I don't post on here often but just wanted to say thanks to the Massif. Earlier in the season I was on the verge of stopping going to Foxhall but the combination of the team changes & the noise coming from the back straight stand has made a difference. The atmosphere has certainly improved at Foxhall & with Kevin Long getting involved & recognition from riders & management, I think all those hi-viz wearing, balloon launching musical maestros should take a bow! Shame the season is nearly over, but hope there are play-offs to make some noise at & it continues next season.

Ipswich Witches Vs Peterborough Panthers. 27/8/15
tone deaf replied to Panthers89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Too easy for the Witches, pretty poor meeting to watch. Wait & see what Plymouth can do now. Have to mention that Tom Brennan looked very impressive in the junior races, looks like a good one for the future. -
No hope for the sport when the management committee includes promoters who encourage & participate in unprofessional & childish behaviour. Amateur antics for an amateur sport. I'll look forward to seeing Jose Mourinho staging a sit-in in the centre circle next time he disagrees with a ref's decision & inviting the fans onto the pitch with him.

Amazing after just one interview Hawkins is a villain & Hilton a saint! I didn't hear it so I can't comment but I have always thought Hawkins was a good team guy & a trier on the track unlike some others. He hasn't done it this season so not a major surprise I guess but I was hoping he'd turn things around. Good luck to him for the future & good luck to Ashley Morris who could be a good signing.

Ipswich Witches Vs Berwick Bandits Koc 2nd Leg
tone deaf replied to Pob's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Sad to see a once great speedway team going downhill like this. Hope it can be turned around but from the crowd tonight it looks like most have given up on it already. I know I will be thinking twice about parting with my £16 from now on. -
Totally agree with this. For effort & decent racing, Gino, Cam & Ritchie were the 3 I enjoyed watching & am happy to see them back. Unfortunately the trouble with speedway is that loyalty & commitment count for nothing. I thought Ritchie Hawkins was a good captain & rarely let us down last season but because he had a good season & his average is a bit high, the fans want to see him discarded. I would like to see the Witches win something next year but I also want to see a team of racers, not riders whose race is over if they don't gate. I wish the departing teams members well but can't get worked up about them not being part of the plans for next season.

Witches V Panthers 15-5-14 ( Pl ) 7-30pm
tone deaf replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Don't want to appear negative but personally I don't think this win was any indication of how good the Witches were, it was down to the fact that the Panthers were practically a one man team. On the plus side it was great to see Cam getting somewhere near back to his best & Gino continues to impress. -
Rye House V Ipswich 20 April League Cup
tone deaf replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Very good on occasion & terrible on others. Nothing against him but personally I would prefer a rider who scores 7 or 8 consistently than 14 in one meeting & 3 in the next. -
Love how a rider can get a faultless 18 point maximum & still get slagged off! Theres not many riders who are comfortable team riding these days & maybe he felt that if he slowed down too much he would jeopardise the lead? Anyway, I don't see the point criticising Cook when the blame lies with most of his team mates. Cook scored more than 5 of them put together. If they had managed an extra point between them...

Ipswich V Sheffield (pl) 05 Sept 2013 @ 19:30
tone deaf replied to Witches123's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Totally agree. Ipswich couldn't fail to win in the circumstances but made hard work of it for half the meeting. Definitely missed Barker & Hawkins despite the scoreline! Sheffield unlucky & hope Allen & Lambert are ok. Boring meeting with hardly any passing & several heats with only 3 riders. -
Glasgow V Ipswich Pl Sun 25th Aug 2013@3p.m.
tone deaf replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Great win for the Witches although Glasgow didn't put up much opposition. Good all round team performance but have to agree Morten at 5 doesn't seem the best option. Very impressed by Cam. Grieves was good for the Tigers & I thought North deserved more for his efforts. Glasgow fans were very welcoming to us few Witches fans despite their obvious frustration with their own team. They deserve better & hope they can turn things round. -
Ipswich V Edinburgh 25/7/13

Well there has clearly been something going on between them but nothing happened on track in Heat 1 to set this off. Will wait & see what the official statement has to say! -
Ipswich V Edinburgh 25/7/13
tone deaf replied to Ipswich Jules's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Ok I only saw it after things had already kicked off but from what I've heard from others with a closer view it was an unprovoked attack. I was very surprised at the outcome, not because I thought the ref was wrong but its the first time I can recall having seen a rider kicked out of a meeting in many years of watching speedway. It did not follow on from a racing incident, which would have been a bit more understandable & unfortunately it did spoil the meeting. -

Congratulations to the Witches & if Cook's performance in Heat 1 was anything to go by then he wouldn't have made much difference anyway! As for his actions after Heat 1, there is no excuse & he got what he deserved. I was a fan of Cook's but his spiteful & childish comments after being rightly dropped by Middlo & now this incident have changed my opinion. Those Monarchs fans surrounding Barker's van should maybe take it out on the rider who did the most to lose them the meeting! Well done to Tungate for a great maximum & also Ellis who had 3 good wins. So fast when in front, just needs to build his confidence up for those heats when he doesn't gate. -
Workington Vs Ipswich 29/6/13 Pl

Great result for the Witches. Jackal hope you've noticed Adam Ellis's scores from his last 2 meetings & will forget whatever personal issues you have with him &/or his family & give him a chance now. -
Ipswich Vs Newcastle Thursday 6th June 7.30pm
tone deaf replied to CardinalSin's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Congrats to Newcastle. Better all round team performance & as usual the Witches are inconsistent & never all firing at same time. Heats 13 & 14 were worth the admission alone but Tungate really messed up Barker in Heat 15 & that was that. Newcastle were better from the gate & had a bit of bad luck with falls & bike problems so overall deserved the win. -

Close meeting, well done to the Witches for pulling it off in heat 15. Its great to see some team riding & Ben Barker looks to be a great signing. Well done to Cameron Heeps too. I've been to some cold meetings at Foxhall but that was absolutely freezing! I see a few people moaning about the Witches already but after what happened in the first meeting last year & what I've read about poor Adam Roynon tonight, we should all just be thankful for an injury free opener. -

Workington V Ipswich Lc S/f 13/10
tone deaf replied to dontforgetthefueltapsbruv's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Crazy that we have this problem for a competition started months ago. I feel sorry for Workington fans & if it had been the other way round would have been well p!ssed off but thats the decision so hope the Witches manage to get both finals in before the end of the season & get some silverware. -
Bar a handful of riders (Holder, Ward, Lindgren... its a short list) how many 'top stars' ride in this country? The so called inferior riders often produce superior racing. The fact is the promotion doesn't have the money to put out a competitive EL team right now so there is no point moving back up.
-
The crowd wasn't great but you must have a short memory aljack if you can't recall the pitiful attendances when we were struggling in the EL. In my opinion unless we can find a major backer prepared to put enough money in to make us competitive in the EL we are better off where we are. If you watch the EL on Sky you will know that it is hardly the 'elite' anyway.

Mildenhall V Dudley Sun 19th Aug 16:30
tone deaf replied to 21st century heathen's topic in National League Speedway
First trip over to West Row this season. Interesting meeting & in Heat 13 one of the best races you could hope to see between Garrity & Irving. For 2 guest riders to show such commitment was impressive. Shame Irving had to spoil it in the run up to the line with that move but hope both riders are ok. There seemed to be a couple of Dudley fans who obviously couldn't handle their drink causing a bit of trouble, one guy looking to start a fight for no apparent reason oblivious to the small kids at his feet. Don't like to see football fan type behaviour at a speedway meeting. This was a small minority of an initially very vocal Heathens contingent who were quietened down as the meeting progressed & the Tigers took control. Anyway, congratulations to Mildenhall for a convincing win.
