  1. Really? Strange. He looks so far off it, it’s incredible. At Ashfield against Redcar, he was two or three bike lengths behind the other three riders before they’d even reached the first bend on at least two occasions. Even entering the bends during races, there’s no intent from him.
  2. A 15-point maximum away from home at the track of the reigning CLRC winner at less than two weeks older than 17 years-old to book his side a place in the KO Cup final is remarkable. He wasn’t great on the two occasions I saw him at Ashfield last season, but you could tell he was special. I’ve never saw a 16 year-old with such style or enter a bend so emphatically. Future world champion material, in my opinion.
  3. Congratulations to the Monarchs on a well deserved win, but from a Glasgow perspective, more frustrating disappointment. Chris Harris must be the most frustrated of all. His individual input to the team has been remarkable; he deserves to the in the play-offs. Three paid four from Smith, Pearson and Perry’s ten rides is absolutely woeful. You’re never winning speedway matches with three contributions like that. Yet, the most underwhelming was Ivacic, again. This is reigning Slovenian national champion; a vastly experienced professional who participated with credit in this season’s Speedway of Nations. How on earth is this man only scoring six points across five rides from reserve? I could take or leave Cami Brown, but he was absolutely correct in expediting Max Perry’s three rides because Ivacic at reserve should have been printing points, but yet again, he let Glasgow down, badly. As I said elsewhere, after factoring in visas, flights, work permits, accommodation, transport, etc., he’ll go down as one of the worst signings in the history of Glasgow speedway.
  4. Ivacic must be the, or one of the, most disappointing and underwhelming signings in the history of British speedway.
  5. That’s outrageous. Proper tinpot from Leicester.
  6. Hang-on… Masters might be riding in Poland, so may not make it… Nicholls is at the GP, so at best will be hungover… Jenkins is injured.. Heeps is injured… Call me mad, but hear me out: taking the above into account, I fancy Ivacic to score more than three, you know.
  7. No idea. I simply think Edinburgh’s guests are stronger than Glasgow’s. I’m not suggesting Glasgow have made the wrong choice or Edinburgh picked-up the phone quicker; they simply have the advantage of better guests.
  8. Gutted I’m missing this. A lot at stake, so it should hopefully be a good meeting. Based on the May encounter and Edinburgh utilising the guest facility much more effectively than us, I can’t see past another Monarchs’ win. What’s the latest with Armadale? Will Edinburgh be there next season?
  9. What’s the maths with Glasgow’s play-off aspirations? Do they need to win at Armadale and hope Plymouth win at Workington?
  10. I’m not taking sides here, but why would it be an issue if he was or wasn’t new to the forum? I don’t know who R*****go is, but unless the member was banned and has returned in disguise, I’m confused by what the problem is.
  11. Tigers versus Monarchs meetings used to be half-speedway, half-UFC in the early 2000s. I remember James Grieves clashing with Robert Eriksson, Frede Schött and Christian Henry, all in the space of around three seasons in Scottish derby meetings. Nothing will top Craig Boyce’s right hook on Tomasz Gollob at the 1995 British GP in Hackney. Nicholls versus Sayfutdinov at a later British GP in Cardiff was also a bit mental. What happened with Carl Stonehewer at Reading in around 2004? I remember reading reports about him scrapping with track staff, but can’t remember exactly what’s happened. Hancock on Pedersen a few years ago was tremendous. I love them both, but that whole situation was mental. Greg Hancock attacking someone is on par with David Attenborough being charged with breach of the peace.
  12. Not many, sadly. I remember a time when Scotland had enough riders to field a side in challenge matches against England U21s; James Grieves, Kenny McKinna, Scott Lamb, Kevin Little, Blair Scott, Barry Campbell and Stewart McDonald.
  13. Pay not attention. This is a forum; opinions are voiced and views are exchanged, regardless of the number of posts someone has. Personally, I think it’s a thought-provoking topic and for that reason, I’ll throw in a few more. Jan Pedersen (Arena Essex), Charles Wright, Frede Schött, Nicki Pedersen, Ace Pijper and again, due to the fact he’s the worst I’ve seen, Andre Compton. Disclaimer: I don’t believe anyone intentionally tries to hurt other riders.
  14. Are my eyes playing tricks on me, or have I literally just read a grown adult suggesting that another grown adult shouldn’t start so many topics, implying that he’s acting like a long-term poster?😂 Anyway, the dirtiest rider I’ve ever seen was my ex-girlfriend… oh, speedway? Andre Compton.
  15. I haven’t been able to attend much speedway this season due to travelling for work and last night served as a great reminder of what quality entertainment speedway can deliver. All credit to both teams, plus the track staff. What’s the deal with the boy Ivacic? Did he win a competition with the prize being a place in the Tigers’ line-up? Beyond woeful. An absolutely abysmal investment when you factor in costs associated with visas, work permits, etc. I’d retain Harris (throw money at him to stay) and Pearson, plus maybe… and it’s a huge maybe… for Flint who, although fantastic last night, has had an underwhelming season in Glasgow. I haven’t seen enough of Rowe to comment. Hopefully Jason Edwards wasn’t allowed to leave Ashfield last night without having a glass of red and a discussion about 2025 with the Facenna brothers
  16. https://glasgowtigers.co.uk/two-changes-for-tigers/
  17. That’s criminal from Worrall. It’s so poor. Good to see Flint in amongst the points again. Two heat wins at Armadale on Friday night and another two last night shows momentum, so hopefully he can keep that going. What’s happened to Pijper? He seems so far off the pace, it’s scary. I was picking my arse at 17 years-old and he’s a professional speedway rider, so this isn’t an outright attack on the boy, but he’s really struggled this weekend.
  18. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly changes are made. Given the investments made by the Facenna family, I can’t imagine they’ll have much appetite for waiting until the season is a write-off. I’m assuming any changes will be influenced by who’s available, but selecting who to drop will be a headache. It’s felt like a collective underperformance as opposed to blatant individual failings. If someone had a gun to my head, I’d say Starke and Worrall had to make way. Credit where it’s due, Flint’s recent form has improved, so I’d save him.
  19. Wow. Triggered by a comment that didn’t involve you at 7:30PM on a Saturday evening. Take care.
  20. You can’t have seen Chris Harris last night have him third…
  21. Again, I agree, Glasgow were rubbish, but they had seven heat winners, so your logic must also be applied to Edinburgh on those seven occasions; not fast enough. Regardless, it was a really poor night of speedway. I caught myself a few times thinking, ”I was critical of Plymouth’s track a few weeks ago, but I’ve just paid £21 to watch an expensive, boring game of follow the leader”.
  22. Agreed; Glasgow were poor, but your comment implies only one party (us) weren’t trying to make an entertaining evening of it which wasn’t the case. 95% of that meeting was follow the leader with not a single close finish. Very disappointing.
