Depends what you mean by ‘promotion’ ? The league has never been high profile and no one who is involved in it is concerned about promotion. All the northern clubs know about it, it runs each year, it works ! . Teams and riders come and go and the NJL has produced a steady stream of riders to the NDL and above . Any type of ‘ promotion ‘ won’t change that but if it’s just more ‘ coverage ‘ your after then that’s probably down to the co-ordinator to be a bit more pro active possibly. The league is struggling to find riders, particularly 125 lads to race in each of the teams but that is an issue that is now affecting the hole of the sport and will be a serious issue in the coming seasons for all levels.

Why should they move dates when it was made clear that the league fixtures had to be completed by the end of August at the AGM last year ! Most clubs do not want to run in October as the weather is so unpredictable and some clubs cannot run passed a certain date as we have seen in the past. BSN do not just turn up with 24 hours notice either !

To put another side on that, it is more often the ‘successful club’ who try to dictate as they want the fixture when it’s suits them !

Fixtures are always prone to be changed due to ‘priorities’, in this case the clubs were told to get BSN out of the way first, then told to get early cup rounds completed by a set date now they are being told to prioritise the league, it’s not the individual club that changes them to suit ,it’s dictated and I mean that literally , by the BSPL. Always going to cause issues for the Friday night tracks particularly those who have ‘seniority’ and impose dates on the opposition.

Great performance by the two Redcar Cubs boys , Seth and Ollie , especially as Seth has stepped up onto the 250 bike and not ridden a lot of 125 races recently.

Without giving you a copy of the lease let’s just inform you that there is a stipulated difference between a ‘ Race Meeting ‘ , a ‘ Practice ‘ and a day time ‘ Amateur Meeting ‘ held on a weekend, all of which are fully explained on the lease. If the club applies for a ‘ special exemption ‘ each application is looked at and a decision made on its validity. Clear now ?

Yes really, as they don’t pay Glasgow style wages , like £100 a point ! they run the club on a realistic budget based on gate receipts ,sponsorship income and revenue from weekend sessions and hiring out the stadium. That’s why they haven’t followed Workington ( the previous one ) Eastbourne , Newcastle and a few others.

Redcar were KO cup winners in 2019. It costs them a lot less of that sum to run each year.

Not quite true, Redcar and one or two others can , if they choose too but will be restricted to ONE meeting per week as per the lease.

You mean like those that were tried with the ‘ Dugard ‘ 140 engines for junior racing? only for the seals to be ‘copied’ and offered around by another engine tuner and the scheme was abandoned within weeks .

Surprised no one is discussing his reason for not taking a drugs test ? just because he was allegedly owed money by his club ? Being angry is no excuse and a very, very poor one anyway. Drugs tests are nothing to do with any club and every rider knows you get a ban for not taking them, even the much abused , and rightly so, Jason Garrity took all the drugs tests put infront of him and passed them , somewhat surprisingly, but he took them as have other well know drug takers within the sport, as they know the consequences. Im not for a moment suggesting Boxhall is/was under any sort of drug/medication but not taking the test should be an automatic life time ban in my opinion as it’s the only way to stamp it out altogether and tests should be compulsory at all tracks for all riders.
