  1. Exactly. Would anyone give morons like Godfrey and Chapman a couple of million quid?
  2. Silver played his part by selling to a bloke who had no idea about the sport and had no attachment to the sport or club. A decision which has ultimately seen the demise of the club. Warren Scott had no real interest and then left the running of the club to Steve Jenson who again had no idea about the sport and came across as completely out of his depth. Had all the personality of a wet lettuce and employed people like Peter Schroeck who was out of his depth. Also seems he overpaid with wages to Harris, Nicholls, KK etc causing issues in the second season in the top flight. The whole situation is an absolute disgrace and sums up the sport and the prats running it. A track with unlimited restrictions, history in the sport and a profitable business for nearly 20 years. Then half a season of financial issues (due to being forced to run on a weekday by the BSPA) and the track is lost and ripped out within a couple of years. Chapman and Godfrey were an abomination in charge of the sport and played a huge part in the demise as well. Two more incompetent fools would be hard to find. Bringing fixed race nights nearly ruined many clubs and cost Rye. Rye has never been a midweek club and it was never going to work. After very good crowds in 2017(racing on Fridays/Saturdays) and only just missing out on the playoffs, you can't blame BMR for giving it ago in the top league again but the rule bought in killed the club. For the BSPA to then just chuck the club out midseason and wash their hands of the club was a disgrace. I wouldn't have thought Silver very rarely ever lost money at Rye and Jenson confirmed the finances were in good shape after the first season in the top flight. Three months of problems and the decisions of the BSPA meant the bulldozers have moved in eventually. With idiots like Godfrey still in charge of the sport, there is no hope. This is the bloke who stopped clubs running on their usual nights in case he needed guests for his club... How did the bloke in there now, Ricky Musk get hold of the venue off BMR? Why were the BSPA not in touch with BMR as soon as they knew they had problems and taking on the stadium or getting another promoter in there? They sat on their backsides and let someone like Keven Jolly try and get a deal to race at a venue where speedway was the number one priority at the venue for many years The situation at Rye should make every fan who has an interest in the sport very, very angry. A club with a long history and who had very healthy crowds in 2017 are now lost forever. A sad indictment on the sport.
  3. Wasn't Ford also having an affair with the admin lady at the BSPA at the time as well? I recall a new account was set up on the forum which spilled all the beans over the episode but was quickly removed by the moderators as it didn't paint Ford or the sport in a good light.
  4. Happened about 15ft in front of me. Horrendous sound and impact and not a nice feeling walking out not knowing any news.. Beggars belief when a fairly innocuous get off like Lee Richardson's can cause a loss of life and others far worse don't see that sort of outcome..
  5. Stuart Robson at Mildenhall 07. Picked up grip and went straight on into the armco barrier full throttle. Thought he was dead. Meeting abandoned and towels and sheets put up as the paramedics worked on him. Ended up with a smashed sternum and pelvis
  6. Cook has always come across as a bit of a t0sser who throws his dummy out the pram. Quite simply, he's been wound up by Eastbourne & reacted how he usually does. Fell for it hook line and sinker and lost his head. Didn't he assault an official at the fours a couple of years ago? By being a brat & riding off in the middle of the parade when members of the public, mechanics and officials etc are on the track is the actions of a prat. He's then thrown in the head/shoulder to a volunteer and cracked someone with a right hand when they've told him to behave himself. What happened after is irrelevant really and handbags. Nothing to get excited over. Not sure why Vissing and Kennett need to be sanctioned but suppose they didn't want to be seen to be picking on Cook even though he caused it all with his behaviour. You'd expect anyone associated with Eastbourne to be a bit peeved if an away rider cries about a perfectly rideable track, strikes a volunteer and tries to chin a Dugard. Cook needs to be sanctioned for a long period so he starts showing some respect towards officials, fans and other riders.
  7. Was going to travel across for this but not now. Shambles
  8. Good meeting. Have always enjoyed Peterborough as a race track and it didn't disappoint. Very well prepared by Buster in his Stars jacket. Have managed to catch Lynn at Ipswich and today and they look a poor side. Lamberts scores are completely unacceptable for a number one and will be in trouble when Toft moves up. A couple of areas of annoyance-Turnstiles had 6 bays to pay but only 3 open plus a season ticket entrance. Open all of them up to stop queuing and shambles of people moving from queue to queue resulting in people getting p1ssed off. Clean the bloody seats in the stand. Dirt and dust all over them. Not acceptable in this day and age to pay over £20 (with a programme) to have to sit in dirt. I know most speedway fans turn up in their best Lonsdale but have some respect for the paying customer. Music-one of the better sound systems in British speedway but not a tune from the last 20 years played. Grease, Wigfield-Saturday night & Buck's Fizz Eurovision classic "making your mind up" stand out as particular horrors among many. Get with the times.
  9. Track work was poor with a couple of blokes walking around with hoses through the meeting. Water was only sprinkled on just before meeting started as well. Track needs to be soaked overnight & continually worked on up to start time to keep some moisture in it. That didn't happen. Very decent crowd covered in dust. Eastbourne will be hard to beat at home as the two reserves are dialled in & will provide good support for the top 3. Good to see a proper presenter in Kevin Coombes.
  10. Pr1ck. Rye probably had the second/third highest average crowds in the division on a Saturday or Friday night last season.
  11. Yes anyone could see it coming, but Dumb and Dumber haven't helped. They have made the team weaker with Robson returning and are well under the limit. What the hell is Clegg still doing here at the end of June??? Although Garrity is a plonker, Rye should have been all over him after his scores and watching him this season. As someone has mentioned, if there skint and have no money then come out and say it so the fans can get the picture. It just seems they have no idea how to build a team or have any knowledge of riders who could come in and improve it all. Be proactive ffs, they waited until home defeats last season before they realised the team wasn't strong enough then missed out by a point or two.
  12. The spare points need using to make the top five stronger. Pointless using them on a 3.80 rider who will make little difference.
  13. Tripe side that. Pathetic from the promotion. Obviously didn't want to spend any money or show any ambition. Dire for the rest of the season. Clegg still in the side is an insult as it's basically a 6 man side still. Even replacing him eventually will be pointless as the rest of the side is so crap.
  14. Kennett is at reserve if Robson has been reintroduced meaning they'll just use a guest. No idea why they haven't pulled their finger out and signed someone using the extra points after the averages changed. 3 meetings in 6 days using guests and well under the limit is stupid.
  15. Not surprising from Masters, made a tw4t of himself at the Aussie GP a couple of years ago when he started crying after the top boys showed him what top level racing was all about.
  16. The promotion won't change the top 5 now. Summers has been purchased some kevlars now, so they won't waste money buying him a set and then dropping him. Robson will come back in & they'll just replace Clegg with the extra points available. Would only leave around 3-3.5 for a new rider so whoever comes in wont make much difference. Promotion probably losing money already with the FRN at Rye so won't splash out on a rider to come into the top 5. Besides if Poole can't find anyone then Rye have no chance.
  17. I believe Shadders was making the point about Allott as your talking out of your arse. Edward Kennett has been a 7-9 point elite league rider for a number of years apart from the last couple. Why can't he score 11+3 without it being a trick track?
  18. Time up for Clegg surely with the change of averages with Rye well below the 42.5 limit. NBJ facility also up. Robson will return by the looks of it with no meetings for a couple of weeks & no other changes. Doesn't look like there is any appetite to shake the side up with all the top five being purchased new kevlars. A season of away drubbings, tight home meetings and a sixth place finish beckons. Joy.
  19. You mustn't have been watching your speedway at Lynn for many years then if that's your preferred offerings on the racing. Very salty comments from the six fingered lot on here lol
  20. Putting a decent side together would help. The abject performance in the 1st leg would have put many off. Mid week crowds have been well down though generally at Rye. The bank holiday meeting against Somerset and Saturday/Friday meetings last season saw very good crowds....
  21. His scores this season have been completely unacceptable for a rider of his experience Stop making crap excuses. We'll swap for Morris if your such an admirer.
