Just ignore the silly old fool. He wants a rise, don't give it to him

Sounds like it's looking more positive looking on the Rye Facebook page. Fair play to the RHAG for their efforts. Track measurements taking place. Interesting what area they will have to work with as possible junior football pitch in the middle plus it looked as though there was paving over where the track used to be. I'd hope if there is a blank canvas that they contact Chris Morton and get the dimensions for the NSS or the Oak Tree Arena. Obviously, it wouldn't be as big but something that rides the same as those tracks would be ideal.

The crowds were down by way more than half. The average in 2017 must have been around the 1,500 mark as there were some big crowds that year at Rye. On a Monday or Wednesday night they were down to 500 for some of them and remember being at the Leicester meeting in 2018 on a Monday/Wednesday with crap weather and there couldn't have been more than 400 max. Fixed race nights killed the club and those two clowns, Godfrey and Chapman refused to let Rye go back to Saturday nights and preferred to kill the club instead. This is why no one takes the sport seriously in this country. We are killing clubs and using fixed race nights so riders can ride for multiple teams. The two leagues are no different in standard now. I have hardly attended a British meeting since Rye closed as it's mickey mouse with riders riding for two clubs at basically the same level. There can't be any attachment to riders and must look completely insane to outsiders.

Rye House was one of a few profitable tracks from 2000-2017 and Len Silver never lost money at Rye House. If you come up with nonsense and ask if anyone can make money then you are showing a lack of knowledge. It's no wonder someone has a pop. What a strange observation. I wouldn't have thought anyone gives a toss where you live. It's an objection to a planning application. Do you think the applicant is going to put nasty messages through your letterbox?

The BSPA have been asked to put out the link to object to planning but aren't interested. I noticed they put the link to object to Coventry out last week though. Tossers. This sort of crap and the way the BSPA played a significant role in the closure of Rye House, it's no wonder the sport is dying on its arse. Not a surprise at all. BMR and Scott wouldn't have hung around for long though with his bankruptcy/financial issues. Always thought the way Musk got hold of the lease was dodgy what with Scott being made bankrupt and HMRC probably sniffing around at that period... Did Scott owe him money(must have known each other through the motorsport/construction world) and offered the stadium??

The arrogant tosser(Ricky Musk) had to withdraw his last one as it was embarrassing.

Chris replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Schroeck used to come out with the same nonsense when he was TM at Rye House. Awful TM who is afraid to take reserves out of rides and completely miss T/S opportunities. -
Always thought Garry Steads terrible injury could have been avoided. Jordan Frampton was a fair way behind the action as I recall and just piled into Stead who was laying on the track rather than dropping the bike on a six pence.

So he's eventually found some mug to buy him a couple of bikes

Think that'll be the last you'll see of speedway in Swindon. Sad.

Link should be fine. Must be an issue their end with server/maintenance on the website...

Sounds like Musk is doing all this without planning permission. T0sser. The whole episode needs looking into how he got the lease from BMR/Liquidators, why the planning permission for the gymnasium was never made public and how he has been able to get away with flattening the place when he doesn't have permission and goes against the terms of the lease...

It had become a bit stale at Rye in the old PL. Len Silver put some awful sides together in his last few years and had pissed a lot of fans off with his "I'll do it my way" attitude towards the fans. It needed a change after his 15 years in charge, but he sold to the wrong people and that has seen the demise of the club. The season in the Premiership was a breath of fresh air and the crowds proved that. Rye only just missed out on the playoffs that season in the final meeting and would have had a good chance of winning the league as they stuffed eventual champions Swindon that evening. In hindsight, BMR should have gone back down to the Championship, but it would have been a huge step down after a successful season in the Premiership. I'm sure the BSPA offered BMR money and assurances after they forced fixed race nights, but sounds like they never came and their role in the whole episode is a disgrace They also let Swindon keep their regular race night that season I recall and refused to allow it for Rye even when they knew the club was in trouble due to midweek meetings...
-
Rye must have averaged around the 1,300-1,500 mark in their first season in the top flight, so it's complete bullsh1t, when people come out with the crowds weren't there. They were there but were never going to be after being forced to run on a weekday by the pair of clowns.

Fair play to Ribbons or anyone attempting to make it difficult for Musk. T0ssers like him shouldn't be able to trample over years of history. The best outcome is for motorsports only to be enforced at the site and this will put him in a difficult position. I don't see Rye ever returning now as the track is gone and lease to someone who doesn't care about the club/sport. The whole thing is an absolute disgrace and the Speedway Star should be asking questions about the whole episode. The role of the two imbeciles, Chapman/Godfrey needs to be questioned as they played a major part in the clubs demise.
-
What was said in The Star? Did laugh when I saw the headline, "The Fight Goes On". The tracks just been flattened
-
You mean the bloke who stopped clubs running on their favoured race nights incase he needed guests for his club? The bloke who was part of blowing £500k on useless engines? The bloke who bought in fixed race nights nearly destroying most clubs? The bloke who played a part in the bulldozers flattening Rye House(a profitable business for nearly 20 years) this week? if we're praising buffoons like Godfrey and Chapman then the fans and sport deserves all it gets.
