  1. I’ve just watched him race and beat Emil once in Toruń vs Lublin and he rode as normal, no issues, so I assume he is all good. Holder got schooled and got 4 points. Both rode though!
  2. Like Tom Brennan guesting for us and coming up with pretty much nothing! That doesn’t always work I guess haha
  3. You can’t compare polish (carpet) tracks to English tracks, maybe make a case for Belle Vues track but the others are different. He also had an extra ride tonight in for the absence Tai, although granted 14 is still a great tally for a meeting! I’m not just saying it because I’m Ipswich but Emil is a freak how good he is on our tracks! Although kvech is doing well!
  4. Anyone heard if Richie is paying for the phone he flung against the wall in anger haha that was my same feeling after hearing the exclusion. Red was poor last night. Anyone else thought it was a weird decision to bring back a possible heat advantage to Ipswich when Ashton impeded himself with his false start?! But when he moved in a previous heat they let it go and he won the race!
  5. Tough night! Some questionable referee decision but in the end we got the job done (mostly thanks to Emil). At one point I thought the meeting had gone from us. They done well to dig in. Especially after the Belle vue meeting so it’s a good night for the guys for sure!
  6. Crazy right! I go to many Gorzow races as my partner is Polish and from there. Not sure on Thomson and Vaculik wages but every top rider is similarly in the thousands of pounds per point plus a basic club wage. Tried to figure out last night whilst at the Gorzow vs Lublin match how much they get on the gate. Average attendance in Gorzow is 10,000. Last nights ticket was 80 zloty = £800,000 zloty. Then obviously sponsors and every match in Poland is live on either Canal plus or Eleven TV. So you can kind of see how they make it work! Also, bear in mind weirdly in Poland. 8 teams in Ekstraliga. 8th relegation. 7th nothing. 1st-6th have 3 stage play off equalling another 6 matches for every team (home and away). Partner said the three stage playoff was new for last season and brought in to push the revenue up. Make sense when you think how much money is involved!
  7. Zmarzlik wouldn't ride in Ipswich just for money. It would be to have more time on the bike, this is why he is deliberating if it's worth the risk IE. bike time vs injury. He is the superstar of speedway and rightly so. Although, this offer from Ipswich probably would be the most tempting time for him to come to England and test his skills back in England. To get rough Pound sterling divide by 5. Polish Media translated to English: According to Puka's information, presented in "Kanał Sportowy", our best speedway rider collects over 10 million per season. Of course, the exact amount depends on the results. However, the lion's share of it comes from the club. As the journalist informed, Motor Lublin pays Zmarzlik six million zlotys per season. In addition, there are another two million guaranteed by a sponsorship contract with Orlen. Another million is a matter of other individual sponsors, and half a million - a contract with Lejonen Gislaved. In addition, there are prizes that the player can win during the season. It is 600 thousand zlotys for the Grand Prix series and about 150 thousand for participation in other tournaments.
  8. Not sure why you would speak about football humour. To be fair I’m wise enough to realise after how he spoke on the interview and that last post that it is banter. I’m saying some of his decisions are random, like wheelie mid race. He probably did just joke around. I felt last night was more banter from him and light hearted than when he actually spoke on the microphone and said “f!ck off”. Sport is what it is, I’ve had my say, people will disagree and have their say. If you aren’t allowed to have an opinion then it’s pointless having a forum. I spoke from my probably passionate frustration last night. Today I woke up and couldn’t really care less.
  9. You’re deffo on Tai payroll haha he can tell me to f*uck off back to Ipswich but I can’t laugh at him. That’s a boring sport then ain’t it!
  10. If it was a bad accident then it wouldn’t be funny granted, but the fact he was fine is karma as far as I’m concerned. Even kids in the pits after the meeting were shouting “tai you’re an idiot” that tells you everything. In Poland he would have been suspended for going back into the track and doing what he done mid race. In England we treat him like he is untouchable and that’s not true. Also, as a person, did you actually hear about him wanting to be allowed to fight other riders after the races? Also what he did last week to his LOYAL polish mechanic is not something a decent guy would do.
  11. Tai held his hand which I think he was implying Scott or Emil hit him as they were close. He knew he wasn’t in the race so pulled off the track. Only to cut back in whilst the race was ongoing and the started doing wheelies. Once the race finished he came to the grandstand and started doing a burnout. This guy is random to be polite! Funny when he fell off though!
  12. Probably because their football is about getting relegated after promotion haha.
  13. I don’t think in foxhall Sheffield fans were getting physically abused unlike in Sheffield. That’s the reason most people despise Sheffield in general.
  14. Maybe you should check his polish and Grand Prix stats and come back to me with a rethink !
  15. After their antics and Tais beautiful words about the witches I’d love to see them go home with nothing at all. The difference between how we reacted when we won the cup at home vs how they reacted when they won the title at home basically shows the maturity of the teams. We won with grace. They won with arrogance. I hope Tai gets the reaction from the crowd he deserves. I think karma this season has caught up with him.
  16. All talk of Dan Thompson but no one slightly concerned that Freddie is in the team and could change the outcome for Birmingham favour (unless you’re a brummy fan then all is good!)?
  17. Yeah, the others get injured tonight! Let’s hope everyone else stays fit and we pull through this. Freddie has problems with his visa so he won’t be available for both meetings this week. That could be our saving grace. I’m sure Chris is on the phone every minute of the day trying to firefight these situations that keep arising. Just hope Emil can keep his head in the game and perform like the last few meetings. If we get through this semi final it will be well played, although kind of feel like it won’t be the same if we defend the cup after knowing half of our team hasn’t ridden?
  18. Just a shout and probably not possible with his other commitments but I’d give a shout to keep king and Ellis and just bring in scotty instead of hoping a GP star can handle our tracks. Scotty knows what it is to be in a Ipswich team which is together, he is an Ipswich lad. He gives his all like doyley, I think good around the other younger guys. I’d be happy with that and just see how we do this season without doyley. I’d rather that than watch lambert come in after his moaning about our track live on TV. Vaculik or Thompson may possibly be available after announcement in Poland that Ekstraliga are suspending all riders who didn’t participate in the Gorzów vs Grudziądz meeting (both ride for stal) for minimum a month. And fining them £10,000 each.
  19. Just saw that fricke is in for Doyle for GP. Also saw Grudziądz lost tonight and were using RR to replace Doyle. Maybe he just flew over and used the teams physio or something as the polish teams let the riders come over and use facilities anytime they need!
  20. Just saw Doyle is at stansted airport… interesting. Grand Prix or Grudziądz ?
  21. Gorzów didn’t refuse, they came out and tested the track which the opposition did not take part and refused. Woźniak tested the track and wrote it was rideable just hard. And they have shown the signed document which doesn’t state stal refused. I live in Ipswich and Gorzów. So to see Grudziądz refuse to race due to losing Doyle is frustrating as an Ipswich witches fan as we always have to ride without him. Scandal at the highest level for Ekstraliga. We waited 5 hours in the stadium for the circus.
  22. Grudziądz were a joke last night. I’m currently in Poland and went to the stał Gorzów race which Grudziądz refused to race in after waiting in the stadium for 4 hours. They ripped up the track and re done the whole thing and Grudziądz still refused to race. How they could ride a track like a carpet but can ride in England is beyond me. I guess that’s a different forum altogether though haha
  23. I’m not saying anything haha you get fast news when you live in Poland 50 percent of your time and it’s the number one speedway league !
  24. Yes, if we had king and Doyle I think we may be too strong for brum, but without them we may struggle. Brum are a good team and the league showing little points makes them look like it should be a walk over is what I was getting at. Rew has been hot and cold. Thompson pulls off one of his top meetings and we should win.
  25. As a Witches fan it was amazing having Tom riding for us Thursday but I’m concerned he may put in another performance like that against us and do some major damage in Doyle absence! Birmingham have a strong side and I don’t think the league shows their true ability. Shame we can’t get our full team together even when King is back due to Doyle injury!
