  1. Yes if you sign for a PL season you probably don't want one really
  2. Gjedde double up a no brainer, but this is Len we're talking about, so expect Alan Mogridge to come out of retirement. Gjedde is a steal on high eights and madness to think of anyone else. Obviously wants a PL ride as he signed for Newport. Best wishes to Chris Neath.
  3. Thread dying as death as nothing too get excited about. It's a mid table side built on the cheap again, same as last season.
  4. Predictable crap from Silver. Decent reserve pairing, if Bunyan is fit, and Nelson should continue to improve, but not alot else to get anyone excited. Neath on a big average due to home scores mainly, but too poor on the road for him to be at no.1 Frampton wasn't interested after halfway through last season. Clearly doesn't get on with the Rye track and would have been best for both parties to part ways. Bowen and Hawkins are just nonsensical and sum Silver up. Offer nothing, but are cheap and will turn up and not cause problems as riders of their severely limited ability are just happy to have a job. Could have accepted one if Silver had used the rest of the points on a rider like Pontus Aspergren, Auty etc, but he's not even got near the limit for about 4 years in a row now. I fear for the club as crowds were well down went i stopped going after Len basically told the fans to f off in May and would only have got worse as the season progressed. Does this side with the likes of Bowen, Hawkins, a not interested Frampton and Bunyan coming back from two very serious injuries in two years make me or the hundreds of fans who stopped attending make a comeback? No is the likely answer I'm afraid. Silver just goes on proving his time was up three or four years ago now. The sooner he sells up or passes it on the better.
  5. The prices are already the highest in the league. He has built sides on the cheap for the last four seasons now and the fans have had enough and aren't putting up with it anymore. To expect to pay more is ludicrous. The all "British" side comment doesn't bode well. Can't see too many decent Brits he would be willing to pay for, so you're probably looking at a team along the likes of Neath, Bowen, Nelson, Morley, Hawkins, Boxall & another localish rider who will be cheap. Have said before that if Silver doesn't spend this close season and put a top side out, then Rye will be on the brink as a PL club.
  6. Fully expect to see Hawkins and Bowen back. Neath, Boxall and Nelson will all return. Frampton seems has though he has had enough at Rye, so probably Morley and another. Wonder if he will spend the £23k for Sundstrom on a new number one?
  7. A venue/track like Terenzano should be nowhere near holding a GP. Quite clear to see that after the track fiasco at the Gothenberg GP a couple of years ago that they can't get any sort of crowd for that venue and looks awful on the box with no one in the stadium. Both should go along with Prague if they can't sort their track out.
  8. Weather looks fine for Saturday now judging by the forecasts.
  9. Will taxi's/trains/buses likely to be available after the meeting as need to get back to Vimmerby?
  10. Comical from Pearson, "We could have kept Newman and bought back Roynon to replace someone else, but thats a win at all costs attitude" Whats the point of taking part then and the Dudley fans can't be happy that the promotion aren't bothered about winning. Perhaps now they know they aren't bothered about winning they won't bother turning up for the rest of the season. Pathetic attitude.
  11. Yes, Woffinden accused Lee of ripping him off last season when they were working together.
  12. Joker when 8 behind would be the only change. Reserves would be good, but we all saw how easy it was to bend the rules a few years ago in Leszno when a rider was off the pace and had to "pull out". Strict guidelines would be a necessity if reserves were to be introduced. Other than that the SWC provides the best racing the sport has to offer and shouldn't be tinkered with. Let's see it spread around now as although the Poles provide a cracking atmosphere with top facilities, it is becoming a bit silly with the final going back and forth between Poland and Denmark.
  13. The SWC stepped up again and provided the best racing of the year. Cracking viewing and showed all what is good about the sport.
  14. Same old Edward. He's beaten all those riders that rode tonight in the EL, but get him in a high pressure meeting and he doesn't believe in himself. This leads to a performance like tonight when he was almost getting out of the way of other riders and riding terrible lines. Bridger was embarrassing. His leg off the foot rest style is comical. Fair play to Harris, who battled and led the side well. Barker the pick of the rest. Woffinden poor and has fallen well back in terms of his development. Gating was atrocious again and the Brits machineary isn't anywhere near quick enough.
  15. Holly Allen and Stead? Comical. Allen can only ride Lynn and Stead can only ride Swindon. Both poor, poor riders. Barker and Bridger are a couple of prats, but they are better than the other two and younger, although neither will do anything in the sport as they are both too thick. Shame really as think we would be in with a chance of a silver medal this year if Rico could be bothered and Nicholls was on half decent form. No one will touch the Poles in Gorzow.
  16. Laguta has known about these two meetings in England for many, many months. No excuse. Would remove him from the GP'S as soon as possible. If IMG knew he was banned from entering this country along with his brother then they have been very unprofessional. IMG have some questions to answer here, especially to the fans who attend and the one's who tune into Sky on Monday night.
  17. This Russian episode just puts more nails into speedways coffin. Absolute joke and makes the sport look mickey mouse. Can't wait to see how Pearson and Tatum explain this one! Laguta should be banned from the rest of the GP season, Russia should be banned from the SWC for two years and no FIM meetings given to them for at least 5 years. What are IMG going to do about it as they have been promoting this meeting with Saifutdinov plastered all over their publicity campaign? You couldn't make it up!
  18. Watched the Daugavpils meeting on Sportofakty and track was terrible. Ruts and holes everywhere and riders being thrown off line regularly. Surely meetings of such importance should be held on decent race tracks!
  19. Should be interesting when Shovlar walks in in his Poole jacket after the Coventry massive have had a few sherberts!
  20. Joke of a meeting and done the sport more harm than good starting it. If they knew heavy rain was in for the night then it should have been called off. Pathetic from FIM/BSI. Gothenburg has to go. Terrible track, no crowds and weather is too unpredictable.
  21. Lynn should clean up next year with Roynon on 3 point nothing and Topinka on seven odd. Bjerre will do very well next year as well.
  22. Nothing wrong with track or venue. Silver just has to make sure he floods the track Saturday night/Sunday morning and gets lots of moisture into the base, so it lasts the 25 heats then the quality young riders on display will do the rest.
  23. Should be a cracker. Only meeting I've looked forward to attending at Rye for weeks. Some top young riders on display. The only worry with 25 heats is the track and if its sunny. Len isn't the best at keeping the track moist enough and if thats the case the track could go by half way and that would be a shame as it would be all about hitting the big blue groove meaning little racing. Vital he gets enough water in the surface throughout the day. Fancy the poles even though this is probably their worst sort of track, but will be slick, so they shouldn't have a problem. Think they would find it harder if it was grippy. GB should be in the mix. Woffinden knows the track like back of his hand and will score big in this company. Auty is quick at Rye, but can never get out of the gate, Bridger also quick round Rye, but needs to calm down and stay on the bike. Hughes is quick enough around Rye to beat any of the field if he gets fresh air, but he might feel the pressure and he is liable to poor rides. Haines confidence is shot, so whatever he picks up is a bonus. Hopefully has his gating boots on. Should be close between all teams. All look very evenly matched to me.
  24. SWC week never disappoints. Cracking racing as usual. Lyon cocked up putting the joker on Harris off of two. Stead out of his depth as expected, but what a let down Nicholls was. Five thirds from him was pathetic and his trapping a joke. Looking at the other teams and ours we should have been battling up the top, not trying to scrape a medal. If that Danish team was able to push the Poles all the way, then we have underachieved again I'm afraid.
