  1. It’s a development league with only 5 home matches, it isn’t about winning it’s about finding some new riders before the sport disappears altogether.
  2. As it’s the first time ever the SCB have published the fixtures, that’s why they will be inaccurate.
  3. Thankfully I’m hearing he’s ’stood down’, not 100% sure who will end up running it , maybe a previous co-ordinator is coming back…..possibly.
  4. As non of you have tried to arrange fixtures based around kids getting time off from school, having to travel , in some individual cases, hundreds of miles, clashes with youth rounds, grass tracks, flat tracks, family holidays, parents time off , getting permission of your host promoter to run on a particular night , and then having four clubs all running on the same race night ! …..then maybe you would understand the difficulty of running an NJL team. Give them a break !
  5. Be patient, they haven't even had an AGM yet and don’t know who’s running what ( two long time team managers have already stood down ) and then they have to have the promoters agreement to run a fixture in the second half and it’s still only February so it ain’t going to happen anytime soon.
  6. The rule has made it a closed shop as no unattached rider will get a guest booking as clubs will take the easy option of giving the spot to a guest reserve. With only 10 matches anyway , scattered over seven months , there is little opportunity for ANY youngster just starting out to impress as we have heard nothing about the other proposed events. Combine this with the rule in the youth championship of a specific cut off for a birthday thereby eliminating a few new youngsters because they are the oldest in their school year yet some of their classmates qualify it simply makes life even more difficult to get the chance to progress. Very disappointing decision by someone who is supposed to be all about development.
  7. Since they published the new rules yesterday.
  8. Not at Workington, Redcar and not in the dark ages but very recently and I now assist the current supplier who also does other tracks in the north.
  9. Your starting to sound like you know what your talking about…..AT LAST !
  10. As someone who supplied methanol to a track and a qualified ‘ DGSA ‘, there’s a lot of rules & regulations regarding storage and transport of dangerous goods which make it restrictive to anyone dealing with it. Clubs have never supplied it , always been from ‘ the spares van ‘ type supplier . No club would want to store thousands of litres of a flammable liquid if they didn’t have too !
  11. Nothing wrong with practicing on a different track, especially one with less dirt on than Redcars. Many teams hire other tracks to have a day out on, for all sorts of reasons .
  12. Only Charles has never had sign writing on any of his vans, he doesn’t even own a van, simply uses an unmarked hired one during the season . As for your childish comment , no rider likes anyone getting in their way, team mate or not.
  13. Or , more likely, they are waiting to see which club would volunteer to run it based on any of their riders being in it so they might hope to attract a half decent crowd.
  14. You might think there is, but do you really believe it’s being adhered too by all the clubs ?
  15. and if a sensible pay structure was used for a ‘development’ league then a few hundred would be just fine, but don’t expect the likes of Clegg, Morley etc to want to ride for expenses only style wages.
  16. I can assure you the lad has been in touch with every club running in the NDL. Your second point. Not just Redcar, Edinburgh would be clued up also, as they run two teams in the NJL.
  17. I’m not the promoter ( anymore ) or even the team manager so it’s upto the management to do what they see fit. There are a number of riders associated with the club who could be considered for the final team spot, Katie being one of them. Would love to see Rachael Hellowell get a spot at Edinburgh too. As for crowds, it’s a development league and should not be expected to attract big crowds or even make a profit, although that would be nice. It’s one step up from the NJL and the amateur scene so don’t expect it to be a big earner for any club. The I.O.W. actually charge riders to ride in such meetings and people on this site rave about the clubs activities so isn’t that an eye opener.
  18. Why a ‘waste’ ? Its supposed to be a DEVELOPMENT league so why not give someone NEW a chance ? It’s not supposed to be about winning at all costs .
  19. 2024 TESTIMONIAL CONFIRMED! 2019 British Champion Charles Wright is delighted to confirm details for his Testimonial in 2024, which is set to take place at Redcar's Ecco Arena on Sunday, March 17; Tapes Up 3pm. Wright, who is set to star for the Agilia Bears in his seventh season in Teesside, has also announced that the event will take the form of a 16-rider individual meeting. He said: “With the Championship fixtures now released, I’m really excited to confirm the date and venue for my testimonial meeting next year. “The hard work has already started to make this a fun and exciting day of racing. A few things are already in place, and I’m already looking forward to it. “I’d like to thank BSP for granting me a testimonial in 2024, and the management and promotion team at Redcar for their support in bringing my meeting to the Ecco Arena.” Further information, including rider line-ups and sponsorship packages will be communicated via Charles’ official racing Facebook page.
  20. Just because you are not in the know doesn’t mean I have to tell you. I know because I assist the rider concerned . I’m not naming names as that is upto the club press office to do or the rider and it isn’t my club so they can do things the way they see fit. The rider concerned has now got another team so it’s all good now .
  21. Think you will have some good news shortly but your right, it’s not the way to treat kids.
  22. As I know that you are well informed your probably not far out but If it’s truly a ‘ development’ league now perhaps it will follow the Polish model and become an Under 24 style league which may rule out the likes of Crang and Phillips, although that might be a little harsh and as it’s a new beginning probably not required. Personally I’d keep them in as their experience would be invaluable for some of those untried newbies.
  23. First I knew about it was reading it Ont Tinternet this morning so, yes….Ill be busy…..but not with speedway.
  24. Stop teasing…we know YOU know.
