  1. Very disappointing but not unexpected, this seems to be very much like the Reading situation, hope not speedway cant afford to lose Swindon, another club with a great history, really missed my trips down there.
  2. Cant really look beyond Sheffield now, what time are they opening the turnstiles tonight?
  3. RIP Big Al, a great rider who could live with and beat the best, a Great servant to Cradley.
  4. Sad news a great servant to the sport, RIP.
  5. Congratulations Artem Laguta a well deserved title, this season he has certainly developed into a better rider being able to come from the back whereas in the past if he missed the start he tended to tail off. His starting technique is top notch nerves got to him in the early heats but he pulled it out of the bag when it really mattered. I was hoping he would win it, full credit to Zmarzlik for his sportsmanship. Overall not a great series with a lot of poor racing on poor tracks, i lost enthusiasm for the GP,s this season, lets hope with Discovery going forward the series improves, there is a good opportunity to get the sport out there, lets hope its taken.
  6. Yes thats true but if its on and the weather dictates its a farce and is only on because of the TV and riders are poodling round unable to race then that twenty quid enterence could have been saved and for those choosing to watch on TV they could feel that was the wiser option than to risk travelling. Good choice to call it off, Monday it is then.
  7. Weve lost by two and by eight in the league matches at Owlerton and i think that could be recoverable at the NSS, but Sheffield are running into form at the right time they need Batchelor to get back to the rider he was for Swindon, he can certainly bang in big points around our track, Holder and Ellis i expect to score well, if S Worrall can keep up his improvement and Kurtz and Wright show up we could do it, if one or both dont turn up could be goodnight Vienna, the big miss for the Tigers could be Neilsen at Reserve. Either way this could be very close over the two legs, hopefully we dont capitulate as at Wolves 4 years ago.
  8. Yep Wolves have to join us, i need my ice cream when visiting Monmore
  9. Hopefully Belle Vue will join you the so called Premiership is bobbins.
  10. Yes law of averages could come into it, but i think it was Preston North End who finally won the play offs at the eleventh attempt, so could have a bit to go yet
  11. I would think so but history shows we dont do well in play offs, time for change perhaps?
  12. If Wolves finish top i think they will pick Sheffield hoping BV knock out Peterborough as we have fared better on aggregate against them and i cant see us beating Wolves over two legs as we dont seem able to impose ourselves on teams at the NSS in the manner we will have to do in the final, its looking like Sheffield could be the pick for whoever finishes top.
  13. Glad to see Freddie get up from that one, horrendous crash, the GP continues to prove having all the best riders doesnt guarantee good racing, im getting fed up with it tbh, appears to becoming more and more processional.
  14. Good job Lawson didn't turn up, that Wolves didn't need him says a lot for BV, I was critical about bringing S Worrall back this season he has reached his level, you need riders with improvement in them to be winning silverware, ah well down to Wolves and I fear more of the same. Wolves are a solid outfit and cannot see past them for the title.
  15. Didnt fancy us in either meeting but with the addition of Lawson at the NSS Wolves should win quite comfortably considering we struggle to put teams away at home, Kings lynn holding us to six dosent augur well for us against Wolves.
  16. I think with the new points system riders ride within themselves to qualify for the semis then give it everything, the result of the scoring system.
  17. Well it disproves the theory the top riders always produce the best racing, some of the best racing at the NSS has been the Colts.
  18. Overall total c**p, borefest, poor crowd, shocking camera angles, only bonus being the start line girls, especially the blonde. Im getting totally fed up of the series to be honest, would have been better off taking the cameras to an NDL meeting. Got to be Woffinden and Bewley for the SON, where did Lambert get the ruthless nickname from?
  19. Well done Adam Ellis fully deserved win, a good meeting overall and good performances from Nicholls, Harris, and Howarth who havent always been great around the NSS, Lambert also gave a good account of himself as he did guesting for us, hope Wright can find that form for the Aces from here on in.
  20. You,ve nailed the managerial default mode statement there, it was good to see more kids coming along but with Dan i would imagine being the latest to decamp to Poland next season (understandable) and there being doubts hanging over a few clubs the future of the sport in the UK is at a tipping point, the only difference in the top two leagues as you say is being able to pay less to see the same riders except for a couple at Championship tracks, throw in the poor entertainment at the NSS too this season and its not been a good return from lockdown entertainment wise.
  21. Possibly not so when you look at Belle Vue,s record of keeping underperforming riders.
  22. Fully deserved Panthers win, seven heat wins for BV five of them for Bewley underlines how bang average we are, Palin was superb tonight and Panthers could even afford to carry Harris. Peterborough and Wolves are the best two teams in the league, Panthers team has been well built always ensuring a high scoring reserve, we didnt deserve to get out of jail in the last heat and paper over the cracks, disappointing for us but apart from Bewley and Brennan who as a young rider has got improvement in him the rest have reached their level.
