You know false advertising is an actual law, right? The first line of which reads: "Marketing communications must not mislead the consumer by omitting material information" You can't just ignore it because you're taking the financial risk of hosting an event and don't want to lose money! That's now how laws work.

Oxford vs Poole 19th June Championship
BackInTheDHSS replied to lbw's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Because many Oxford fans are disgruntled at the refund given, myself included. I've decided to suck it up and keep going, but I know at least two people who are boycotting because of it. And I'm not sure why you think there's a difference between Championship and Premiership when it comes to this? Do you think there are Cheetahs fans that don't support the Spires, and vice versa? -

Will be interesting to see what the crowd size is like for this after the Ipswich refund debacle. I normally go with four other people, but two of them aren't coming this time as a result of that. -
Can easily see the Spires finishing bottom the way things are going, especially with Lynn and Birmingham improved.

I very much doubt many riders own the van outright. Most likely on a business lease (if they've got any financial sense) and therefore they are not the owners of the van. Said van would most likely be driven by somebody else as well. The rider is merely a passenger travelling with their luggage. A big can of worms has been opened.

Oxford v Witches 13th June
BackInTheDHSS replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Remember Oxford gave a full refund after the Newcastle meeting was cancelled after 4 heats two years ago. Money must be tighter this year… but now I certainly won’t be going again if the weather looks dodgy. Turns out I paid £3 per heat to watch that farce. Not to mention the fuel money of travelling there and back. -

Haha, okay, maybe not literally….be certainly felt like when I read the email. -

Has anybody had an email from Oxford about ticket refunds? I’m literally stunned as I will getting £4 back…. No wonder they were so keen to stage the meeting. Utter disgrace. Is this normal? “As it was necessary to abandon this meeting before the completion of heat 10 due to rainfall, each adult ticket holder is entitled to a refund of £1 for every heat not completed prior to heat 10.A total of 6 heats were completed before the abandonment announcement, therefore a refund of £4 per adult admission ticket will be issued via Ticketsource.” -
Typical Poole fan thinking Workington are not playing ball by cancelling their trip to Oxford and riding at Poole instead. Naughty Workington!

I don’t think the rain ever stopped. It certainly eased up a bit at one point and then returned again. Almost like the expected rain at 3pm arrived five hours late! It could be argued the meeting could have continued before it was called off, but the track was only getting worse. Heat 10 seemed a long way away unfortunately. -

1. There was plenty of effort to remedy the track. The tractor did almost as many laps as the riders tonight. 2. Where was this clear weather window exactly? It's still raining now. -

I can confirm it does look pretty good. The rain has somehow stopped. Plenty of black clouds around still, though. -

Just arrived and it's raining heavily here. No way this is going to go ahead unless it miraculously clears up. -

I was minding my own business until you referenced me in this thread for no apparent reason! You’ve argued with numerous other Oxford fans and even bullied one so much he left the forum altogether…but I’m the bad guy. Haha, okay! You’re (that’s how you spell it) a pretty horrible person. -

Maybe you should go back and read what I wrote. My away reference was in response to wanting more than just a good atmosphere at home. As a proper fan (unlike you) I want my team to do well, and that means making the playoffs and potentially winning the whole thing. Ipswich are already almost guaranteed the first, Oxford are not. That's the difference. Do you understand now? Ipswich can afford to lose a couple of away meetings if it means eventually getting a good replacement for Doyle, Oxford can not afford to wait and sacrifice meetings. It's really not hard, and I'm sure most of the other people that use this forum can understand that. Maybe instead of deliberately trying to argue all the time, you could accept that sometimes other people might have a different opinion to you. But you seem to deal in extremes, black and white if you like - and if people don't agree with you, then they're wrong in your eyes. Take a step back and maybe realise you're not always right. Then again, pigs might fly. -
You must be disappointed. Could have been a nice new council house for you!

And your point is wrong (as usual)….because, as previously stated, you lack the intelligence to understand the difference. Your post above just proves my point. -

There's no point in trying to reason with you when you clearly lack the basic intelligence to know the difference between Oxford's and Ipswich's situations. Hint - try looking at the league table. -

Would you rather Louis pulled his finger out and rushed to get a number 1 or would you rather he took his time and got someone who would be a genuine replacement for Doyle? You're top of the league and going to make the playoffs, one or two losses at this stage of the season isn't really going matter in the greater scheme of things? Give Louis a chance and maybe he'll do the right business again - he hasn't really let you down over the last couple of years. -
Yeah a bit crazy. They went all cosmopolitan for the main Speedway Grand Prix series, and then the other way for SGP2. In Torun, 10 of 16 will be Polish or Danish. Not saying it's a bad thing, but some consistency would be good.

Yeah, I was thinking that. Absolutely no need for the 'keep up'. Not everybody is able to follow every bit of speedway news 24/7. Some of us have lives to live.
