  1. Thats the play offs for you, we lost out after finishing top and suffering the obligatory injury,
  2. I wonder how many stay away from regular season matches seeing the as only qualifiers and turn out for the play offs? Could be counter productive.
  3. Ive always thought the team that finishes top at the end of the regular season should be crowned champions and im not changing my opinion because my team are involved, we have finished top and lost out too, injury again. Obviously i want the Aces to win but it wont feel the same as winning over the full season and sitting on top of the pile.
  4. Yes choking is a ludicrous accusation when two riders are out injured, but injuries, play offs, and Belle Vue appear to go hand in hand. Easy home win for me, Sheffields second strings and reserves will own ours.
  5. I dont know all the ins and outs like the Swindon fans but firstly im gutted what has happened Swindon are a great club with a great history and its a disgrace GI were allowed to close down the stadium by stealth under a tissue of lies. I will certainly miss my trips down there always was one of my favourite away days. Hopefully a new facility can be found and we see the club return.
  6. Charles and his rush of blood is going to cost us much more than his two points he would have scored Monday behind Musielak, still dont know what he was thinking. I know racers race but you have to use your head, anyway hope he recovers well. He is a big miss at Sheffield dont think Jye will be a big mis tbh especially away. Theres a lot of pressure (too much) probably on our top three, no way will Holder have another bad night, i expect double figures from him, Howarth too i think will step up a lot from Monday, Musielak will just do what he does and Sheffield will outscore us at reserve, overall i really dont see 12 being anywhere near enough, an early home 5_1 in heat two would surely set Sheffield up nicely. With Charles i would have fancied us, but anything can happen in sport as we saw Monday.
  7. But Ford created a winning mentality at the club and like Man U under Sir Alex was despised for it, who cares when your winning hey Lisa
  8. I said a few days ago i thought Sheffield would win over the two legs as they will ride the NSS better than we go at Owlerton, i still stand by that to bang 39 points in with Holder scoring a paltry two is a decent return and not enough for us in the second leg. What Wright was thinking when he came off i dont know he was never going to get the win, just sit in for the two points, if he decides to ride not fully fit as speedway riders do, that will be another minus for us, i dont know when Lambert last rode there but i can see Sheffield getting the jump out the starts and pulling the deficit back by at least halfway. Ive always been of the mind the real champions are the team that finish the regular season top, im not changing my opinion on that just because my team is involved, but it makes it easier to take losing out after finishing third rather than finishing top and losing out. Either way i just hope its a good race meeting and theres always the Kelham Island tavern to drown the sorrows
  9. At least Lemon is learning from the From the Ford school of manipulating the rules.
  10. Yep ok, we are way down the ringer league, oh and your going to look silly when Sheffield turn this around, 12 isnt enough.
  11. Why even bother with the forum then? Just walk sway and find anther interest, you couldnt pay me to go to cricket but i wouldnt dream of commenting on their forums
  12. I noted the info at the top just seemed strange following the process takes you to actually entering card details in checkout, a bit misleading.
  13. Are Sheffield doing online tickets for the final? I ask because i read it was pay only on the turnstile but on their website clicking the links for online sales takes you to checkout with ticket price etc?
  14. Sad whats happened at Swindon those clubs who have secure futures cannot exist if clubs all around them are closing.
  15. I think over the two legs Sheffield will come out on top, i just think they will ride our place better than we do theirs, the reserve positions could also be telling, Norick can score well at home but away? Mountain has been impressive around the NSS and will certainly go well around Owlerton. Charles cant afford to start off with a couple of poor rides like he did in the semis and hopefully Tom is fully over his Glasgow crash which affected his form last Monday. As for the Lambert factor just let him go and look to pack the minor placings behind him, he cant win meetings on his own, obviously i want us to prevail but this is the play offs and we all know Belle Vue dont do play offs dont we? Law of averages and all that?
  16. I think you could be right, they can get round our place better than we get round Owlerton, they will probably let Lambert go and look to negate his heats by 3 alls, plus its Belle Vue and play offs and we all know how that normally turns out
  17. We have seen in the past Poole bringing in Hancock and Wolves bringing in Woffinden, now we bring in Lambert, forgetting how the rules were written seasons ago these moves did not break any rules but the one thing i dont really agree with is riders who dont commit fully to British speedway using us as a couple of extra paydays when the overseas commitments have ended, You can have nothing but admiration for Doyles continued commitment to the sport here.
  18. No doubt Ipswich will be better in Manchester on Monday, theres no pressure on them and they can just go out and enjoy themselves, Doyle is superb everywhere, Tungate and Batchelor can certainly ride the NSS as can King, the other semi could be a close one but Sheffield are in form and i would still put the down as favorites overall.
  19. I was terrified when Belle Vue were linked with Batchelor pre season, and thats the reason, bobbins.
