HIs first club in the UK was at Newcastle. He wanted experience in the UK so Richard Bailey bought him for a 6 week spell I think at the end of the 1993 season after winning the World U21 Championship. Moved on to Coventry the following year. A brilliant style he was always meant to be really good especially with his style and attitude.

He had White leathers when rode for us. Went on to Reading free of charge from Newcastle after we sold all the riders in 1994, but nobody bid for Petri. He was such a nice guy we gave him to Reading to keep him riding in the UK.

Yes Jordan. We will have to see if he returns next year. I personally think we have seen the last of a very good prospect.

Harry has done the right thing for himself and the club. He obviously needs time out, and probably should have made this decision earlier, but I hope he tries hard during his time away to get back what he seems to have lost. Jordan P has stepped away from the sport and not come back, so just hoping Harry thinks hard and long and makes the correct decision for himself and the club. I wish him well.

Does anybody have the full list of dates/places for all the rounds in next years SGP events. Many Thanks

It it also the way the BSPL operate, so that most issues are agreed before the AGM in mid November which is intended to rubberstamp the previous decisions.

Changes are discussed during the latter part of the season at special meetings, and the outcome of these meetings voted in during the AGM usually held third week in November.

There was a major storm over Haltwhistle about 11.00am coming over from Whitley Bay. Apart from a few spots during the meeting, everything well off well except the result but an excellent meeting as usual. -

Anybody got a decent weather forecast for Workington tomorrow. Is there any chance of it being called off ? -
Well I don't think they would ever consider being in the top league at this stage, but I suppose it would depend on the planned strength of the lower league. If there was more emphasis on a development type league rather than a Championship League I would think they would be in it. With such an investment in Worky I can't see it being just a training track, its too good for that.

After his original absence, later on someone reported that he had broken ribs but not how it happened, Then someone had contact with him and they said that THJ was through with Speedway and not coming back. Obviously something big has happened but not sure we will never hear the full story.

I was due to come over tomorrow with my training bikes and other gear to give it to Andrew and Worky Speedway.. In view of the poor weather forecast, I am not now coming over but can't get in touch with Andrew as I don't have his phone number. Can someone on here tell Andrew we won't be over now, but will bring everything over for the meeting on 26th August against Belle Vue. Many Thanks if someone can contact him for me. Dave R -
Poole "preparing" their starts

I agree that each home team produces a start gate that the home team prefer, but it is definitely a NoNo to prepair selected gates during the meeting to suit the home team. If there is differences in gates during a meeting, then both teams get an equal chance of using them every other race. -
Once he knew he was expected to be at Worky in the maiden season, I suppose he asked Top dog in wages thinking it couldn't be refused. I was pleased and not surprised that they picked the best riders they could get, but unfortunately some have not justified that faith for whatever reason. It was thought the Comets team could go through the season undefeated this season at home, but fortunately despite their home losses the gate seems to be holding up with some cracking meetings,

As well as the air fence which is now at Workie, the wire fence has gone leaving just the shale outline. Electrics all stripped out and all of the pits dismantled and gone. In addition all of the machinery, ie, bowser, tractor, blade, has also moved on.
-
Quite agree, Locals know their weather far better than opposing teams and their supporters. Occasionally a home team will dream up excuses to cancel a meeting when they have injuries or team problems. Because of that visiting supporters tend to be cynical when a meeting gets calls off, but that's just natural cynicism.

Workington v Leicester 10/06/2023 3pm

But did he get checked out by the medics at the track before the meeting. That's what anyone would do whether they were riders, track staff, officials, or crowd. Of course the father might have consulted the medics and then the referee, but it is strange that nobody has mentioned if it happened. It could save a rider getting a ban/fine, something he doesn't need just starting out and looking like a fabulous prospect, -

Dan is probably the second hottest rider to come out of recent British Youth Championships after say Jordan Palin.
