Championship Of Gb

Move on fella. You have already mentioned him pulling out of the mickey mouse under21 world cup and should not get rewarded due to that fact on many other threads. Methinks he would have got more benefit from a good performance in the EL on Monday rather than face the might of Germany B. Anyway he won the qualifier so he has as much right to be there as anyone. Get behind our young riders instead of having a dig. -
Whats the problem with Stange? Is he definately out as it will give Steve Boxall another go if he is and he has taken a guest booking on Sunday already?

Team Speedway Junior World Championship
Chris replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
Been keeping a watch on Klindt's scores this season and he looks to be performing very well. Looks to be the one to watch in the next few seasons. How old is he and has he had offers from England at all yet? Is he a racer or a gater? Germans will be strong at home, but Denmark look fairly strong. Will be between those two with GB and Latvia way behind. Shame most nations don't take this competition seriously as it could be very good, but with some nations sending poor teams and others not even bothering sending a team then it devalues it greatly. Also seeding the home nation into a world final doesn't do alot for its credibility. Understand they need the crowd for the final, but no one should be seeded to a supposed world final. -
Under 21s World Team Cup

Oh well then Steve blame and have another go at Rye House. Your hypocrisy is laughable saying that I slag off a club! More pot, kettle, black. See your favourite rider has got a call up to the GP. Oh well -

Steve Yep I want to see us get back to the top and dominate again as well. Blame tango man Russell for bringing them over. Any number of clubs could have bought the first foreigners over. Do you honestly think that if the tango man hadn't have bought them over then no other club would have signed foreigners? No. -
Under 21s World Team Cup
Chris replied to GM's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Not talking about the final. We didn't qualify for it anyway. The qualifiers were poor and as you say a few nations pulled out. The Czezhs were seeded straight into the final as well so another reason why the tournament is a joke. Yes they were the home nation, but it's laughable a team can be directly seeded into a supposed world final. -
Anyone got the semi final draws?

Under 21s World Team Cup
Chris replied to GM's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Yep your team Kings Lynn are the benchmark for giving our young Brits team places. How many foreigners in that team now? 6 is it? Pot, kettle, black old son. As I have said if this tournament wasn't treated as a nothing more than a joke by some nations then fine, but last season it was embarrassing. Get the competetion in good working order and make sure every nation takes it seriously and then we can send our youngsters over. Why should we lose our youngsters for a meeting to go and participate against Germany, Germany B and a Mongolia/Russian select? -
Bridger too young?

Lawson struggles to get too meetings in this country, so getting to Germany would be even more of a problem. His commitment in getting to certain meetings over the past few seasons has been questionable so maybe mud has stuck. Perhaps Oakes wasn't happy about him missing the under-21 final either. Lets be honest this under-21 world cup when announced was a great idea and was excellent for our young riders to gain abit more experience abroad. Unfortunatly though the competeition was a farce last season with teams dropping out and B teams and mixed nation teams having to make up the numbers. With important EL and PL meetings on this specific weekend then it's not really worth it as the competition just doesn't justify the riders absence. I'm not surprised Drury is keen to let Wright go as his record at Rye is dreadful and his guest will most likely score much better. Wouldn't surprise me if Len and Cook objected to the riders going. Afterall Rye will have Kennett and Boxall missing and Eastbourne would have Bridger and Kennett. I'm all for our young riders getting more experience, but the tournament is a farce and just gets in the way of important league meetings. Hopefully the under-21 tournament gets better in the future and then it will be worth sending our youngsters. -
Track was completely olsen'd and was shocking. No dirt, but a fine powder. Pretty turgid stuff and was struggling to stay interested after the first few heats. We have the worlds best on view and Olsen serves them that to ride on. Wish someone would have taken that clipboard off him and smashed it over the wallys head. Rickardsson didn't look right at all. Something wrong there, but blaming his performance because of flu is bullsh*t. Nicholls has a huge mental problem and until he gets over it is never going to progress into the top level. He just doesn't believe he is good enough when it comes to the crunch races. You can predict before the semi he will not go through. He doesn't have the belief, which means he rides poorly and his gating in the big races is quite frankly appalling. The less said about Richardson the better. He doesn't belong at this level. Time to give other Brits ago. With not being able to watch many of the GP's, due to Rye at home on same night I was hoping to be entertained by the worlds best, but the Danish wally spoilt the whole meeting. Easy World title unfortunatly for the Ginger whinger.

Get a life Rob Peahead. Your constant snipes at the greatest rider ever are pathetic and the reason why Oxford fans are not getting any sympathy. Some of the rubbish they have been spouting about Trick has been laughable. If you want to blame someone for your pathetic start to the season then look at a certain rider in your team at the moment. Tony will go down as the greatest Rob and that gets under your skin. Get over it. His time at Oxford will be an irrelevance to all but a few like you when looking back on his career.

Champs Of Gb Qualifier

Suppose you have to try and release your anger after we dumped you out of Premier Trophy and Play offs last season. Still bitter old boy? Oh no now we have to put up with him doing sod all at Belle Vue and wasting a place in the field. With riders like Ashworth in our national final is doesn't say alot. He was half decent out of the gate all night and that was all that was needed on that surface. The shale that Len has purchased off Wimbledon at the start of the season looks mickey mouse. It's almost like a fine, red powder, which won't hold any water or moisture, resulting in a blue groove after the first six heats. Nothing wrong with the watering during the meeting on Saturday as the cart was out after most heats in the first three quarters of the meeting, but can only do so much if the shale is no good. Maybe could have put on a touch more beforehand, but prob wouldn't have made much difference. The blue groove means the riders can just sit on it and they are too quick and with the shale being too fine and the limited dirt so far out at a late stage it gets processional, as it would do at any track. Not a good one too watch in all honesty and the home men dominated, with Kennett having his gating boots on and being untouchable. He will do well at Belle Vue as its his sort of track and could repeat last years British Final performance. -
Champs Of Gb Qualifier

No big deal. The old man wouldn't have qualified anyway. Best off him helping Stoke try to win at home anyway as they look a poor team as it is. They need all the help they can get. Bottom 3 AGAIN. Hopefully he is fined for a late withdrawl from the championship and banned from some league meetings. It only seems fair. If the riders are going to treat the national championship with such distain then some punishment should follow. Such is life. -

Should be a good one. Hopefully track will be nice and grippy as weather is supposed to be sunny all day so hopefully aload of water chucked on it. Will be completely different from Mondays meeting. Would be very surprised if the home two don't finish in the top six, but all the rest look to have a chance apart from Ashworth, Tacey and Cunningham. Far too many riders seeded into the final though. -

Chris replied to djt31's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
To be fair Brundle did average 7+ at home and about 2 away so he comes across as abit of a Lynn specialist! No not going tonight, maybe a good choice with the weather looking dodgy. At Lynn, wet track, plenty of mud!! Kennett and Boxall won't qualify now!! -

Yep saw the other thread, but no offence to who started it, but they look like they suffer from Dyslexia with the topic headline. If Kennett doesn't get through he will get the wildcard anyway so it doesn't really matter. Yes all riders should gbe able to ride all tracks so lets hope the top boys go through and a Lynn specialist like Brundle doesn't. -

Line Up:(Not in riding order) Daniel King Edward Kennett James Wright Ben Wilson William Lawson Lewis Bridger Steve Boxall Luke Bowen Ben Barker Joel Parsons Jason King James Brundle Benji Compton Richie Dennis Joshua Auty Courtney/Lambert/Hargreaves(Run Off) So much for the oompa lumpa raising the bar for this meeting and publicising it like no one before! So he gets his crayons out and puts an advert in the Star? Well done! Shame this meeting is on a Wednesday and not a Friday/Saturday night. Whats the reason for not staging it on Friday night? Jason King spoke absolute rubbish in the star this week when he said that he was in favour of it being at Lynn as it meant riders who can't ride small tracks will have a better chance of qualifying in Poland for example. Wrong Jason. Do you think if a James Brundle or yourself qualify now that it is at Lynn you will storm the field in the qualifying rounds and get in the world final? Answer is no. King bombed out in the qualifying rounds before so speaking rubbish. The best under 21's have qualified for the world rounds over the last few years it has been staged, but doubt we will get that at Lynn. Riders like Brundle, Jason King, Parsons could easily quaify as they go half decent round Lynn. Think it's five through and one wild card. Fancy D.King, Wright, Lawson(if his bikes work), Kennett and Boxall to qualify. If it's too deep you can take Kennett and Boxall out though. Bridger could do anything, but he'll get the wildcard anyway if he doesn't qualify. -
"the Truth Behind The Gosford Fiasco"
Chris replied to tarabanko's topic in International World of Speedway
Good on the organisers for telling it how it was. <personal comment removed>. Why should the riders be exempt from a grilling because it could upset them. These are men and not little girls. Go on another forum Ron where there will be no criticism. Everyone knows that Schlein, Watt and Lyons are cry babies and have all seen them cry over track conditions before. Lyons and Watt are two of the mentally weakest riders about and if aren't happy about something then won't try. Look at Lyons' pathetic performance at Wolves last season and Watt has often cried over spilt milk and loves a moan. Schlein on occasions has shown he believes his own hype a little too much and Doolan and Batchelor thought they were some sort of superstars last season after winning a couple of end of season trophies against a weakened team. Notice the riders who wanted too ride are racers and not bottle jobs who believe they are something special and up their own backsides. Nice to see the Aussies telling it how it is. Shame we don't see more of it in this country. -
Any idea what club has offered Ed Kennett a contract? Will obviously have to be introduced in the transfer window now, but sounds like he has an offer on the table.

Hans Andersen Statement

Yeah that Rickardsson fella ain't a real world champion is he? -
Absolute joke! What a shambles and agree with others that the under 21 title for 2005 should be null and void. Riders shot themselves in the foot though as they should have been tougher and refused to ride after a ride each when it became clear no racing could take place and their safety was in doubt. The poxy FIM then could have done sod all and would have had to rearrange it. Looking at the pictures I feel sorry for Kasprzak. He looks elated with the win but he didn't win it and his win will be tainted and he will know in his heart of hearts that he was not under 21 world champion. If I was in his position I'm not sure I would have accepted the trophy. Also why Suchanek and Lindgren even went on the podium I have no idea. They should have been disgusted with the decision to toss a coin to determine the winner and why they are all smiles goodness knows!! You would have thought they would have refused to take part in such a sick ceremony with the FIM officials after the days events. Sad day for speedway.

Scandinavian GP - Meeting comments
Chris replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thought there was some cracking racing on display with certain riders going over the edge on occasions but that is what made the meeting exciting and what will get the sport the publicity it needs. The Pedersen/Gollob and Andersen/Lindback battles were great too watch. As someone else has said it was great watching Andersen and Lindback trying to kill each other with their moves in one heat and Gollob and Perdersen going at it hammer and tong. It was great too watch and provided tremendous excitement. Some other moves like Andersen on Nicholls and Crump on Gollob added to the meeting and made it a cracking GP. We need this sort of action on a regular occurance and to see riders getting emotional like Nicki. Great GP. More of the same hard and sometimes dangerous riding with evey rider not giving an inch.
