  1. Johno usually ok, but was a wally tonight. His reaction when Lindback fell was appalling. After high siding at high speed and smashing head/shoulder/side on track he says to AL " get up and get on with it!" as if it was a nothing incident. Yeah ok Johno. Next time your high sided onto the track and hit head/shoulder and side on the track I'll come over to you and tell you to get up and get on with it. I can imagine what his reaction will be! Thats if he has not already been loaded into an ambulance. Poor piece of commentating and considering he is a fellow rider then his words/advice were disgusting towards AL.
  2. Crump, Hancock, Nicholls, Harris, Iversen, Kennett, Janniro, Daniel King, Rye team and more to be confirmed.
  3. IOW way too good and Holder and Bunyan were a class apart all afternoon. They demonstrated how you ride a big track. Full throttle, plenty of bollocks on display and with your rear wheel about an inch from the fence. Usual Rye crap around a big un. Only Boxall and Roynon can hold their heads up. Doesn't set a good example when you see the captain trying to shag the white line and being passed all afternoon. Tai looked like a 16 year old out there as well. Yes track was dry, but how can you possibly keep the track wet in them weather conditions(blazing sun with a breeze)? Virtually impossible. They would have had to water after every race and we would have still been there. Programmes locked away after 2.15pm and none available. Cheers Jonny. Good job didn't get one in the end as were original programmes from first staging. Nice and professional that Jonny. Still maybe now you can purchase a personalised number plate like Pete Toogood, with the money saved on re prints? Nice to see Sheffield continue to embarrass themselves this season. Still at least it sounds as though your boys had a good night on the piss in the capital. Sheffo fans must have the word MUGS written over their foreheads. Wonder if the promotion will say anything? Or is Machin and the old boys network still tucking into their free buffet? What is a good crowd these days? Must have been 3,500-4,000 there. Mainly Lynn, Rye, Brum and Somerset fans. Very little from elsewhere. Halo was looking absolutely tremendous.
  4. As I predicted a couple of months ago, Eds position wouldn't be the one in question when the team was named. If anyone thinks that team can be improved by any other rider then it should make for some comedy reading. Hang on what about Olly Allen? Haha.
  5. Scott Nicholls© Chris Harris Edward Kennett Lee Richardson Simon Stead Reserve-David Howe Good selection by Middlo. Howe has proved what everyone thought, that he's not upto it after his performances in the GP qualifier and at Cardiff where he was outclassed. Stead need to pull his finger out though. Fancy us to get through at Cov if Stead performs.
  6. At least when we pulled out last season we done it to save embarrassment for ourselves and the competition with a weakened pair riding, but why did Sheffield not do the same and let Simmons/Schramm fight for the title? It would have been better for the competition to watch anything other than them two plonkers from Sheffield bringing up the rear all meeting like a couple of juniors. Oh dear. Compton no.1 rider in the league? Pratworth better than Kennett? Haha. Brilliant.
  7. Year too early for him in the GP qualifiers. Another years experience for him and he can give it a proper go in 2008. Should go close in the under 21 final this season, but can't see him winning it on a Polish track as he doesn't have enough experience on them yet. Can't see past Zabik or Holder.
  8. Anyone found updates? What times the off? Updates on the German site. Kennett and Bridger won their first rides.
  9. Should be 7 o'clock Jay. Usual at Rye. To be fair this is a one off to pay tribute to the bloke and other plans should be worked around it. Would doubt we'll see Robbo ride again. Should be ok to get to Rye in two hours anyway. Meeting along the lines of a Champions Chase with 32 riders. Crump rides if not required elsewhere.
  10. Squad announced by Middlo: Nicholls Harris Kennett Howe Stead Rico Allen King Bridger Hall Screen
  11. Well done Jonny. See he has been unsuccessful in taking over at Oxford as well. Seems the BSPA have seen the shambles of his organisation of the super 7 and decided he can't be trusted.
  12. Why? He wasn't good enough to qualify. Karpov will go in.
  13. Team should be picked already by Middlo. As I said the debate wouldn't be over Ed getting in the team, but others being put under pressure because of his and Howes form. Afraid Stead will be the one to drop out again and there can't be any arguments over it. Poor this season and just a one line rider. Really is going nowhere at the mo in his career. Maybe its his move to BV, but looks a rider void of any ability to step up from what he is now. Would have to stick with Rico purely for his WC record as he has been our best rider in the WC for the last couple of years and is still getting big scores round the Abbey. The other youngsters aren't quite ready for that sort of step up yet. King hasn't progressed this season and has dropped back to reserve and Bridger not ready. There inclusion shouldn't be based on a half decent meeting at the British Final. Should be: Harris Nicholls Kennett Howe Rico Stead/Allen at reserve.
  14. Well done Ed. Has proved that he is going to be our top man for the next ten years at least. How anyone can doubt a kid with so much natural ability on a motorcycle is beyond belief. Still we've seen on this thread and over the years on the forum that there is alot of envy and resentment towards Edward. He will win Britrish finals in his career so plenty of time left. He'll ride in loads of GP's as well so he'll just have to wait a year. Still only 20. Comparing Howe and Ed is like comparing night and day and Ed won't be judging his career on competeing with a David Howe. Won't knock David as he has done well this year, but of course home advantage played a part. To suggest otherwise is wrong, but fair play to David. As said in terms of ability and where they will each be in terms of riding at the top level then there won't be a comparison in future years. Edward will challenge at the very top in the next few years, whereas David won't be anywhere near that sort of level. Well done to Bomber. Has really come on this season. Nicholls looks awful at the mo and even if wasn't "supposedly" testing wouldn't have won it. I don't think he likes the spotlight being off him. The ego demands it. Stead continues to impress no one and the less said of Rico the better. Looks as though Ed has confirmed his WC place. Or will Olly be the better choice? Ben Wilson continues to be laughable around the small tracks.
  15. Massive question marks remain over Stead as he looked out of his depth at Cardiff and in the world cup last season. He has become a one line rider probably due to riding at BV for a couple of years. Not sure if they can keep the promise of the wildcard to the highest placed non GP rider at the British Final as its not fair as someone who has done well in the first half of the season and probably deserves a shot(Howe, Kennett, Stead) could have a fall or bike problems and a rider like Dean Barker, Rico, Norris, Screen etc who don't need or deserve a wildcard could get the place. Middlo if he is given the option will give it to Stead in all probability as he will probably feels he owes him after dropping him for last seasons SWC final. Personally don't feel Stead will ever get to the upper reaches of the GP's so may as well give it to Ed for the experience and as reward for his good form.
  16. Good even fields in both Semi's. I assume eight through in each as surely the Poles won't require a wildcard?
  17. Real shame that the weather was so bad all Saturday and leading upto it as it could have been a belter of a meeting in good conditions. Made other plans in the end as you were never going to get any decent or proper racing on a surface that was that wet. Fancied Sayfutdinov would do well and he looks abit special from his results. All others expected to get through did apart from Tressarieu.
  18. As its an FIM meeting the track would have to be under ten foot of water to be called off. They will run the meeting tonight no matter what. To many riders and officials from all over Europe have come over for the meeting to call it off. Plus Len won't want to pay for them to fly back over again. Hopefully the track is not overly wet and we can get some good racing.
  19. Might just be ok. Looking at metcheck the heavy rain isn't expected to hit Peterborough till about five/six so they will have to get the meeting through at a fair old rate as after that they expect a fair old bit of rain. Predicts P'boro will have 13mm of rain between six and midnight so probably won't be much racing after five or six. Looks as though they will have to get the heats through in around three hours.
