King’s Lynn vs Sheffield - 29.07.24
Manifesto replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Expecting a better showing than last time we visited. My choice of guest for Woffy would be Fricke or Janowski. Think our reserves will struggle so I’m going for a 48-42 home win -

Really good effort from Oxford. Janowski looked so much better than he did last time he visited. Harris was very fast and that bends 3 and 4 in heat 13 was world class to squeeze past Jack Holder next to air fence. Tungate struggling with his bike all night cost them the bonus point. Howarth all over place once again another poor showing, you’d think he’d never seen track before way he shapes up going into bends. Heat leaders saw us through second half of the meeting. We need Tai back for the play offs but I fear his season is finished -

really need Kyle and Picko to score some to ensure a comfy enough win, Kyle in particular last week was very sloppy on track. Really hope Dan and Jason can keep up the good form they both are heading in the right direction. Tungate, Harris and Janowski could all score big and Wright and Riss enjoy riding Owlerton. Let’s hope for some good racing. Prediction 49-41 home win just sneaking the bonus point in -
Birmingham v Sheffield - 22nd July

Much needed win for us. Edwards and Gilkes have been really mixing it every meeting now which is key for us in the play offs, if Pickering and Howarth show up on the same night we are unbeatable. same old story for Birmingham unfortunately not all 7 riders putting the needed points down for a win. Leon Flint should be beating Gilkes and Edwards on his own track he seems to be going backwards after a good start to the season. the track was shocking compared to earlier in the season the outside line just wasn’t there which resulted in poor racing -

Jack and Tai scored 17+1 between them on the last visit I’m not sure we can make those numbers up tonight. Expecting 4 from Batchelor and a 12 point loss -
An absolute sickener seeing Woffy have that fall. He has arguably been our best rider this year and cannot be replaced for what he brings to the team. I hope the injuries are not too serious

A very easy win for Sheffield in the end. Not much fight in the patched up KL side except from a fantastic Anders Rowe, heat 4 he did everything right to keep Woffy behind him. Kvech showed some class and looked better each race. NKI tried but couldn’t lay a glove on the tigers heatleaders. The guests cost them the final in the end all 3 were very poor. Jack Holder on another level tonight, Woffy and Chris almost on that level. Great to see Kyle back to his old self, really come good last few weeks. not sure why Pickering was so angry with Gilkes in heat 14, he’d been struggling for speed all night just needs to put it behind him and move on to the next

Some great racing. Fricke and Bewley absolutely flying worth the watch. Yes the crowd looked poor which was a surprise with the weather. BV need to keep that kind of form up if they’re going to challenge the top 2
-
Tigers way too good for BV tonight. Bewley been class in both meetings at Owlerton this year
-
50-40 home win.. Harris is generally better than Kurtz round Owlerton. Think Chris Holder and Pickering will be the difference. Going round Hillsborough before to watch the footy.. might be abit sozzled so if anyone sees me staggering about on bend 4 in a gazza shirt come say hi

Ipswich fans won’t know how to handle tai throwing them a compliment -

I could tell tales of arguments at speedway but 99% of fans are just genuine speedway fans. As for the bend 2 barmy army (about 6 people) they popped up after Covid I don’t think they’ve been going for long. The rivalry between Ipswich and Sheffield is down to both having strong teams and last years final was mostly respectful -

A crappy little track our riders tend to hate.. anything less than a 10 point loss and no injuries id see as a good result -

Fair play to KL really got out the gates and looked comfortable on the track, Sheffield the complete opposite didn’t gate well all night and seemed abit all over the place. 10 points is a very competitive gap, don’t think it will the mullering like last time at owlerton. Could be a tense second leg -

Sheffield coming back strong now. Got to get the reserves going both look very short on confidence in the top league compared to the championship
