  1. According to my forecast the last rain fall will be around 11am tomorrow morning in Leicester. Should this be true maybe a few volunteers can bring their wives hairdryers so we can help dry the track out šŸ˜
  2. Iā€™ve been surprised by Syzmon thought he would do wel under Hancock and the same could be said about Becker I thought he may of kicked on more than he has this season. Reading through this thread thereā€™s a lot of people believing Douglas wonā€™t be in the team next year why is that? When I have seen him this season his done well and even though injured for the semis was still there in the pits supporting, would have thought if he had any issues he wouldnā€™t be there?
  3. Pleased for Belle Vue that they get to host a GP at our National Stadium. I loved Cardiff but letā€™s be honest could so easily be moved now if the GP team can keep the standards they have with temporary tracks, maybe the Birmingham Alexandra stadium or maybe somewhere like MK Dons football stadium could be converted something a bit left field than Cardiff could easily freshen it up for British fans.
  4. Sorry but just out of interest how did you get to a figure of 80k was this TV money for the meetings?
  5. Really hope Emil is ok, best rider in the league for the last two years. Every time Iā€™ve saw him at a stadium thereā€™s always been something either bursting out the block and destroying his opponents or an overtake that few little would have been able to achieve let alone try it. Best wishes and hopefully we wake up tomorrow with a really positive update and fingers crossed minimal injuries. In regards to track safety you would start a whole new topic on that but certainly something that needs to be looked at during the winter months.
  6. Freddie going round Belle Vue will sure be interesting. Antti Vuolas in my view strongest out of the reserve so will be the difference tonight, unless Pawlicki and Lampart have a decent night for Brummies. Iā€™m going Belle Vue win by 6
  7. Iā€™m going for a Lynn win doubted them against Sheffield and got it wrong. The home form has been good and can see them ticking the points on nicely throughout the meeting. Plus away leicester have struggled.
  8. A really good meeting. Had Oxford to win but Birmingham pushed. The way Birmingham set up their 1-7 is possibly what they should stick to now until end of season. Bomber doing his thing ready for the play offs! Good to see Magic and Freddie going at it in Heat 15. Iā€™m pleased to see Magic doing well hope his back next year in British speedway as I think he will be much improved in the UK
  9. I disagree with him being sacked he needs an experienced person with him to guide him to make the right decisions on the bike/ track and his set up. Iā€™m unsure if he has that - it would be great if someone like Peter Adams could get in and guide him like he did with woffy years ago. There is a rider their but once his had a bad heat he almost needs it beaten out of him to move past it.
  10. Lynn have done well over recent home matches but didnā€™t predict them to win tonight, big well done! Just hope this season doesnā€™t end on a high and then they donā€™t come back next year. It would be great for them to move forward with a bit of momentum. How was it in regards to the crowd turnout any good?
  11. Douglas guesting for Sheffield, canā€™t see past Sheffield with this one. Sheffield win by 8
  12. Speedway really is a closed circle. promotions could unleash a wealth of dynamic people if they just opened up and asked for some help and Iā€™m sure some people would offer to help and use their skills from different sectors (marketing, sales, operational personnel) maybe even for nothing for a small amount of their time due to the care of the sport etc, but it seems to me unless your willing to part with your cash to prop up the team with the promotion then forget it. Most clubs donā€™t seem to want to open up and keep it as it is because ā€œthatā€™s how weā€™ve always done itā€
  13. ā€œThe way forwardā€ is a whole new thread on its own. Clubs are mostly on their arse and whilst there does seem to be a fresh look in the TV presentation with the sponsorship backdrops behind the presents and riders when interviewing and in the pits, there is no real fresh people operating the day to day. I feel sorry for Phil Morris as Iā€™m a big fan but one man canā€™t do it all. I think one big league is the most likely option over the next few years with meetings over Thursdays/fridays/ Saturdays.
  14. Birmingham is a crazy place. Youā€™ve got the owner going around like a poor manā€™s Gandalf. There sacked rider guesting and had a good night and ended winning rider of the night. Another meeting where the ā€œtrackā€ is the issue. Lampart going from a man on form in his first two rides to struggling to pass wind for the rest of the night. Freddieā€™s comments at the end about positivity and team work in the pits with Paco etc being in there, is that a dig at those missing not being ā€œteam playersā€. I thought Lynn was badā€¦.
