  1. I've caught a couple of Cubs meeting this year and Ashton has impressed me as he appears in control. The racing brain will come in time. I hope wherever he ends up he take a more medium to long term view rather than take the best financial offer. Smart move signing for Leicester in the NDL as they can make their track available for their riders during the week and not everyone has this luxury.
  2. I post this without having full sight of the rulebook, but I feel this is the more serious of the two charges.
  3. Getting back on track, I found as a retired Barrister, the most interesting part of the SCB statement was; A further charge of: * 018.2 Breach of Rules c) Any attempt to influence improperly an official in the course of their duties. was withdrawn. Draw your own conclusions...... By the sounds of this he may have been a very lucky boy to only be banned for a couple of years.
  4. I fancy some sunshine speedway after thawing out from Monday. But what do people think my chances are to make the 21:44 train back to town as I would rather not drive at night?
  5. They were the three I thought people would say. Middlo for track record, Dickson's record at Leicester for building successful teams is second only to Middlo and bothe can motivate riders and Pete Adams because of his savviness, although I do feel is can be to loyal to riders at times.
  6. Or you could secure the airfences to the fence behind them as they do at other tracks.
  7. My first time at Oxford since they came back and I picked a cracking meeting. Its also the best stadium I have been to in terms of atmosphere this season. Although I didn't notice it at the time I have watched the meeting on BSN this morning and was surprised by how much the airfence moved in the big crash. Had bikes followed riders into it their would have been major issues. Did anyone else notice this at the time?
  8. I would tend to agree, so who do you rate on that basis?
  9. Who do we think are the best Team Managers across all three division in British speedway and why?
  10. The poor decision would have been to allow NKI to race.
  11. Riders are allowed off their bike. But ignoring the Start Marshal's requests to join the other three riders at the start is delaying the start. Ignoring the flashing green light is delaying the start. The fans around me welcomed the decision. A man in a Peterborough top in ear shot remarked about bloody time, he's been doing it all season. At least the Leicester Start Marshal appears to know the rules unlike our lot.
  12. The Leicester riders had no problem overtaking. The reason there was less than on my previous visit was how uncompetitive the away team were.
  13. I enjoyed the meeting, second time at Leicestet this season & on behalf of the paying public I would like to thank Mr Jarvis for having the balls to exclude Iversen in HT15 for delaying the start. If more refs did this I'm sure riders would stop arsing around & it would give us fans one less thing to moan about
  14. Well on the 6th June he registered Straya Limited at Companies House so he would only do this if he was to have future "Business Interests" in the UK.
  15. And look how Leicester have done since he joined. Won the league & Cup, makes the play offs, goes up a league and are in a solid third.
  16. Long term under achievers. Maybe the concept is that their Manager is not good enough as he has not won anything with a number of strong teams.
  17. Another final, & by the looks of it another loss over two legs. It's the story of the last five or so seasons. Teams built to different strengths, top stars, strength in depth etc. They have tried everything. Only two constants. They don't win anything. Oh & the Manager. Maybe the Directors may start to think it's not the riders fault, but the Manager who consistently gets his charges to underperformed when it matters. Rather than FTP, it should be FTM.
  18. Always the West London Clubs before East, and Rye House as the London clubs closed down.
  19. I just hope Vadim tells Uncle Artem what a nice place Leicester is.
  20. I went to a recent IOW Event against the Rockets as its one of the teams I have supported over the last 40 years. Now, I appear I am the only one who thinks this but I found it a well run event but poor racing and I don't need all the other stuff they do. If I wanted that sort of event I would attend the Scout or Village Fete. I am aware that this will make me Public Enemy Number 1 with the Barry Bishop Happy Clappers. As for know how to operate within their budget I wouldn't be so sure of this having had a quick look at Companies House.
  21. Could you act as a consultant with Eurosport on the Premiership meetings with regards to camera position, and also advise on direction ?
  22. Thanks for the response Ben, its good to hear both sides of the story. As one of the closest spectators to your interview area I did see the lady pull riders in for interview when clearly the Clerk of Course was trying to get riders and managers to agree gate positions for the final. He didnt look happy at all with this happening. That aside I think you offer a first class streaming service and enjoy the meeting you cover - I'm a happy subscriber.
  23. A long drawn out meeting. Cannot believe how smooth the track is in comparison to last year, lots of hard work gone into that. Leicester fans saying it was the worse meeting of the year, the Brlle Vue fan I spoke to said it was her third visit this season and was much better earlier in the season. Overheard a conversation with a frustrated official who said the slow running & long track grades were caused by BSN insisting on interviewing the riders & it taking 20 mins to fit new tyres before the semi. This needs to be thought about going forward. Having said that I enjoyed the night & will be back at Leicester this season.
