  1. The wording there that he needs 2 Leagues in the UK to make it pay is partly why British Speedways in the mess it's in, he see's it as a cash cow because Polands possibly not worked out for him. There should be no doubling up/down except for British Riders under 24
  2. Number 7s should be protected all Season (if that's 2 point riders so be it but they should be protected fully) and no averages given and at No 7 all season, Number 6s should also be British U24s only under 4 points. If at the end of year 1 (or 2 or 3 or year 4) your Number 7 has achieved a 4+ point average (on paper) they have to move to number 6 berth or main body and a new no 7 comes in. (If for any reason a British U24 rider is struggling in main body and drops under 4 points they can go back to Number 6) These numbers could be tweaked but they have to be British u24s and protected. Let's be honest if you've got a reserve taking 6 or 7 rides and beating 1-5s regularly should they actually be at reserve and protected longterm, no they shouldn't and neither should ex Gp stars riding at Reserve!
  3. No one should be paying for it and that's been a problem for years, once they reach NDL age (15) and someone pays them they start riding once every 2 to 3 weeks depending on the fixtures because in their eyes why should they practice if no one's paying them for it? There's plenty tracks doings Amatuer Meetings and on the look out for riders at all engine sizes for Competive 2nd half but most won't travel because they have to pay their own way. If they're good enough Clubs will pick them up regardless (let's be honest the parents foot the Bill to bring the Kids up to the age of 16 with Club's not really having any input then take all the credit for everything)
  4. So your saying they are Squandering TV money and Sponsor money on riders who are are adding 200 to each home Meeting....that in it's is part of the problem with British Speedway ...spend more to bring in less makes a lot of sense right enough! The state of the top flight with it's 4-6 teams is proof the big names are not working.
  5. Ok I'll take your bet, please provide proof to back up your statement that Emil is adding 200 to every track he's rode at this Season? There's this mistaken belief that the "Big Names" are British Speedways savours...yet to see it working as all they're doing is taking the big pounds out the Sport while they're allowed too.
  6. If this is the case why isn't some of the "TV Money" being used to bring the youngsters on...The Youth Championship no longer gets payments towards clubs hosting a round therefore half the Clubs don't bother (payments I believe used to be around £600 per meeting to help with Medical Cover Etc). Why isn't some of it being used to pay towards Clubs running Qualifying Meetings for each Leagues Riders Championships so every rider named in a 1-7 can Qualify for the Final and make it meaningful? Everyone blames Godfrey and Co for everything yet the "Top Six " takes all the money and splashes it on big names looking for top up wages who actually don't add to the gate numbers?
  7. There were 8 Teams in 2023 that's 56 riders and everyone of them named in the starting 1-7s should have had the opportunity to Qualify for the Final (nobody's fussed when it comes around as they were n't the 1st choice the way it's set up with top 2 from each team) This should be standard in all Leagues, bring back Qualifying and make it meaningful ... not just another self entitlement to an extra pay day because you top the averages at a certain date.
  8. 100% agree with you regarding Bailey, imo that's a consequence of doubling up and the current set up protecting the higher earners etc (who can't make it pay with riding in 1 UK leauge) and him being forced out the CL initially with Workington giving him the platform to progress. It should be set up to protect him and the rest of the u24s (I'm sure I read in SS Poland are considering stopping foreign riders in certain Leagues again as they now have enough of their own), sadly our system panders to big names to come fix the sport at the detriment to our youngsters progressing.
  9. It's quite laughable that Godfrey and co get the blame regularly. The NDL currently has 3 types of riders, those who shouldn't be riding in it as they are (let's be honest) taking sweeties off the kids to top up their stash, the 2nd batch are those who the are using the League for what it was designed for (Development) the 3rd lot are the self entitled bridgade that believes when they turn 15 they should be paid (They then stay NDL for several years with no progression whilst getting paid for it thinking they don't need to get a job because they are "Professional Speedway Riders) Similarly no no 1 in the PL should be a No 1 in the CL just so they "get enough meetings to make it pay" Only doubling up allowed should be British riders under 24 Fix the Sport, protect the British Youngsters who are progressing and stop the self entitlement.
  10. If your referring to Pijper the promotion were told he wasn't doing CL this season then he signed on at Glasgow, Luke Harrison was the 1st to come properly through their Academy (from around the age of 8) but he wasn't spoken to about signing for the Bullets when he turned 15 and made his choice this season to go to Workington after offers from NDL Clubs, has since had a Guest spot for a number of Meetings at Redcar this Season covering for Mulford.
  11. Sanctions should be made against Nowak next time he comes to our shores after heading home and putting the Polish League 1st (increase in average perhaps) to ensure clubs don't use this get around to strengthen teams, and we all know it's a scam to get a stronger 1-7 for the playoffs.
