Sheffield v Kings Lynn 10/4/25

He was cruising last lap because he was that far in front. Probably the fastest on track last night barring possibly J Holder. Not many will beat those 2 round Owlerton on that form -

Another really solid home performance for Sheffield. Pickering has never looked as fast literally coasting round last lap every race to an easy win. Jack Holder provided some great entertainment in heat 10 and 15 after missing the gate, felt Klindt and Lawson rode a great line in each race but just couldn’t defend against a world class rider. Harris as usual was 100% effort looked very good in parts, heat 9 was a great race between C Holder and Bomber. Lawson and Klindt showed some fight and speed for the away team, but Cook and Kvech were nowhere which was always going to result in a heavy loss for KL. only weak link for Sheffield is Hume who doesn’t look comfy at all riding Owlerton. Feel for the guy he’s trying his best doing laps after the meeting but feel like he’s already on borrowed time. If we can’t find a like for like replacement for woffy can see a double change coming -

I’d be more worried about Kvech and Cook on tonight’s showing

Don’t think team changes will be made even if Sheffield hit 60 tonight. Who are they going to fetch in? They need to win home meetings this season and keep away meetings close as possible -
Heard a couple weeks ago a rumour a corporation has bought the stadium and plans to refurbish it, run the speedway team and also greyhound nights
-
Wasn’t wrong though was I? 😂

Think if Harris is on it tonight KL win this

After the demolition of Birmingham I’m expecting a tougher test against KL. Harris, Lawson, NKI all ride Owlerton well so will be some closer racing. Flint and Rowe had pretty much perfect Sheffield debuts hoping for more of the same. Ben Cook at number 1 is an obvious weak point for KL in this meeting fully expecting Harris to have 7 rides. No signs of a temp signing to cover for Tai guessing it will be R/R again. 52-38 home win

Sheffield v Birmingham 3/4 Premiership R1

Brum were woeful apart from heat 12 and 13. Really was a shocking performance. Expected the heat leaders and Rew to be banging some points in. It was all too easy for Sheffield, Flint looked like a different rider than I’ve ever seen him round Sheffield. Rowe showing exactly why we signed him, he’s really on the up as a rider he will be one of the signings of the season. Picko and the Holders fast and smooth as ever. that was for Woffy ❤️ -

Fancy it to be close possibly last heat decider without Tai in the team. If one of Holder brothers has a slight off night its going to be a struggle, Picko is very close mates with woffy and I have a feeling this will have an impact on him next few weeks. 46-44 home win -

No stream. Sheffield been given 28 facility to cover Tai but will be R/R on Thursday. Can’t help but feel down about Tai and I’m sure the team are the same but hope they put in a performance for him. Not sure who could come in and cover him? Lambert, Laguta, Lindgren Thorssell? -

We are well and truly screwed as it’s same as last year all pressure on Holder bros. We can’t replace Tai he is a huge personality in the pits and he rides every track in uk well. Only riders who come close are Lambert, Lindgren and maybe Anders Thompson? Don’t think any want to ride UK at this point in year -

Absolute sickening for Tai, his family, his career and the sport. Hope it’s not as bad as the rumours as

Weather forecast looking nice all week so no reason the track and conditions shouldn’t be top notch. Which brum will show up to owlerton will decide how close a contest it will be. Tobi and Zagar have speed round owlerton so I’m expecting them to be at it with the Sheff heat leaders. Big night for the reserves to make a statement for me on both teams and I feel that is there the contest will be won or lost prediction 51-39

Anyone know why Woffy didn’t do any laps tonight? Lads looked very smooth on track

Belle Vue v Ipswich March 24th KOC

Fancy aces by 8. think BV will be hot out the blocks and may take Doyle a few meetings to get back into the swing of things -
A good run out for Flint yesterday in the GB team scoring 8+1. I do think he will one of our key riders next season. We know the top 4 are our strength as it was last season. Are we better or worse off than last year? Howarth, Gilkes, Edwards v Rowe, Hume and Flint. We know Kyle can put in big scores round owlerton but was very poor away im hoping Rowe can balance that out riding at 2. Hume for me is poor I would have preferred Dan Gilkes back but he is a tryer so will give him a chance. Flint can put in a performance in the prem and then next meeting be absolutely nowhere. Need him to step it up this year and be the stand out RS in the league if we are to win any silverware

Premiership 2025 Predictions
Manifesto replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Now all teams have been announced… Ipswich, Sheffield, BV look strong. All heat leaders are strong riders especially on home tracks so for me the lower order riders will be the key. Thompson, Ellis, Zischke, Blodorn, Rowe, Flint.. if one of them can step up a gear or two the team will be really hard to beat. I fancy Brum for 4th spot. Think if Tobi finds his 2023 form he will inspire the rest of the team -
Fair play to the brum management they have put a solid looking team together when heat leaders were hard to come by. MJJ had a solid season in the polish league 2024 averaging more than Bewley, Fricke, Lindgren. don’t think he’ll be a slouch in the prem by any means

When watching it live I was directly in line with Emil and Jack coming in to bend 3, both threw the bikes in hard. Emil actually had the room to go round Jack (who was about mid track) I think if he had the footrest he would have handled the bike through for the win. It was so high speed which made it a spectacular crash.

Holder is the better rider overall when both are on their game
-
Is the Oxford team that bad? It’s a similar match up to Kings Lynns in my opinion. Everyone fancying them for play offs although I can’t see anybody matching up to Ipswich, Sheffield and Bv. The last rider needs to be a solid rider who can hit their average home and away and they should be competitive
