Another poor side put together. Kennett has no support whatsoever at the top end & even he fell away in most heats 13 & 15 towards the end of the season. Garrity isn't ready to be an 8 or 9 man yet as he's not consistent enough. Think some are getting carried away by his FTR scores. Not signing greenwood again shows Silver hasn't got a clue. Good ability & not afraid to get stuck in & put himself about. Now discarded for some unknown reason. Boxall & Bowen. Tedious. Will never get any better & have gone backwards. Jakobsen could easily be another Lykke & that would Mean this side being unbelievably weak. Nelson, who knows? Kid doesn't seem the most professional. It's another bottom half/lower end side again & if the new Dane is dud then it's wooden spoon again. Very depressing but expect nothing less from silver. Hasn't put a decent side together in years.

Wouldn't touch Mellgren on his high average after his nasty back injury last season. Needs to prove his fitness over a fair period first. Kennett Garrity Nelson Greenwood No brainers really. Desperate for some back up for kennett though, so a big hitter needed badly otherwise team will do nothing again. Fully expect Bowen and Boxall to be used though which means towards the bottom of the table for another year. Joy.

Absolute rubbish. The reason why Rye were murdering everyone for years at home was because we had top sides. Riders like Robbo, Ed Kennett, Danny King, Tai Woffiinden, Linus Sundstrom etc. same as the Somerset team of the last few years. They have built very good sides. They were crap at home in the early years when they had poor sides. Len has built crap sides and it has proved there's not a massive home advantage as many many teams have come to rye and won. Edinburgh have built good sides in the last few years hence they are untouchable at home. There's been many years before that when they have not had a good sides and have had home defeats throughout a season. Build decent sides and the dominant home form will follow as you have better riders. Nothing to do with home track advantage. Somerset is a brilliant racetrack and I wish it was on my doorstep. Proper speedway.

2014 European Speedway Championships
Chris replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
Brilliant stuff. Great race track gave the riders all the tools to work with. A track where you have to show some big old bollocks. Why someone like a Davidsson was tailed off. Kildemand will challenge for the world title within a couple of years IMO. -
Rye House V Edinburgh (pl) 6/9/14 @ 7.00pm
Chris replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
His bikes looked slow last night and certainly was slow out the gate. Plus the track was very slick and he's always struggled on slick tracks. Words fail how embarrassing that was for the home side. Consistently out gated and out ridden. Silver should be embarrassed like all the fans were, but will he be? I'd doubt it. He's given up. Fair play to the sweaties, at least their promotion have a go each season and put decent sides together and show a bit of ambition. -
Rye House V Peterborough (premier League) 3rd September
Chris replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Pretty poor meeting due to Peterborough being so rank. Hall comical and laughable. Good to see Adam Roynon score well. Definite for me if Rye run next year. Best I've seen Garrity ride but opposition not up to much. -
Worrying Rye House Rumours
Chris replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's pretty obvious it's being run down so wouldn't be a surprise if this is true. If not I just hope the old fool will realise no one wants him at the club anymore and sell it onto someone else. What a shame from where the club was 7/8 years ago. It's a disgrace the way he has run the club and it's all come home to roost. I see all the old twats that used to come on here and tell me to stop criticising Silver as there's no one better are conspicuous by their absence. -

That's as bad a response you can get rom Philip Rising here. Not sure if Malky Mackays texts or Phillip Risings response here is worse? To say you should have gone with TP tours is absurd & a huge insult to the people who got screwed over. If that's BSI response then it's a disgrace. The event beforehand looked as though it was going to be a shambles & the lack of professionalism by BSI making sure everything was running ok is there for all to see. I certainly wouldn't travel to any overseas GP' s if that is the attitude of BSI. Not worth the risk. I hope BSI lost a hell of a lot of money last weekend. -
Berwick V Rye House (pl) - Now 23/8

Can't see what the fuss is about with Garrity. Awful, horrible crunched over style on the bike and very much a white line rider. -
Anyone who's not wet behind the ears knows what the Aussies are like. I've been at a GP in Poland before where I've witnessed Jason Doyle get thrown out of a bar for eating plants after going around 4/5 tables, putting all the left overs in a glass & knocking it back. A couple of other Aussie riders as well were out of their faces. Doyle was riding next day. It's not uncommon. Ward obviously had a big old session the night before and got caught out. Tough luck, accept your punishment. The lad seems a bit of a prat so won't learn whatever punishment he gets, but the few defending him on here is laughable. You only have to listen to his excuses to see he doesn't give a sh*t. Wasn't hydrated enough? Hahaha

Yep. Sad, but no other option if silver won't sell up. Would rather the club be put out of its misery than carry on like this. If only a Matt Ford/ John Chapman type could come forward and buy it off Silver.
-
Floodlights could defo do with an upgrade, track looked very dark for the riders. As I predicted, postman pat & silver to blame for heat 15. Completely unprofessional, but not at all surprising from them two.
-
Thought Rose was impressive for a second string with limited experience in the sport. Looks to have a good future. Pretty poor from Newcastle losing by that amount to this Rye side. Nothing at reserve and none of the top men could touch Kennett. Lindgren the pick. Shambles in heat 15, more calamity from the management I assume? Terrible crowd, made me laugh at the start with Silver mentioning it. If you put rubbishe sides together for years & do things on the cheap it's no wonder the crowd has pissed off elsewhere. Credit to Greenwood, some excellent first turns using his head. Could turn into a decent little rider. Certainly better than Lambert. Should be pencilled in next year already.

embarrassment of a speedway club. Sell up and piss off you silly old fool. You're as mad as a box of frogs following that team over the country Shadders. Fair play.

So the silly old codger signs another rider who can't ride all the meetings, you couldn't make it up! Does the old boy not feel embarrassed? Obviously not. -
World Cup Final 2nd August 2014
Chris replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Brady Kurtz another. The young Brits don't have the will, belief, character or know how to develop like the poles, Aussies and Danes. Look at someone like Edward Kennett, someone who I watched week in week out at the start of his career. Superb talent and ability on a speedway bike at a very young age but never had the ambition and desire to make it at the top level. He had it to easy like most youngsters in this country who are mollycoddled from a young age. Decent money, good sponsors and brown nosed regularly. Poodling around tracks like Eastbourne, Belle Vue, lakeside etc. tracks which are nothing like what you'll encounter in any FIM championship meeting. No idea how to set a bike up for a big, fast track, the correct lines to ride, not turning the bike twice in a corner and that's before you see the difference in speed between the polish and Danish youngsters compared to ours. We always seem to turn up with mopeds compared to the rest. Look at Harris, king and stead last night. So sloooow. Can't honestly ever see it getting better unless we get a couple of freaks like woffinden come along at the same time. I watched tai at the start of his career and the difference in his desire and attitude from someone like an Edward Kennett was night and day. Our youngsters simply don't want it enough. Someone said kildemand was nothing special at Workington? Complete rubbish, remember seeing him 3/4 years ago at rye and looked the real deal then. -
Should never have been released along with Aspgren at start of season. Shows the idiocy of Silver that he has to recall him.

Off? Hahahahaha -
Abysmal, what twit designed that?

The club is an embarrassment now and has been for a few years. The state it's in now, it won't even survive until Silver pops his clogs and someone else can take it on. He has done that much damage the club won't be here in two years time if he carries on. This from a club which owns its own track. Disgraceful

Tressarieu riding in a field again and no facility, *ucking comical. The incompetence at that club is unreal.

Rye House V Glasgow (knock Out Cup) 14th June @7pm
Chris replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Gave up giving a toss a long time ago Dave. Silver has seen me off I'm afraid. I'll comeback when he's gone but I won't pay to watch the rubbish he puts out on the cheap every year. No thank you. The Jason Doyle incident when he basically told the fans to F off was the final straw for me, although I have been moaning for years about the old codger. I have noticed recently even the silver backers are saying exactly what I was 3/4 years ago. This Tressarieu debacle this weekend with no facility for a poxy grass track meeting sums the club up.
