Never saw anyone leaving before heat 8. It was a forgone conclusion by then but giving the impression loads were leaving is wrong.

Ipswich vs Leicester, Thursday, 15 August
KevtheRev replied to Roger Jacobs's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Leicester will be looking for revenge for us pipping that last play off spot last year and can only see a defeat. Maybe scrap home against Sheffield depending on who guests but then lose again to Belle Vue. We'll get pipped for top spot in the league and then go out in the Semi finals. -
Way unfair on Jordon. He's average might be low at present, but he's on the pace and now picking up useful points.

All the above plus: The First Bend Track shop and the one up the back of the 4th bend grandstand. Walking from Stratford down the street of a thousand smells. The coach to Rye House on a Sunday Beating those fickle Dons, especially in the cup final

Ipswich vs Oxford 18th April
KevtheRev replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
By not running Heat 15, did Oxford get a losing bonus point by only losing by 6? If so, lets hope Ipswich don't miss out on the play offs by 1 league point from Oxford! More than happy with Jordon. Clearly on the pace and will score more when in his correct position of reserve. -
Yep, from back in the early 80's on my trip ups to see Kenny Carter

With Sam E in charge, do you think he is trying to get Greg Hancock out of retirement?

Two at then end of March, yet just one in July crazy. Oxford running in both leagues now seems logical -

Very true. For those that are there every week, it's clear to see. As opposed to somebody with a Man U top as his profile and the words Sick Bro - I know what I see and whom to believe. -

If he wasn't bothered about Ipswich or UK he could move his family to Sweden or Poland and still get family time. He's committed to the UK and gets nowhere near enough credit. If every GP rider was the same, Speedway in the UK would be top notch. -
Would chop my right arm off for weekly speedway, as would many I would think, given how every year we moan about a lack of fixtures. An attractive season ticket and they are onto a great thing here. Hats off to them, full of admiration. What if it works well and every club does it over the next few years.

Talking Crap again. I remember, Len coming out after every heat on his tractor, 2 laps and in again. Never delayed meetings as always finished within 90 mins. If there was a break he's be out with the hose.
-
His temperament was questionable. Saw him knock a reserve rider off after a race finished, because he had the audacity to beat him.
-
Terrestrial TV is not the answer. Young people these days are moving away from it and going doing the streaming and Apps for watching shows. Apart from some of the GP's, with well prepared tracks, Speedway never comes across that well anyway.

Similar idea, how about this: Seeing as a lot of riders race in Sweden, let's create a European league. 5 teams for the UK and 5 from Sweden to complete in the Anglo-Nordic league. Maybe even include 5 from Denmark to create a 10 / 15 strong league. To make it more attractive with regard to traveling, have the riders also compete in individual meetings at Championship tracks on off-race nights whilst they are in the relevant countries.
-
Riders would either travel in their vans with bikes, or have machines located in each country. As a lot of riders ride in both leagues they continue to do what they do now.

Time to think more radically. The sport is the UK is running out of clubs. Seeing as a lot of riders race in Sweden, let's create a European league.

Lovely to have 3 meetings in 3 weeks. Not had that in a long while. Also, as usual, all done in 90 minutes - that's how it should be done everywhere.

Completely agree. Nothing more than damage limitation.
