Rye House V Ipswich 1/4/13 2pm
Chris replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Unfortunate for Lambert but if Silver can get a genuine seven point rider in and get Garrity down to reserve then it changes the whole complexion of the side. It goes from a lower end of the table side to one which should challenge the top four. -
Rye House V Ipswich 1/4/13 2pm

This sport just doesn't help itself. Shambles. Gave up after heat 8. -
Poor old Brum! Not only slaughtered on here for his onions, but then has to put on a brave face at this time every season and talk up the Wolves chances. Poor lad. The old comedy act of Van Twatten and Adams continue to make everyone laugh with their team building skills. Languishing with the Vue already by the looks of it.

Complete and utter rubbish. When we had a decent side we had riders like Robbo, Ed Kennett, Tai Woffinden, Adam Roynon, Danny King, Davey Watt, Linus Sundstrom etc. All out and out racers and quality riders. No one was bored watching them. The crowd levels between 2003-2007 and the crowd levels now will tell you that you are talking tripe.
-
Good side. If Gomolski can hit the ground running it will take a good side to finish above them. Kennett under Rosco will be fine. Didn't look as though he was interested in riding for Horton last year and seems to get on well with Rosco. Without the pressure of a healeader role and with Rosco to give him a kick up the arse when needed he should get back to a 7.5 average.

Yes, shows how weak this Rye side is with other sides being announced. Any fool would have made it a priority to have Garrity and Lykke start at reserve, but not dear old Len. The signing of Lambert is a shocker, but we can't expect anything when Silver says "I don't even look at the points limit". Unreal. Bottom half side written all over it and anyone who thinks not is deluded looking at other sides.
-
Yep Kennett would have got a few fans coming back, who have deserted the place over the last five years. Instead he signs one of the most boring riders around in Olly Allen who cant pass wind and will likely lose a point off his average. Imo Silver didn't want to waste money on signing anyone decent on a seven point average as he's saving a place for his lovechild Bowen to comeback from injury. Much easier to drop a non scoring Lambert and as he's so far under the limit the averages won't be a problem. Club will continue to go nowhere with that septet on show.
-
Good base to start from with Mellgren, Nelson, Garrity and Lykke, but as usual Silver has finished a side off awfully. Another Allen at Rye? Olly has only a little bit more ability than Tommy. A real gating tart. Lets hope he is sharp from the gate as he certainly won't be doing any passing. Very likely to get injured as well and be out for long spells as has happened throughout his career. A very meh signing as your supposed stand out performer at number one. Kennett should have been the main target. Lambert? We have 7 points and he signs Simon Lambert. Sums Silver up. Lost his marbles years ago and nowhere near the limit again. The comment about not even looking at the averages/point limit is laughable. Some saying this side will challenge are deluded. Mid table/lower half written all over it.
-
Been more than a couple of years since he's been a genuine number one and that was only because he was riding at Lynn every week where no PL rider could handle the grip. As soon as he went to Workington a few years ago as a number one his average has plummeted. Nowhere near a number one these days. Why is Silver looking to sign a reserve? By the sounds of it he's putting together a side about 6 points below the limit
-
From what Silver said about his number one its got Doolan or Lanham written all over it. If any riders of that ilk are signed then it won't be a good year. I find it unreal that Silver doesn't want a spectacular rider as his number one. Those riders attract the fans Lenny boy! Christ, he really has lost his marbles what with some of the crap he comes out with.

Kennett(Doubling up) Nelson Garrity Nielsen Mellgren Bunyan Leaves enough room for another.

Rye House V Berwick Pct 2nd Leg) 28th October 6pm
Chris replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Is this online anywhere Shadders? The old man has lost his marbles. To have a go at a regular, who follows home and away is disgraceful. He has previous with this from last year. I've been to one home meeting since he told the fans to basically f off last season after the Doyle fiasco. Can't be doing with giving my hard earned to someone who looks upon his customers as a piece of s*%$ on his shoe. If Silver leaves I'll be back like a shot. -
What a stupid comment. These prats at the BSPA have reaped what they have sown and fans have had enough of being taken for mugs, which is why the sport is on its last legs. To say its up to the fans to save it is a joke.

Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision

Needs to be said Phil. Awful, pathetic piece of refereeing. Surprised if he could look at himself in the mirror the morning after. He must have needed a change of underwear when back at the hotel as well as the occasion was much to big for him. Ackroyd looks a weak and timid character and his decision proves it. Appreciate you won't criticise him as your part of the old boys network and probably travel with the lad to GP's, but your argument about being fair and calling for all four as it would be unfair for Holder says it all about the sport and the attitude of some. -
Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision
Chris replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Disgusting decision. Ref completely bottled it and shouldn't be given another FIM meeting again. Tainted title for Holder. Tatum spot on, why were all the Aussie prats allowed in the pits? They have no business in there. James Holder embarrassing himself on track as he's so crap and now doing it in the pits trying to act a hard man. What a bell end. -
Rye House V Ipswich 6th October
Chris replied to crazysue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Would agree. Mellgren has been the only one to put his hand up on a number of occasions. Garrity has only started scoring points at the back end of the season and very rarely contributed away from home. -
Edinburgh V Rye House... 14th September
Chris replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Would have thought Doyle would laugh in Silvers face if he offered him terms next year after releasing him last year. What a good decision that turned out to be. Must be up there in terms of wallyish decisions -
You must have missed the meeting last season when he arrogantly told the crowd, after getting some stick ,"I'll do it my way". Silver doesn't like any crticism and doesn't listen to anyone which is why he has a yes man in Sampford as a token team manager. Len has total and utter control over that club and has f*$^£d it up plain and simple. A bottom three finish is completely unacceptable and embarrassing.

He won't be able to convince you Shadders. Silly Ben comments again. Bunyan has been pony. I'm wondering and hoping if Len has finally had enough after this season and will sell up? Crowds couldn't be much lower and the general atmosphere around the place must be awful. He can't even be bothered to put a seven man side out now for christ sake. He's taken it as far as he can and the place will continue to get worse if he stays.

Rye House V Workington 13/8/12
Chris replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We won't be allowed R/R for Bowen anyway, so that's out of the question. Whats all this Lanham to Rye crap about? He's on the way out and will offer nothing next season. Been awful for Ipswich and at the veteran stage where his average is only going one way. Silver should stay well clear. Same stage as Doolan, use to be a top man in this league, but nowhere near that now. Silver has the basis for a solid side already next season if he can get Gjedde, Mellgren, Nielsen and Garrity to return. Nelson would be another good piece of the jigsaw if he returned, but after the last few years I have no faith in Silver completeing the side to a good standard. -
No chance of top six. We won't pick up enough points away from home and points will be dropped at home. Rye will finish where most predicted at the start of the season, mid table with no cup runs. Side put together at the start of the season had nothing going for it. Nelson was the only one who could have stuck some points on his average, but we've had comedy press releases all season from the promotion about his situation and it smacks of a lack of respect to the fans as they have been fed bs all season. Hawkins signed on the back of promising Silver he would buy a new engine for this season sums up Silvers ambition. Here's a tip Len, it wouldn't matter if he rode on Darcy Ward's equipment, he's a poor rider who offers nothing and how he's got two years at Rye says it all. Just go. Frampton made it clear he didn't enjoy last season at Rye. Len signs him up! Turned out well hasn't it? Bunyan was never going to be the rider he was 3 or 4 years ago and hasn't impressed. Him being back in the reserve berth tells you the story of his season. Mellgren has been the only success of the season and should be the first name down for next season. Although you don't wish to see riders injured and certainly not loyal riders like Neath and Bowen it could benefit Rye in the long run. Silver will have to rip up this side and start all over again as Neath and Bowen won't be there not improving their averages next year. Gjedde, Mellgren and Garrity should be the only one's returning next year. Signing a young Scandanavian for the rest of the season should be the way to go as hopefully he will gain an average and have some experience of British racing. God knows the side needs major surgery as I have had no real desire to watch the sides put together for the last two seasons and I would imagine alot have agreed with me what with reports of poor crowds still at Rye. It wasn't that long ago the average crowd mark was probably around the thousand mark and we were watching Robbo, Ed Kennett, Tai, Danny King, Adam Roynon etc win trophies for the club.

Seeing as we're up North I would have thought Silver will be on the blower to see what Ross Brady is upto over the weekend.
