Frampton quits. No surprise at all and could see this coming a mile off. Wasn't happy at Rye for most of last season and all of this. Silver should never has re-signed him and no idea why Frampton signed a contract. Down to five men now.
-
Hawkins pathetic again over the last two evenings. His last three away scores are 7 from 7, 4 from 7 and 6 from 7. This from an experienced rider who has rode on all these tracks many times. He should never have been signed on again at the start of the season. Frampton just isn't happy at Rye and looks as though he can't be arsed anymore. He said he wasn't happy riding for Rye last season, so looks as though he's got little motivation to do well. Rye will get mullered 3 times next weekend as well. Silver is lying to the fans about Nelson and is doing things on the cheap as usual. Any danger of putting out a seven man side? His comments on the press release after the Workington loss were comical and basically praised the riders for showing great heart! Says it all about his ambition. Quite clear this side is nowhere near good enough for a play off beth and the season will just drift along to nothing again. It's been a long time now since Silver put any sort of decent side together.

What your not bothered the promotion are lying to you or are happy to go on the cheap and go with R/R(probably duff 3 pointers as well with Garrity out) for the rest of the season?

World Cup Final 14th July
Chris replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Lovely to see the Aussies fall short again. Crump still a spoilt brat, had a go at Artem Laguta after an early race where Ljung stuffed him and thought it was Laguta and had a pop after the last race at Saifutdinov or Jonsson after he was stuffed coming out the 2nd bend. Hilarious when Nicki mugged him off. The two young Danes looked exceptional over the week and puts our system to shame when the Danes have those sorts of talents coming through. Joker should be 8 points and that will cut out the shenanigans. Swedes were awful, Ljung an embarrassment and Jonasson no better. No side should be seeded directly into any world final. The crowd was crap anyway, so no need to seed the home side through. Russians finished well, but weren't interested when the track was grippy for the first half. Prague next year? Good god, talking about shooting yourself in the foot. Awful, crap track that produces no passing, crowds are nothing special for GP's there and the Czechs in the final? Complete joke. Final should return to England. Peterborough will do fine with a couple of temp stands down the back straight or Poole. Another good week of SWC action. No to Prague! -
Shocking track. Shape is awful and surface no better. Need to take at least 3 metres off the inside of it as they have to queue up to get into the bend. Pepe Franc leaving three world class riders standing says it all.
-
Kennett has always had the ability, excellent all round motorcyclist and alot more ability than riders like Barker, King, Stead and Bridger, but has never had the desire to reach the top level. That desire is something that has been lacking in British riders for many, many years.
-
Complete cock up and awfully unprofessional by the club, but not really surprising.
-
No brainer again for Silver really, like last season with Doyle/Boxall/Hawkins. Nelson for Hawkins when he gets his visa and Rye could be right up there. Gjedde Bowen Nelson Mellgren Frampton Garrity Bunyan Very solid line up and would challenge.
-
Bowden offered his team place to Lanham in the press, so I don't blame him for not turning up. No doubt though he hasn't got the attitude to make a career in the sport. A real shame as he should be at the same sort of level as Daniel King at the moment, but seems he doesn't have a clue mechanically and has pissed too many people off with a crap attitude. Would still take him over Hawkins on a lawnmower though.
-
Why would we get R/R for someone cocking up a visa application at the club and for someone who can't be declared in the side? Simply, if Nelson isn't here by good Friday then Len has to sign a replacement, which is why he's left it open. R/R for Frampton is an awful decision with the make up of the side. Hawkins, Bowen and the reserves taking extra rides for the second heatleader spells disaster. Will be a real one man team away from home. Pleased that Gjedded has signed. A no brainer, but he's a proper racer and Rye need as many as them as possible to get the fans back and get some atmosphere going around the place.
-
Yes if you sign for a PL season you probably don't want one really
-
Gjedde double up a no brainer, but this is Len we're talking about, so expect Alan Mogridge to come out of retirement. Gjedde is a steal on high eights and madness to think of anyone else. Obviously wants a PL ride as he signed for Newport. Best wishes to Chris Neath.
-
Thread dying as death as nothing too get excited about. It's a mid table side built on the cheap again, same as last season.
-
Predictable crap from Silver. Decent reserve pairing, if Bunyan is fit, and Nelson should continue to improve, but not alot else to get anyone excited. Neath on a big average due to home scores mainly, but too poor on the road for him to be at no.1 Frampton wasn't interested after halfway through last season. Clearly doesn't get on with the Rye track and would have been best for both parties to part ways. Bowen and Hawkins are just nonsensical and sum Silver up. Offer nothing, but are cheap and will turn up and not cause problems as riders of their severely limited ability are just happy to have a job. Could have accepted one if Silver had used the rest of the points on a rider like Pontus Aspergren, Auty etc, but he's not even got near the limit for about 4 years in a row now. I fear for the club as crowds were well down went i stopped going after Len basically told the fans to f off in May and would only have got worse as the season progressed. Does this side with the likes of Bowen, Hawkins, a not interested Frampton and Bunyan coming back from two very serious injuries in two years make me or the hundreds of fans who stopped attending make a comeback? No is the likely answer I'm afraid. Silver just goes on proving his time was up three or four years ago now. The sooner he sells up or passes it on the better.
-
The prices are already the highest in the league. He has built sides on the cheap for the last four seasons now and the fans have had enough and aren't putting up with it anymore. To expect to pay more is ludicrous. The all "British" side comment doesn't bode well. Can't see too many decent Brits he would be willing to pay for, so you're probably looking at a team along the likes of Neath, Bowen, Nelson, Morley, Hawkins, Boxall & another localish rider who will be cheap. Have said before that if Silver doesn't spend this close season and put a top side out, then Rye will be on the brink as a PL club.

Completely predictable shambles and anyone turning up must be mad. Silver was never going to get decent replacements in as he is too tight. Ace Of Herts always gets a decent crowd as usually the last meeting for many of the season and lots of neutrals turn up. Remember one 3/4 years ago when the place was packed out. If Silver carries on his team building stance of the last 4 years Rye will be finished as a PL side this time next year. -

It's sad I'm afraid when loyal fans are pissed off so much they stop going. Just thinking back to the sides in 05 & 07. Robbo(an absolute crime by Silver he wasn't bought back to the club), Ed Kennett, Danny King, Tai Woffinden, Adam Roynon, Stefan Ekberg etc. The first two an absolute joy to watch paired together at 1 & 2 and used to pray they would miss the start and pick the opposition off. The only rider that has got the juices going in the last few years was Linus last season, who was a pleasure to watch. Silver needs to get back to signing up the best young talent in the country and overseas if he wants the fans back. -

Complete rubbish. We've given great backing since the return to the PL, but the last two/three years has seen Silver do things on the cheap while putting prices up and then topped it off this year when he basically told the fans to f off. You would have to be a mug to keep supporting Silver after that and I and alot of fans haven't. We must have been averaging over the thousand mark in average crowds in 05, 06 and 07, but poor sides with the same old faces returning and no real racers, built well under the limit, has pissed lots off and they have gone forever I'm afraid and Silver will never get them back because of his arrogant and stubborn attitude. To blame all this on supporters and tell them to support Rye whatever Silver does is very naive. Silver has one last chance to save the club by ripping the side apart next season and starting again. Nelson and Neath should be the only riders returning. If he employs the same sort of dull side on the cheap the club will cease to exist or will have to be a NL club only. Have always thanked Silver for bringing us back to Rye, but his time was up at least two years ago and it needs someone with fresh ideas and less of an attitude to take it over. The place is a goldmine for someone with a bit of enthusiasm and ambition. -

Poles can only ride in the PL if they take out an ACU licence Shadders and a decent young prospect, who is trying to progress in the sport isn't going to piss his own governing body/club off by doing that, so no idea why Silver thought Sowka was a possibility for next season unless rules are to be changed at the AGM.... -

Was thinking of making a first appearence since May, but won't bother now. No Aspergren, Sowka and Woffinden unlikely to ride given he is apparently visiting hospital, due to illness and hasn't rode for weeks, means the meeting is of no interest whatsoever. Real poor way to end a real poor season. Sticking Morley and Olly Allen in as replacements says it all I'm afraid -

Good to see riders like Sowka and Asprgren getting a go. Hopefully both can impress. Have kept an eye on Asprgrens scores this season and he looks the best young Swede after Sundstrom, Gustafsson and Andersson. -
Fully expect to see Hawkins and Bowen back. Neath, Boxall and Nelson will all return. Frampton seems has though he has had enough at Rye, so probably Morley and another. Wonder if he will spend the £23k for Sundstrom on a new number one?

A venue/track like Terenzano should be nowhere near holding a GP. Quite clear to see that after the track fiasco at the Gothenberg GP a couple of years ago that they can't get any sort of crowd for that venue and looks awful on the box with no one in the stadium. Both should go along with Prague if they can't sort their track out.

Weather looks fine for Saturday now judging by the forecasts. -
I actually quite enjoy Bridger, a convicted thug, making himself look an imbecile. I wouldn't like to see censorship.
