  1. Matej is and always has been a fans favourite at Redcar, and it showed everytime Berwick visited Redcar this past season with the reaction the supporters gave him and the fact he spent more time in the Bears end of the pits than he did Berwick's. Add to that his big points haul at the STeMP each time showed his style is a big match to Redcar's track. His depression (I'd like to think that is over and done with and didn't warrant been brought up again) was nothing to do with Redcar and we all know what the reason for that was. For an experienced poster that was pretty low for your standards.
  2. Im not sure if the original poster is a Bears fan. Ps... Its time you changed your name, as I chuckle everytime I read it
  3. Ive got nothing against Robert, just pointing out he had more than a fair chance, and was given time to prove himself. Sorry I just read that he rode for Redcar in June, 2012 and put that down to half a season, but I think he was a guest then. I don't see what your getting at with Konopka though, as he was signed on a 7 average, and has had a lot less time in the Redcar team than Robert did. If the last place in the team is a 3 pointer, then yes defo. Towards the end Raffa was riding loads better and no one can question his 100% effort, and became a bit of a cult hero with some fans.
  4. Dunno, but they have 4 riders to sign with 20ish to play with and I think Andre "Mr Sheffield" Compton will return, so somethings got to give.
  5. Rob Branford rode a few for the Bears in 2010, a full season in 2011 then half the 2012 season. ... Hardly a handful and given plenty of time. I think the Bears team will be made more clear with what happens at Peterborough then I expect Ulrich may be back. Maybe Roynon or Hall also. I have a feeling Sheffield will keep Compton so either Proctor or Poole could be available.
  6. If Kozza is to join then fair enough. Summers and Skidmore are certs for me. Konopka I think will improve and Graversen Id have back on a 4.14 average. That leaves 13.35 for the final two. Id go the Berwick way with no big number 1, so a 7ish and a 6ish. Proctor could be a snip or maybe Jorgensen, Aspgren, or Steen Jensen to fit. So something like... 1 Aaron Summers 2 Hugh Skidmore 3 Ty Proctor 4 Pontus Aspgren 5 Kozza Smith 6 Jan Graversen 7 Rafal Konopka
  7. Which conveniently is 42 points to try and boost your point. lol. Good for a point away though and a tactical here and there..... play-offs here we come
  8. A special mention to Wilko's spectacular outside swoops in heat 14 in a cracking race with Rose. Worth the season ticket alone, never mind the entrance fee. Should say actually all 12 riders offered great racing and the track lately has been fantastic and back to its best.
  9. Somerset aside ( been the third team on the trot to get hammered, and wont be the last), maybe the Bears team isn't as poor as some people think.
  10. Had a feeling the Bears might get something. Nowt better than beating the (we think we are) mighty Newcastle, but some Bears fans..... where were your posts pre meeting backing your team?
  11. Don't worry. He's only taking the p***. The clues in the name
  12. And there I guess is the problem. In modern speedway ( no good saying "Ivan Mauger new how to ride it"), tracks shouldn't have riders " scrubbing off speed". If it isn't done correctly then riders shouldn't be "locking up" or "heading for the fence". In this day and age, all speedway tracks should be fair for both teams. A home track advantage is down to knowing the faster lines, not knowing at which point to "slow down". You cant argue with the facts that Brough park has its fair share of tumbles for both sides. Away supporters have blamed the track itself been rough and uneven, but whatever the reason, it seems that there "IS" a reason, so maybe its time for this track to be brought into the 21st century.
  13. Dunno what all the who-haa is over nothing to play for. I thought this fixture was massive to avoid the wooden spoon...
  14. It doesn't make any difference. Take Hugh Skidmore who never touched a bike from the last meeting last season, until Press and practise this year...... He's flying. Sometimes time away works as well.
  15. I'd give up posting if I was you Wilko. It would be great if all riders felt they could come onto a forum and share their thoughts, but some posters just use that as an opportunity to have a dig. I'm sure if you still want to put across your thoughts, The Bears have a new website, where i'm sure a "Wilko" column would be more than welcome on it, with no come-back from trolls.
  16. Consistent, but not really heavy rain now, forecast to clear around tea-time.
  17. People are working behind the scenes to either replaced the website or have it rapidly improved....
