  1. I mean you're not far off describing Kyle Newman in fairness. Starke does look a spent force but if he's into it then he'd add 2 points to his average easily at this level.
  2. Think they've listed his crashes per meeting average instead.
  3. For the last 11 seasons? He's been on the slide since he fluked a world title.
  4. I've said this many times too. There are riders now who would've struggled to crack the old EL, yet are somehow heat leaders in both leagues. There were some excellent PL #1s back in the day and they couldn't hack it in the top league, unless they were really special. It's a shame though, because the PL for a long time was probably the most equal and competitive league.
  5. You have to go all the way back to...2022 to find a season that finished in November.
  6. That's about how long it feels to watch a Berwick meeting at times.
  7. Didn't take long! https://watch.britishspeedway.co.uk/articles/championship-uturn-for-picko?fbclid=IwAR3FXrXWv-EIN4CjRQV3Ltsr4gARBDZBvKjxPh0tUxdDvO3YrUHdnSG33rg
  8. Can't remember the last genuinely good season he had. Obviously had an eye on this season during 2022, but he was far from the rider I'm sure Glasgow were expecting.
  9. That's nearly as many riders as you had this season.
  10. What a team that Edinburgh 2008 side was. They absolutely dominated that year.
  11. With you on that one, I'd not be surprised to see Pickering back at a similar level in due course. Then again, good on him for giving it a go. I can't say I understand those crabbing Tom Brennan choosing to move up either - it's his career and his cross to bear if it goes south.
  12. I don't know what's more bonkers: MPT dropping the Championship or Godfrey's next protege (who are the rest?).
  13. I definitely think there'll be a gap between them but let's be real here, Zach Cook has already surpassed Todd Kurtz quite comfortably. I could see him being closer to someone like Steve Worrall/Richard Lawson maybe.
  14. In fairness Steve, you could've said the same about Doyle not that long ago. I accept he's a rare case but it is possible.
  15. Spot on. The intentions behind the lower limit might be good - clearer divide between the 2 leagues, more 'amateur', whatever - but it'll all be undone if they end up paying 2024 second strings a heatleaders wage in 2025.
  16. I have to say I'd be delighted if all of those moved up. Some might sink, some might swim, but all of them (aside from maybe Pickering) are capable of more than the British second division. Hopefully more riders like Doyle and Rasmus Jensen in recent years, who looked like they could get stuck in the Premier League but will be in the Ekstraliga next year.
  17. Probably not but stranger things have happened.
  18. Are there many others with Workington connections still around? Cook looks amazing obvious choice but brings his own issues. Lawson would be a more reliable option. Anyone from the 2018 lot an option?
  19. "So off form" "Drop in form" Which is it? Losing by 4 against a team good enough to get to a knockout cup final is hardly shameful. Dear me, if you're going to try to wind people up then at least have some wit.
  20. Can't help but to love Nicki really, he's pure entertainment. I think he started off with his hard riding purely because he was desperate to win. After that he just enjoyed the hate. The truth is that he's been more successful (in a lot of ways) than some of his rivals will ever be - he knows it and they know it. Speedway legend without question.
  21. It's obviously not going to happen but it is funny that we have this situation with Tarasenko. a) he can't guest because he's on an assessed average in his first season b) he's got an established average for Peterborough so is allowed to guest c) his average fits for Kemp so he's allowed to guest then d) his Peterborough average is too high so he can't guest A rider who simultaneously has an established average, while not having an established average, who is eligible to guest, but also isn't eligible to guest.
  22. What a strange post. Shovlar has been fairly gracious considering, and although he likes a windup, he's hardly pushed the envelope. You've spouted more on here than a thread about your own team losing their respective final - it's odd behaviour. You're - I assume - a grown adult and yet you're wrapped round Shovlar's little finger like a yappy dog whenever he pushes your buttons. As for Richard Lawson, I can't think of a more inoffensive rider. Disliked? Just cause he might have beat one of your team's riders once it doesn't mean he's disliked by everyone else.
  23. I am pretty sure they don't. Then again, I'm pretty sure the rules don't really say much. Maybe they've finally confirmed the qualifying criteria and you're not allowed to race if you're called "Joe Thompson" or "Nathan Ablitt".
  24. They get banned from the next NDL fixture. No doubt about it. I'm sure regardless of what the rules say - or don't say after looking through them - the most convenient option will be followed anyway.
