  1. Having been going to speedway since the 70's one thing I'm not is star struck about speedway in the UK. Ive been to all but one this season and I never said it was wonderful but It's better in every way than Lakeside.
  2. Seen a few digs on twitter and now these messages having a pop at Rye House. Seems the negativity continues to grow at Lakeside I went yesterday and not the greatest track, but checkout You-Tube and see Heat 1 between Kennett and Harris! There were a few good heats. Facing a team that hadn't been beaten for 10 matches and lacking match fitness there was only going to be one winner. I'm pleased to say I'm enjoying my speedway. After the previous several years that is a god-send. It's a better stadium. There is much better viewing. The atmosphere is better. It is cheaper than last year. Maybe it's the better viewing but the racing is better. There is no contempt for fans - withholding information, making false promises or lying to fans. There is a sense of belonging and Steve Jensen seems a genuine guy.
  3. Masterful display by Swindon, as for Rye - oh dear😯 even managed to muck up the TR with some crazy riding.looking very rusty. As for Barker well what waste of space.he just looks like a rusty sheriff's badge
  4. So if it's rained off, then presumably it will be announced as a walk over for Birmingham - seeing as Lakeside have no dates left??? What a joke. They don't want to run more meetings as it will cost them money. As has been said time and time again. You're been lied to and taken for mugs Lakeside fans. Unfortunately you are not alone.
  5. Heat15 had disaster written all over it. Robbo was one of the best riders on show, but not known as a gater and shouldn't have been selected. Then even worse was Kennett. Had to be help by Robbo in his heats to get points and known for being a choker under pressure.
  6. Looking at the pictures on twitter, crowd look quite poor and that was an improvement - oh dear!
  7. Not only impressed with Danny Ayes, but also Kim Nillson. Rode like a strong number 1 and his battles with Scotty were great viewing. Glad he moved away from Lakeside and continued to improve.
  8. Given Davey's previous dubious scores against Poole, his current form and his own confession that he loves Poole, would rather he wasn't riding. NBJ seems a no brainer to quite a few people.
  9. How about NBJ and Lewis BrIdger as replacements? Bridger's average should come down a bit I would expect after the start at Berwick. He could be key in the Prem.
  10. Both great riders, but Tatum gets my vote. I have a slightly tainted view on Wiggy. The year he road for Hackney in 1987, all he did was moan and his heart wasn't in it. Turnde out to be a nightmare of a year and Hackney dropped down again.
  11. The Program at Lakeside was terrible. Apart from the race card, what did you get: 1. A page of JC comments. 2. A page with Tatum's comments. 3. A fixture list and handful of photos that you can get online 4. Pages and pages of adverts Not good value whatsoever
  12. We've never met, though I think I would recognise him from his previous role :-) I have no doubt he can stick up for himself, but wanted to wade into this debate as I think he came in for some harsh and uncalled for criticism from a handful of individuals, plus one certain person who thought it was OK to have a pop at a forum because it only had 43 members.
  13. As they said themselves - their post says a lot about them ;-)
  14. A tongue in cheek comment like that , does it really? Does it tell you the hours of work and effort he used to put in voluntary to help run things at Lakeside? No thought not!
  15. Everyone was saying that Neil was a nice bloke including VOR. His ability to carry out the Team Manager was bought into question. Your constant slating of VOR and anyone else who dares to post a negative comment is quite tiresome.
  16. It was also the Forum that told you to go take a hike Bryn cos of your constant trolling and bullrubbish - exactly what you are accusing The Voice of Reason of doing. Lakeside Fans once again found out info from the SS this week, rather than their own forms of communication - website, FB or twitter. Another perfect example of what TVOR and others, including myself, have highlighted is a big issue.
  17. So Jon knew the date of the AGM and that at the meeting he would have to commit to running in the EL. So why the hell weren't the rental negotiations completed beforehand. Can only think this was planned and we've just been given the usual bullsh1t
  18. Would think that at 2 or 3 riders would come over from Lakeside to try and tempt the fans across.
  19. Don't think there was much twisting going on. Jon said that they were exploring several options, including this mystery polish rider who would really make us serious contenders. That was certainly my perception. However, with the supposed AJ situation that changed. If that was the first time we have been told something, only for it to fail to materialise, then that is perfectly understandable. But it's not, we've been told of various plans over the last several years and none have come to fruition - backup for AJ, Changes will be made etc. On Monday, at his Heat 14 chat, we have been told that it's all change at Lakeside. Both on and off track. A complete revamp, of personnel and riders, that will take the club forward, plus a new track in 3 or 4 years time, hopefully. So let's wait and see what he delivers this time!!!
  20. SKY Website is stating Lakeside vs Swindon next week - which is surprising news to all Lakeside fans!!!!
  21. Tatum says on the club website - " We were desperately disappointed when we heard he couldn't travel" So they knew much earlier. Once again the fans being manipulated by withholding information
  22. Given that notification of AJ's absence wasn't until after 7, I assume he must have already arrived in the pits. Can anyone confirm if he was there, or is it the usual bullrubbish of not telling anyone until it's too late.
  23. At last some honesty about the crowd level. The photos posted on twitter clearly showed a poor crowd, yet Bryn still makes his usual promotional comments about how good things are at Lakeside!!!
