self employed riders taking place, footballers are not self employed before you compare them, on a track that is owned by non speedway owners. Oxford would be a good place to hold one thats for sure. All the SCB and amateur BSPA are looking at is their own self interest, not the interests of British Speedway.
  14. Good luck with "Uncle Len". He has already killed one team called the Kings, trust him as far as you can throw the track.
  15. The racing is no where near as good as in the upright days, the machinery now decides on who wins races, not always the rider, so some chenge within the safety fence does need to happen. I agree that the running of Speedway outside the fence does need to change though.
  16. None of the Tarmaced Circuits are in towns though are they, and I beliave Cadwell park has noise issues because of 1 house that was there after the track was set up. I understand where you're coming from Dean the noise and smell are powerful attractions to the sport, but if speedway does not adapt then the only funeral will be British speedways.
  17. If the electric speedway is cheaper to buy and run than normal noisy speedway it could be a huge step to getting young kids onto bikes, the bikes power can be turned up as the rider gets better, helping in the youngsters get better on the track, no curfew as theres no noise. They can then jump on a "proper" bike when they are ready and have the money to do so. It has to be an option to at least start to help Speedway get better in the UK, if we don't try these things then we will just watch the sport deteriorate to an amateur sport in the UK.
  18. No lets watch speedway dissapear while the money slowly runs out. Any idea to make speedway affordable should be looked at, even if we have to loose the noise and Castrol R smell.
  19. The crowds at Stoke could be so much bigger if the promotion and staff had not driven so many away. Good publicity takes time to work, but bad publicity spreads like wildfire. If there was a promotion change at Stoke a lot more would go.
  20. At least 1 handbags moment should be compulsary at each UK speedway meeting.
  21. All he has to do is ride for peanuts and Stoke will snap him up.
