  1. There is lots of free random draw software available put seven home riders in one draw and all seven away riders in an another draw and let the ref do the draw for all 4 riders.
  2. Re Becker - Managed by the same person who coaches the Owners son Will. Also Leicester have taken the hit on Becker's Wolverhampton average so may as well stick with him with the hope he will improve this season.
  3. If my understanding is correct a riders fixed term contact expires at 23:59 on the final day in October. Therefore riders are not released. Their contract expires which is a totally different legal situation. If the asset system was challenged in court I am sure it would be found to be restraint of trade which is not allowed for a self employed contractor unless specifics are named. This is not the case with the standard contract.
  4. One of my neighbours is in the classics market, deals with top end cars. However, speaking to him recently he has a collection of over 10 Saab 900 Turbos. He thinks this will be the next car to explode price wise. His bread and butter has always been Aston's Ferraris etc. Now he is interested in anything to do with Group B rallying.
  5. Nonsense, most clubs Number One in the Premiership are on a guaranteed fee per meeting.
  6. If you are to believe what everyone is saying about Cairns joining when he is 16 then Poole may find it hard to get a reasonable Number 7 with the rider knowing he is likely to be out of a job come the Summer.
  7. If you say sponsorship could cover fixed costs, stadium hire, insurance, medical cover etc. and they got 500 @ £24 each this means they could spend £6k per meeting (one home and the reverse fixture away points) on points money. Allowing you budget on 46 points per meeting it means you can build a team with an average cost of £130 per point. Its doable, but if your Number 1 is on a guarantee which I understand most are its going to be a tight fit financially,
  8. I would imagine for a work permit to be issued.
  9. Why get the begging bowl out at the time of year that you are trying to sign riders for a competitive season. Riders want certainty that the clubs is going to run and they will get paid. Who ever thought it was a good idea to go public with their financial position must now be regretting it as obviously its costing them riders. Once again Birmingham will be left with the riders no one else wants. I am sure Chris Adams is working hard to secure riders but its almost like the club are working against him in this matter.
  10. Yes please. He's young and over rides at times. However, having looking at both crashes I don't think he did anything wrong. Given better equipment I can really see him kicking on next season providing he is given the opportunity to do so in the Championship.
  11. As does Thompsons rolling average of 1.51.
  12. I think I saw Vinnie's debut for Eastbourne against the Cubs a few seasons back. He looked an exciting prospect who sometimes over rode his skills set and often crashed. Two seasons with the Cubs and I have seen him mature. He actually said in an interview this season that he "accepted that sometimes second or third is good enough rather than to crash trying to win every race" It appears last night the occasion may have got to him and he reverted back to type. All he needs is a strong mentor to calm him down and channel his ability as a rider.
  13. I would have three back, poss 4 depending on the other riders available. Fricke, Douglas and Hagon would be back. Fricke is an out and out number 1 despite what most Leicester fans think. In the regular season no other rider in the Premiership had scored more points. Douglas can increase his average further and Hagon will improve throughout next season. The maybe is Becker as the Club has already taken the hit with his reduced average and then just pray its a warm September as he never rides well on cold or damp nights. For the remaining 3/4 places I would go for a stronger second heat leader if possible and a better number 6. I'm aware that this would mean a weaker middle order but it is what appears is needed to win the league. However the fly in the ointment could be rider availability with the Polish second division riding on Thursday. If I was Leicester I would swap to a Monday night race night, but I am unsure what impact this could have on attendance.
  14. You may want to give you head a wobble. Hagon has spent the majority of his season in the main body of the Poole team and achieved 4.85, Thompson has only left the reserve berth in the last six weeks for his 5.77 average. Allowing that JT was unbeaten at home in Heat 2 all season it shows that one has basically stalled their progress while the other Hagon has developed as a rider.
  15. Will be attending both legs. I just hope Oxford don't do their normal trick of calling it off when they have people in the stadium.
  16. Its not a moan. Its an observation. With 15 home meetings, and the sport is supposedly a summer sport their is an opportunity to benefit from having a small league and condense the season over 5 months. Focus on the time of year with better weather. Phil Morris and the Club Owners have to opportunity to improve the sport to make it more attract to potential new fans and it will cost them nothing. It could also benefit more regular fans who get into the habit of attending a weekly home fixture.
  17. I enjoyed the meeting last night as a neutral more so than my £240 hotel room. Credit for the Belle Vue track staff for getting the meeting on. I suspect it may be just out of reach for Leicester in the second leg but I do feel based on who I spoke to leaving the stadium the its not all done and dusted as many fans think. However the one thing I would say is that the track could have been better if the meeting was held in August as Speedway is a summer sport. So allowing that you need two reserve dates, the August Bank Holiday was Monday 26th, allow a week for the SON and if you raced at home the season could have started on the 22nd April. (based on the programme saying that it was Issue 15). So why not run mid September until the end of August & let the final take place on a dry track so it is s showpiece. By all means then have some other competition if clubs think their is demand for meeting on cold, damp nights in September and October
  18. And IMHO the least talented SGP World Champion by some distance.
  19. David Lowe at Leicester who has a page in the programme for each Lions meeting allowing him to update the fans on the regular zoom meetings they have with Phil.
  20. Surely this means more clubs moving to Monday nights.
  21. If my understanding is correct he got a new engine from an unnamed tuner that is well suited to British tracks.
  22. Commercial Considerations could mean WBD wanted certainty on where they needed outside broadcast trucks in the UK. It appears more than coincidental that the announcement was made within a day of the original end of season date.
  23. Absolutely, I do. It is hard for clubs that don't have 24/7 access to their stadium to run an additional NDL team as the hire cost for the Premiership meeting will be the same as for an NDL meeting but without the same revenue stream. However that does not excuse clubs like Kings Lynn from running an NDL team.
  24. Yes of course they should because ultimately you are hindering the progress of the rider if you do not allow it.
