Berwick V Newcastle - Live On Sky - May 21st
Chris replied to luluthetiger's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Certainly seems the Newcastle promotion want the publicity of a Sky meeting, but have made the sport look a shambles again by turning up with half a team. Lindgren been flying all season and was never going to be available for this fixture. Joke all round, but sums the sport up. BSPA should have looked into it when announced and Newcastle are a disgrace for accepting the fixture what with it being a showcase for the PL. -
Isn't that the aim of the game?

Can't get worse than losing a 4.79 rider who is riding like a genuine 9 point man. Silver will have to redeclare if the team is going to remain competitive as there is no one out there on an average under Garrity who is worth signing. Rye are still nearly 3 points under the limit so take Garrity out and you have 7.71 available. A far better figure to use. When Garrity is fit you then bring him in for one of the others.

Rye House V Sheffield (koc 1st Leg)... 11th May @ 8pm
Chris replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If a rider is named in an FIM meeting as Nelson was he will not be allowed to ride anywhere else in the world if he doesn't turn up. Any promoter on the ball or with a clue of what's happening will know that. Silver/Nelson cocked up, no one else. -

There both as bad as each other Shadders. You know as I do that Sampford is just Silvers puppet! -

63 seconds winning times? Says it all. Farcical from Silver. The BSPA have obviously warned him about his early call offs after the Plymouth debacle and he's crapped himself and ran it against the odds and 10 people have turned up with processional racing. Also doesn't the old codger know that if a rider has been named in an FIM meeting he cannot ride anywhere else in the world if he is supposed to be there? What a wally -

Top drawer stuff. Cracking entertainment on a proper track. -
Hopefully gives Silver time to make a signing before the KO cup matches next weekend.

Somerset V Rye House 12/04/13
Chris replied to Dietbowers's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Shows up the folly of Silver plodding along again. The guy has no ambition. Changes need to be made ASAP as that team at the moment is way too weak. Unfortunate that two guys sustained serious injury but you can't wait for someone. Doubt either of them know when they'll be fit either. Morley is clearly not ready and any idiot would get Garrity to reserve with Lykke. -
Go and read my thoughts on the Ipswich thread, not repeating them. The side has potential in it, any idiot can see that which is why Silver needs to do what he should have done in pre season and get Lykke and Garrity at reserve. If he does that now Rye will be right up there, if not mid to lower table riding in front of 300 again at the end of the season. Its up to the old boy. I think we know which way he'll go though.
-
Lambert says his team place is "being kept open by Len and John". Morley it is then until whenever Lambert is fit. Lambert has no idea when he'll be fit by the way as might need an operation. So a team that was horribly below the limit already is now even worse with a NL rider in who will struggle. Great management. I fear a thrashing of an awful Plymouth side has made Len think this side is better than it is. Usual lack of ambition shown by Silver. Is the silly old duffer so blind that he can't see that if he gets Garrity and Lykke at reserve then not many teams will beat Rye.
-
Monberg or Pontus Asprgen. Essential that Garrity is shoved down to reserve.
-
Moonbug for me. Silver probably doesn't realise he changed his name though and has no idea who he is.
-
Clearly Hemsley has done the track changes on the cheap. Paying a couple of hundred quid to take a couple of feet off is not going to help and he has conned his paying public. What an embarrassment that a blank canvas was available and some wally came up with that. Think you have to be very careful as well with siding with what the riders want over the paying public. 90% of riders these days will want ultra slick tracks as its an easier ride for them.

Two long term injuries then by the sounds of it. Get well soon to both. -

Two poor sides for me. Ippo will be mid table/lower end with Rye. Rye have an opportunity to change that though if Silver uses the points and gets Garrity down to reserve, who will score shed loads from there. -

Unfortunate for Lambert but if Silver can get a genuine seven point rider in and get Garrity down to reserve then it changes the whole complexion of the side. It goes from a lower end of the table side to one which should challenge the top four. -

This sport just doesn't help itself. Shambles. Gave up after heat 8. -
Complete and utter rubbish. When we had a decent side we had riders like Robbo, Ed Kennett, Tai Woffinden, Adam Roynon, Danny King, Davey Watt, Linus Sundstrom etc. All out and out racers and quality riders. No one was bored watching them. The crowd levels between 2003-2007 and the crowd levels now will tell you that you are talking tripe.
-
Yes, shows how weak this Rye side is with other sides being announced. Any fool would have made it a priority to have Garrity and Lykke start at reserve, but not dear old Len. The signing of Lambert is a shocker, but we can't expect anything when Silver says "I don't even look at the points limit". Unreal. Bottom half side written all over it and anyone who thinks not is deluded looking at other sides.
-
Yep Kennett would have got a few fans coming back, who have deserted the place over the last five years. Instead he signs one of the most boring riders around in Olly Allen who cant pass wind and will likely lose a point off his average. Imo Silver didn't want to waste money on signing anyone decent on a seven point average as he's saving a place for his lovechild Bowen to comeback from injury. Much easier to drop a non scoring Lambert and as he's so far under the limit the averages won't be a problem. Club will continue to go nowhere with that septet on show.
-
Good base to start from with Mellgren, Nelson, Garrity and Lykke, but as usual Silver has finished a side off awfully. Another Allen at Rye? Olly has only a little bit more ability than Tommy. A real gating tart. Lets hope he is sharp from the gate as he certainly won't be doing any passing. Very likely to get injured as well and be out for long spells as has happened throughout his career. A very meh signing as your supposed stand out performer at number one. Kennett should have been the main target. Lambert? We have 7 points and he signs Simon Lambert. Sums Silver up. Lost his marbles years ago and nowhere near the limit again. The comment about not even looking at the averages/point limit is laughable. Some saying this side will challenge are deluded. Mid table/lower half written all over it.
-
Been more than a couple of years since he's been a genuine number one and that was only because he was riding at Lynn every week where no PL rider could handle the grip. As soon as he went to Workington a few years ago as a number one his average has plummeted. Nowhere near a number one these days. Why is Silver looking to sign a reserve? By the sounds of it he's putting together a side about 6 points below the limit
-
From what Silver said about his number one its got Doolan or Lanham written all over it. If any riders of that ilk are signed then it won't be a good year. I find it unreal that Silver doesn't want a spectacular rider as his number one. Those riders attract the fans Lenny boy! Christ, he really has lost his marbles what with some of the crap he comes out with.
