Sam at reserve at a track he can perform well on will do him the world of good. A few good scoring meetings to boost his confidence and I think you'll see his overall average fly up.

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
MB723 replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If that's the point of the league there should be team building rules to allow that but there isn't and we built a team to the rules that didn't even end up winning a trophy so obviously we're not the only ones who can sign the best riders, does our 2024 team look like something a team with infinite money bags would put together? Why should Glasgow take the risk into a top league that is killing every other team that goes into it, giving up our Friday race night and isolating ourselves from our local clubs? Glasgow owners also sponsor the championship, will they stop that to save money in turn starting the championship on a downward spiral? Glasgow's closest club in the top league is Belle Vue, between those two clubs you have not just Berwick and Edinburgh but Redcar and Workington with Scunthorpe around equal distance. Glasgow is trying to get families coming with their kids to enjoy speedway, a Friday night works well since parents don't have to worry about kids getting home too late on a school night. Finally Glasgow isn't a speedway city, the owners have mentioned it before but no one cares if Tai Woffinden of Emil Sayfutdinov are in town, most people who you'd tell would look at you like you're insane. You wouldn't get a big draw of new fans flooding in for these top league names, maybe a couple fans from Edinburgh/Berwick but not enough to balance the increased wages. I understand being a premiership team fan wanting a competitive exciting league, despite all the above points I'd love for us to give the top league a go as long as it means the club won't die in a year but what are the actual benefits to moving up from a business perspective? From your posts it just sounds like you want to punish Glasgow for doing a good job . -
How about this for a 40 point limit with only 1 rider over 8, think some of the rider are unlikely but an just an idea of a team structure (hope I got the averages right). Bomber 8.90 Flint 6.95 Nagel 7.39 Harrison 4.97 Zischke 5.43 Hagon 3.52 Hodder 2.63 39.79 Or Bomber 8.90 Flint 6.95 Howarth 7.92 Kevin JP 5.00 Harrison 4.97 Hagon 3.52 Hodder 2.63 39.89

If you are giving up Poland would that not suggest Championship? Thought I had seen something on here about him and Glasgow talking last year when Worrall was ill.

Coops Tassle Boy Rushen 2026

Thought Rushen's weren't allowed in the SGPs? -
If Cook wanted to end his season early or fork out a lot of money for mangled bikes then he might have technically been better coming off but I'm not sure if Kyle actually did touch him so the ref might have ended up excluding Zach anyway (personally thought it was a wee bit dirty from Kyle and wouldn't have argued if he did get excluded in this scenario) For the Ace-Tobius one it just depends on the ref, most fans on here seemed to have to think Ace should have went and I'm sure a few refs would agree. I was 50/50 on first watch of the incident and every replay shown made me change my mind so it can just be down to luck, Tobi was the rider on the outside at Poole and he still got excluded for example even though Kyle moved onto his line a bit.

Heartbraking to lose after clawing it back to equal but incredible effort from both teams. 2 equal teams fighting it out over 30 heats and it goes to a golden heat, either team deserved the win but well done to Poole for getting it over the line. Villads engine failure could have been the decider for us but Lawson's and Tobi's exclusions could have easily went the other way so cannot complain. Track took a few heats to warm up but really picked up towards the end, coincidentally coincided with Bomber starting to miss the gate 🤔 Both captains put in true captains displays tonight as well, great riding from both of them. Hard to say if it was a mistake keeping Kyle in the golden heat, Dan looked a bit slow in heat 12 and Villads had an engine failure in his final race. Could have used Leon but he rides the exact same line as bomber wants so they might have gotten in each others way. Hope some of the tension in the stadium made it through on stream, think the fan's heart rates were all higher than the riders.

Same story as last time, kept them close then dropped it in the last 5 heats where a top heavy team is supposed to be strongest but I think it's still very doable on Friday. Impossible to pass and not that exciting to watch unfortunatly, our riders like sending it wide and pulling their arms out in some grip which you can't quite do here, they're also not gaters aside from Dan which doesn't help but that's home track advantage for you and it's up to our guys to work it out. I can imagine actually being there is a different story entertainment wise, the riders are close together and there was always threats of a pass. Add on a large crowd giving some atmosphere and it could be a great night, it just doesn't come across on stream well.

GP line-up and venues for 2026
MB723 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Fricke is the only one I agree with finishing 3 points from the top 7 to qualify automatically. Personally I think Doyle is past it at this level, still a great rider at league level but at most can maybe have one or 2 gps with a decent score. Woffy inclusion is a joke to be honest, not had a competitive race since his horrible crash (and barely any/none since the injury before it too) and back in the GPs, what basis other than popularity/sponsors is he back in? -
The championship is a very huge jump from the NDL, you're riding against some premiership number 1s and riders that have been at the highest level. Max and Freddy last season were struggling for points (Max was even dropped). At the start of this season they'd have had a good meeting if they scored a point outside of heat 2 but now they're scoring 6+ points and really contributing. While they've not suddenly doubled their average like Cairns did I don't think it was really expected they would. They have definitely had a big improvement, Max and Freddy would run laps around their start of season selves, If they just had a bit better consistency and could carry their home form to more away tracks they would make a significant gain on their average but again it's a tough league so they'll need more time to build on that.

My opinion on play-offs is we need them with 1 home 1 away but if it was 2H2A we can scrap them, teams at the start and end of the year can be very different even if they don't have any rider changes the form of the riders can vary quite a bit so can be a bit of luck when you face another team. Weather and other things like dodgy refs can also play a part and there are too little meetings with 1H1A to negate some luck factor (not that it disappears with 2H2A). If they can't fit 2H2A then maybe even something similar to 2011s format where the top 4/5 do another round robin with the top of the overall table at the end winning. The premiership this year would have come down to a last meeting decider in Sheffield naturally had there been no playoffs but instead we got a nothing meeting to put Sheffield top which didn't matter as they'd already lost in the playoffs. Teams do agree to do play-offs though as it makes them the most money so they can't complain, at the very least the team that finishes top should get some form of trophy.

Well done Max saved us tonight after Villads' mare, massive improvement from the last few meetings and looked more like he was before his crashes. Hope Villads can get some more of that intensive physiotherapy, didn't look particularly comfortable before the meeting and that crash definitely didn't help, credit to him though for limping round for the Ben fund collection, some fit riders skip out on it so doing it while he was obviously in pain was nice to see. Dan and Leon have come alive these last few meetings and Bomber and Kyle looking rapid. Happy the referee's blunder didn't end up mattering as that would have been a horrible way to lose for either side.

Well done to Poole, Cairns man of the match and the reason they are through, amazing for all his 7 rides. For Glasgow Dan and Leon were fantastic as was Bomber as usual. Kyle a duff night, not quite enough power off the bends to get the passes done unfortunately and could tell he was frustrated by it. MPT was MPT. Perry struggled for pace but well done Hodder for keeping us in with a chance, fighting (sometimes too hard) every race. JJ a great guest, Lawson wouldn't have been able to get many more points. Kerr looked like his chain snapped maybe, hopefully he's alright. While not quite enough very encouraging from most of the Tigers for Friday night if they can replicate the form with maybe Villads back we have a very good chance of overturning the 14 points. -

If all riders are on form it will be very difficult to claw back 14 points as all Poole riders can score big. Think the Leon and Dan pairing will be very important in determining our chances and obviously which Palm Toft shows up. -
Sounds extremely ambitious for British speedway but just might work. Think of all the fans who love the colour green that that would attract.

Good they are doing it but a bit late notice to get the most watchers, you'd think they'd have advertised this at least a few days in advance?
