  1. I dont think 12 points will be enough, Pickering will have his bike sorted, Howarth will be better, and Harris i feel will finally come to the play off party as he normally does. BV need to pack the minor places and no lasts to have a chance but i think a comfortable Sheffield win, overall we have been terrible away this season.
  2. I agree with you. Although Tigers can go well round our place and with the Holders and Pickerings current form could actually nick it if we start as slowly as we have in some meetings at home.
  3. When Ipswich lost Doyley i thought the door had been opened for Sheffield but Ippo did really well up to losing Emil, now i think the door is wide open for Sheffield, i dont think we will do enough at Owlerton and Aces need to start quickly Monday instead of the traditional slow start.
  4. I dont think any match fixing would be as blatant as this, but it is speedway.
  5. As if Ipswich havent had enough bad luck losing the two best riders in the league they get Turnbull as referee, she was an absolute joke with her decisions, refs obviously make mistakes but her performance went beyond that tonight, it went into the category of corrupt, how can she makes so many bad calls in one meeting? She needs a ban imposing and investigating. Surely the authorities have to take action? Feel for Ipswich.
  6. I was going to go with 48-42 Witches win before the rearranged line ups, Brummies could stop the rot now but will stick with the Witches. Be interesting how many turn up for this given Brummies poor run and now a multitude of guests.
  7. Expect Sheffield to win fairly comfortably at Owlerton, they could go well at our place too, expecting a tough match at home.
  8. I only want the racecard so print them from the programme generator
  9. Show me a major city without this scenario and other major cities have a bigger problem with these issues, if you check out Wales online you can read all about the homelessness, alcohol and drug abuse as being regular sights on St Mary Street in central Cardiff for example, maybe the GP should be moved from there?
  10. Obviously you dont know what the city has to offer.
  11. Manchester itself isnt a problem its got more museums, pubs, hotels, restauraunts, and a myriad of other things to do, as for the speedway side are,nt there other GP,s held in stadiums with similar capacities? having to put in a temporary stand on the third and fourth bend and the cost of recuperating that cost is a problem. As the council were adamant a condition of the stadium being built was to host world events could a perminent facility have been put in place on the third and fourth bends? Obviously its not required for league meetings but would have given the stadium that extra capacity without the hike in prices we saw for the SON. I always felt the stadium looks incomplete.
  12. I felt the score didnt reflect the effort Kings Lynn put in, the last three heats flattered us a bit.
  13. On his return visits this season hes proving it was the right decision to release him.
  14. Im just catching up on the latest news and having watched the video clip have to say Emil was very lucky to come out of that incident as he did, he is an absolute class act on and off the bike and i wish him a speedy recovery and hope hes back for the play offs. Im not a Jack Holder fan but he certainly was not to blame for the incident, as for comments relating to the track and Holders behaviour after the event im not qualified to comment as i did not watch the meeting, the main thing in all this is Emil is ok and hopefully back in action asap.
  15. You can pay more for a rock gig in the arena here than for this meeting, as you say pricing is not just a speedway issue, F1, Wimbledon, two examples.
  16. Some will always want to just concentrate on the negative, and this from the so called hardcore support
  17. Thats the worry considering the cost of staging this meeting is how it could affect the club in the future, with the owners being businessmen you think they would have looked at all the figures beforehand, i suppose time will tell. With the cost of tickets i just felt it was gambling with the clubs future.
  18. I actually did state i was in Cornwall i didnt think it necessary to qualify my post with all the background details, as for your update comment ending with its only been going 20 years came across as sarky to me. In this case there were more comments on the meeting thread from around the country to give me an idea of the standard of racing than on the updates thread.
  19. For your information i was camping had no electric hook up and a phone that needed charging, not easy in parts of the Cornish countryside, the result wasnt that important so i got my phone charged when it was convinient, whats with the sarky post anyway? Could have just said nothing couldnt you? As for updates ive only been following speedway 56 years so suprisingly i am aware thank you. I dont belong to the generations addicted to the phone.
  20. I would say that away supporters would more likely stay at home and save on petrol, food, drink, and entrance fee plus dodgy forecasts.Away support has certainly fallen off a cliff from the days of Belle Vue, Coventry, Cradley Heath, Swindon etc racing on a Saturday, but there does appear to also be a sizable reduction in home support which ive witnessed myself, at one stage tv was seen as essential to raise awareness and promote the sport and increase attendences, i just think today it will just do the opposite. For me speedway will always be better live anyway.
  21. Just had a look at this thread to find the score as im away in Cornwall at the moment, racing sounds as if it was entertaining, the usual suspects are out in force as regards crowd size i see. My personal take on it apart from the sport in general not attracting massive crowds as in years gone by is streaming. BSN seem to do a great job with their streams according to those who subscribe, but what damage is it doing the clubs who need people in the stadium? Streaming will no doubt save people money on racedays, the worry is taking paying fans from the stadiums can only be a road to lose more clubs who wont be able to make ends meet. Tv meetings certainly are not increasing attendences BSN or Eurosport, the opposite effect appears to be the case.
  22. I wouldnt have a problem with it, especially if it was on a Saturday could make a weekend of it.
