Redcar V Somerset Thursday 9th July
cheekycobra replied to pvm's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Whatever the outcome it would be harsh on Redcar as it would have been a master plan to print the wrong average and get Grav to put a nail through his foot. The Ref should have had the correct averages and should not have relied on the programme, if that's what happened and the incident should have been sorted at the tapes or after the race In one race Roynon was name Adan, so mistakes happen. A programme isn't gospel. -

In the programme, Kus's average was the next one above Graversen, so unless it was a printing error, all was ok. First thing I looked at when it was announced Grav wasn't racing and Kus, Roynon and Morley were the three who could take the rides. -
If things pan out, when Skidders returns, Roynon hopefully will fit in and stay. He will either drop to reserve or replace Graversen who will drop to reserve. Why not have him in the team now to get a month up to speed. if it all works it makes perfect sense and will strengthen the team greatly. Who else is out there. As for the Judas slinging..... grow up. Whatever the wrath some people have with the management, theres nothing to stop certain supporters going on a forum and giving a "well done" to the riders, even if they didn't attend after a good result, just to show that whatever the grief they still care for the team and sport. What do you get...... zilch. The character on the updates had lots to say about the promotion, but at the end of the meeting, was there a well done to the team...... noop. For Rafa, I've said it from day 1. (Pole or whatever, it doesn't matter), theres something special about the lad, and its been there from the start. Its his attitude to give 100% and learn the trade. last season he was scoffed at, at times with his falls and wild racing lines, but he got up, dusted himself down, and as he says, "takes it on board, and learns from it". His improvement week on week is a pleasure to witness. If his team mates don't come to him with advice, he goes to them for it. His fall on Thursday, he picked up his bike, got back on and finished the race. He's not going to become an overnight sensation, but those that know their sport, don't react to the online jibes, because they know.

The track changed when the kerbs and drains were put in. If the drains are taking away the natural water (when it rains), That along with a dry spell of weather. Its harder to get moisture back into it (the hanging basket syndrome where water attracts water, but if you let them dry out its hard to get water back into it, it just runs off. Keep them damp and water soaks in better). Just a theory. Remember a few years ago when new shale was added but we had two or three meetings with everyone stood around waiting when the tractors had to take it all off and it was piled up on the inside of the track, because the riders couldn't ride it. It was bald on the inside on Thursday, but the problem was, the outside wasn't working where the dirt was and the inside to mid-track was the fast line around the blue groove. Speedway has always been about chasing the dirt, but that for some reason isn't working at the moment on the track. I haven't got a clue why.

who were the 4?

Liked...... but through gritted teeth

Would Bunyan fit? Whats his average?
-
I was thinking Compton/Wilson, but both are to high. Hope they find someone that keeps Grav at reserve. Maybe Bunyon if he fits is the best shot or the return of madmax.

Priority Over Double Up Riders 2015
cheekycobra replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Is the answer that Elite league teams could name say 8 or 9 riders. 5 regulars including heat leaders and reserves then 3 or 4 "double uppers/downers" where they choose the 2 that are available for each meeting. Theres a pool of riders like Summers Kus Vissing Masters Wolbert etc in the prem league that could be added to each Elite team. Is that a daft idea, or to simple to be true. -
What The Visa Issues Could Mean For Teams.
cheekycobra replied to doners1234's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Immigration, visa's, .. whatever. The thing is, this is only happening because theres an election soon, The British people have voiced their opinion, and the government are trying to show that they are doing something about it.... Only in a very "PC" way, because they don't want to offend the wrong people who have human rights. Another thing, speedway at premier level cant afford the "elite" so fill their team with equal ability riders, to match. So some of these quotes of riders having to be this and that are all wrong. I would'nt mind an all british team, but there aint enough British riders to go around, so we need them as much as they need us. If they contribute to the system then whats all the fuss about. -

Maybe its because I'm a speedway fan that this issue stands out, but to me it seems its the easy option and less of a racial thing to come down hard on Aussies and Americans regarding immigration. The British public has voiced a concern over immigration for years now. As I understand it, its not to stop people with a career to enter, ie a doctor etc but to stop those who enter to sponge from the system. Speedway riders come here under the "career" option and add to the system. Sort immigration out... yes, but the bigwigs are not doing it the way the British public are demanding and are not coming down hard on the right people. This stinks. -
Exactly. So why do some either like to spread rumours, of if none can be found, make it up. Usual suspects with a big spoon....... come on downnnnnnnnn. PS Aaron was prob' my fav at Redcar over the last few seasons. A cracking and very entertaining rider who gives 100% on and off the track. Hope he finds a club soon and I honestly believe he's the deciding factor in Glasgow winning the league this season if he does or doesn't sign.

What a load of tosh that makes no sense what-so-ever. If brains were dynamite......

Don't usually do predictions...... but.... Bjerre will end the season as the leagues No1 on 10+ Hall on a false average loves the Bears track 7+ Robson, now riding a proper racers track 8+ Kus, (as above) 8+ Skiddy (improvement each season to continue) 8+ Graversen the leagues best reserve and on a false average 6+ Raffa Will at some point raise to second string or even heat leader pushing Hall on 7+ to reserve. Redcar Bears end of season average 60+ There you go....

Bugger. I have BT sport ffs cheers
-
Has anyone found a link to the flat track racing?
-
Ticks all the boxes. A Great number 1in Bjerre, two other solid heat leaders, in Kus and Robbo, Great second string in Skidders, Hall and Jan could swap places for the second second-string rider and I hope to see raffa improve. Well happy

The RedcarRacers and Tsunami's of the Berwick world perchance. Probably the best post ........ever. Do you drink Carlsberg?
-
You got it in a nut shell, and what I pointed out from the start, hence..." Yes I agree, some fans were frustrated". HalifaxTigers point of " The Redcar fans" is wrong, it was "some Redcar fans". Every club has the same few fans. Redcar have RedcarRacer and the like, Newcastle have Tsunami.

And that's fair enough. Good luck to Kozza. No grudges from me there and I haven't read anywhere a grudge from any Redcar fans.
