A couple of times at least and appears to have gone well. Surely just a matter of time before comets announce that signing?
-
Borke on a 4 would be great value for you!
-
Victim of his own success to an extent? Made excellent progress in his first two seasons which increased expectations, but didn’t progress as I’m sure he’d have hoped to this season. Away GSA of 5.06 (lower than Paco and Lasse) speaks volumes. I’d just left by time Campbell gave his speech after the last meeting, but many described it as being ‘very harsh’ on the team. You’d think the promotion aren’t planning on having too many back next season, and maybe they feel Kye didn’t do enough to warrant a place. Or, maybe, their plan is to try and build a team that can win home matches again, and think he is a good fit for that. Who knows! A really nice, likeable guy and would wish him all the best, including securing a spot elsewhere, if not returning.
-
To add to the injury point, he always seems to come back and be very tentative for a good while after it. Openly said during a meeting that he wasn’t trying hard. Can be frustrating. Differing risks with each option.
-
A shame we couldn’t squeeze Lasse in at 2 there. Think Jacob might struggle at 2.
-
Not a bad looking team. Personally, would go for Hume at 4 and quite happily have Coles at reserve.
-
Is an interesting debate, to be fair, as I know people who say Lasse and others say Borke. Both different riders with different aspects to work on.
-
Does it really have a long tail? Decent, established riders at second string (not reserves) and Sam Hagon could easily be one of the better reserves in the league this coming season.
-
Didn’t appreciate Hume is only 4.72. Surely going to be high in demand!!
-
I’d be gutted, personally, particularly with his comments earlier this season, but well aware Dickson could persuade him over us!
-
Lasse at reserve would be a bit of a trump card, assuming he could replicate his form when he rode at reserve prior to his injury. At 4.57, and with the 38 point limit, it probably wouldn’t be possible. Bastian at reserve a bit more likely.
-
Riss would be a great number 3, agreed. Best in the league, potentially. I mistakenly took Clegg’s average from his time only with us this season!
-
Thanks. That changes things!!

Purely for discussion… 1. Josh Pickering 2. Paco Castagna 3. Kevin Wolbert 4. Lasse Fredriksen 5. Richie Worrall 6. 2 pointer 7. Max Clegg Thereabouts with a 38 point limit? Assumed 7.50(?) for Wolbert and 2.32 for Clegg, but someone can confirm what they’d likely be? Wouldn’t have a strong reserve, particularly away from home, but as good a three heat leaders you could get with the 38 limit maybe? Does bring back four from last season, which I said I was against, but can anyone realistically think of a better option than Lasse around that average?
-
He was very impressive recently (first ride apart), but Richie would be more likely. If a team has made plans for Richie, and the hearing doesn’t go well, might be left out on a limb a little.
-
Fair point. I just think the four riders (Hook and not Borke) had last season as well as this season, with the club going backwards, so going for a third would be a mistake, in my view. Would love to be proven wrong, obviously!
-
Difficult to judge, aye, but bringing back four riders from a team that were so far off the pace last season gives me the fear. The scars are still visible Made the play-offs but only because the other three teams were so bad. Miles away from the top fives teams. Miles. Brennan a shout but I’d be hoping to try and squeeze him in instead of Kye.
-
Exactly. Think the club looked after him well. But, personally, I think from Borke’s point of view, it’s a bit of a no brainer. Unfortunately.
-
I’ve always thought Borke would end up at Glasgow next season. Watching him at Armadale was painful at times, sadly, as such a talented rider but one of the worst gaters and struggled on the tighter track. Less of an issue at Glasgow. Sure he’d prefer a home track he’s far more comfortable on.
-
Steady mate Glasgow could’ve put me in for Harris, and they still would’ve made the playoffs!! Agree with you - shrewd from Glasgow.

Glasgow V Poole Championship Final 8/10/23 6pm

What second strings mate? They have four heat leaders at home (five when Vissing riding) with two reserves! -
My posts were before I read that, to be fair. Changes things obviously. Be interesting to see who he does bring in as his no.1.
-
Just have a feeling that’s where he might be next season.

Berwick fans, out of interest, would you take Cook next season?
