  1. Bad news about Thorssell I hope he has a speedy recovery, he,s a rider I like, this season his improvement has been excellent he comes across as a decent bloke quietly going about his job, good to watch and shows loyalty to his British club. I agree with mikebv and his assessment regarding the track. Monmore used to be prepared much better disregarding last night as the weather played a major part, Kirky Lane had some decent racing but that was in a minority of meetings the place was a dump but it served its purpose. Of course small tracks have a place as you need to have a different type of skill to ride them hence foreign riders needing that UK experience. Ive visited Lakeside quite a few times and despite what some say ive always seen decent meetings there, its small but riders never appeared to have a problem turning the bike, locking up, etc. In the cold light of day all this my tracks better than yours is rather childish, its far more relevant what the riders themselves think. Hope its a good meeting tomorrow and we can pull it back but its still going to be a hard task even with Wolves now having to utilise r/r. Last night Cook Tungate and Bjerre I felt let us down they all have to be on it tomorrow. Pity the weather badly affected both matches last night.
  2. Same as us when losing Bjerre against Coventry cost us in the final. Not a fan of Tungate myself but don't think he purposely went out to cause mayhem, more like a limited ability to control the bike and being too pumped. But at least we acknowledged we had a total crap track, we didn't try to defend it, what made it worse for us it came after Hyde Road.
  3. Dont think we were under orders to take anyone out. Trick track with riders locking up falling imagine the comments if this had been Kirky Lane. That was crap but not as bad as this.
  4. Dan just locked that one up no ulterior motive there just inexperiance.
  5. All over the place mate lol. We always do things the hard way. A late capitulation would sum us up. Will try to put on the positive head.
  6. We now need to build on that copk needs to come to the party. Think we will capitulate in the latter heats.
  7. We are the preston north end of the play offs. Cook shocking feel this tie could be over tonight.
  8. No advantage in next heat think we could suffer a heavy defeat Typical of our luck
  9. Just think Kildemands all action never give up style brings something to the events, Pedersen was also known to go down easily as to influence a refs decision or to try to give himself a second bite of the cherry, i can see some resemblance tbh and the series needs that panto villain.
  10. Kildemand the new NP in waiting? Overall a poor meeting the track cutting up badly certainly didnt help, well done to Matej on his win and great to see Doyle increase his lead after last season i didnt think he would be able to repeat that form but if anything hes come back stronger, hope he now wins it totally deserved. Be interesting to see if he rides well within himself tomorrow. As someone else mentioned as there are so many of these meetings now they tend to lose that bit of magic that the one off final had. That air of uncertainty the whole season building up to that one special night, the tension etc. I know all the arguements for and against both but the GP comes no where near close to that atmosphere you could cut with a knife on world final night. Lets hope the next one provides a better spectacle which it should on a good well prepared track.
  11. The league table would point to Wolves being favorites surely as they finished above us after a full campaign? Having said that the tie could go either way, Nathan Greaves could be correct saying it could come down to the reserves, Wolves have two that will pick up the odd points that could make the difference, we have Dan and really no one else, both sides are capable of going well on each others track, but we are talking Belle Vue and the play offs here
  12. Thought we made harder work of that than we should have, apart from Morris and Ellis the Robins didnt really turn up. The guests cancelled themselves out with Hans at least putting in some effort unlike Kurtz who may have well stayed at home but with monday looming he was never going to put it all on the line. But overturning a 15 point deficit after an opening 1-5 should give the side confidence going forward. I still think Poole could cause the Robins some serious problems on monday.
  13. Think the conditions that night aided BWD as it was far from ideal, take nothing away from him though he handled the conditions, on a dry well prepared track don't think he would score like that.
  14. Out of Swindon, Poole, and Belle Vue I think we go the best at Monmore and have managed to keep the scores fairly close even on our last visit without Fricke and with Bewley picking up an injury. BUT this is the play offs and Belle Vue just don't seem to do play offs do we? Last season we did well at Monmore and I think didn't fail to reach forty points on our away travels, until we turned up at Monmore for the final 1st leg, we then turned in our worst away performance of the season, a capitulation, and it wouldn't surprise me to see it happen again. At the NSS Wolves top four can all go well Howarth can sometimes be a bit hit and miss, at reserve Wolves I think have the advantage and a lot depends on Bewleys fitness. I hope Fricke and Thorssell are riding if r/r was introduced for both think it would benefit Belle Vue at Monmore and Wolves at the NSS. Its very close to call between the two but I think Wolves will go through and retain the title as Poole or Swindon would get wiped at Monmore.
  15. Im 20 minutes away and its bucketing down. Track can take rain but prefer it to ne off than a gate and go fest on in tricky conditions. Meeting is too important for that. 16. I went for Poole over the two legs before the Wimborne Rd leg, Swindon should now be able to capitalize on that slender lead but it wouldn't surprise me if Poole pulled something out of the bag, Doyle will no doubt have one eye on the world championship and who can blame him could that inhibit him in any way not being willing to take risks etc? its evenly balanced and will be interesting if Poole get off to a good start as they did in the first leg but without the bad luck.
  17. Quite well I would think, just feel the track will suit his style. As for Greaves I didn't think he would amount to much but I was wrong hes really improved this season and is also scoring good points for Ipswich so fair play to him. Always good to see a young English rider show improvement, as long as he dosent continue it tonight
  18. With a fully fit complete side we definately could beat any side over two legs, Fricke has come back well but how will Bewley go on his return from a lay off? Smith probably wouldnt have scored much probably 1 or 2 so not a great miss but losing Bjerre would hand it to Wolves on a plate. Im not up on the rules but i would have thought that as the SEC is a re arranged fixture the play off semi would now take priority? Is it down to the rider? If so he wants to remember who gave him a job when Coventry sadly closed down. If Bjerre has no choice and we cant get a guest then thats it for me a total joke, the whole season wiped out in one meeting due to British speedway being so insignificant. Its not as if Bjerre is challenging in the SEC as hes been dire during the series, ironic he missed the 2005 final due to injury and the same rider could miss another p/o meeting due to this farce. We really are not destined to do well in this system at all are we? Without a number 1 the second leg will be just a formality, glad I decided to wait on buying my ticket.
