  1. Did the question of if he qualifys for a work permit ever get answered?
  2. And if 2 riders are missing? For me guests are a necessary evil, what I would like reintroduced is the rule where you only get a guest up to a riders home average for home meetings and away average for away meetings that way there is no benefit to a team when a home track specialist is missing when they ride away.
  3. BWD, Lasse Bjerre, Dmitri Berge, Thomas Jonasson (I know there are commitment issues there) 4 off the top of my head throw in riders who potentially could double up/down as averages allow such as Bewley, Lidsey, Porsing, Tungate, Anderson, Jensen, Musielak obviously not all of these riders are available but it only needs a couple to be and it’s problem solved really
  4. For me there is zero reason whatsoever for the points limit to be reduced, the 2 arguments for it seem to be 1 - rider availability 2 - cost cutting both of these are absolute nonsense, there are riders available to fill slots left by riders not returning and if the issue is lack of heat leaders then instead of having a 9 point man and a 3 point man sign 2 5.5/6 point man there seems to be an abundance of these. cost cutting is the biggest fallacy of proponents of reducing the average as simple economics is cost is dictated by supply and demand all you do in that instance is move the demand to lower average riders who in turn increase their demands. I remember the year that 2 British reserves were dictated below a certain average the Monarchs approached a few and were keen to sign one who then promptly demanded a ridiculous signing on fee and other perks that would have made his package on a par with Craig Cook all this for a guy who has never turned a wheel at Championship level (and now I think might be out the sport) The limit should stay at 41 points and if we have teams that can’t build to that and aren’t competitive then that’s on them. Why is there always this constant rush in speedway to lower standards to that of the worst rather than raise them to that of the best?

  11. Hi Rob, event should be able to watch on demand if you click through to the match report https://www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk/news-centre/article/2020-10-02/lawson-takes-the-title- then there is a link at the bottom to buy the recording
  12. There are ways round that though, for example the Edinburgh stream that was due to launch this year had a geographical block on it so it was only available if you were a certain distance away from the stadium so as not to discourage the normally attending fans. I don’t think streaming is going to revolutionize the sport but where it can help is in the shortcomings of fans through the gate. Away fans apart from the odd local derby are all but non existent now and that is a market that can be tapped. Using say Somerset as an example, realistically for a normal league match they would probably have 10 fans or so in attendance at Armadale. Now if the match is available for them to stream at say £10 you may lose the 10 fans that would attend but if that is made up by 50/60 somerset fans buying the stream plus another 10/20 neutrals that might just fancy it then you have increased income probably by about £500 multiply that by 20-25 home matches and it could be another £10k+ plus in the club coffers

  18. hi Iain As one of the two hosts of Talk Speedway thanks for listening we have great fun doing them and I’d agree that some of the nefarious stories and goings on behind the scenes the guests tell us about you almost wouldn’t believe haha From an audio point of view I’m not aware of any others, video wise there is the speedway tavern and the speedway chat show on Facebook For me as a speedway fan it’s been a small positive to come out of the current situation the amount of content being created. Especially as an avid podcast listener as well I’m really enjoying having speedway content to listen to as well as produce.
